A Chinese gambling expert who had swept through the Hilton, Golden Casino, and Royale Casinos was now known to all the casinos in Las Vegas, and many had heard that the Chinese expert had at least two hundred and forty million dollars in bank drafts.
Two hundred and forty million dollars, such a vast sum, no one could resist being tempted, and so numerous forces began to stir, and many spies had also tracked down Yusuf Zuck’s whereabouts.
At 11:40 pm, Yusuf Zuck left a casino called MGM, with another check for eighty million dollars in hand.
By 12:10 am, Yusuf Zuck, accompanied by Lena Brown, emerged from the Horseshoe Casino. At this point, the total value of the checks he carried was four hundred million dollars.
Whether at MGM or the Horseshoe Casino, upon entering with Lena Brown, Yusuf Zuck was directly led to the VIP room. Although there were gambling experts in the casinos who wanted to take him on, the casino management readily paid up.
It was as if Yusuf Zuck was there to rob and extort them – without gambling, he was simply handed eighty million dollars.
All the forces were waiting for the fat sheep to fatten up, continuously feeding him because the more they fed, the more they would get in the end.
Of course, there could only be one final winner. Thus, everyone was eager to strike, and it appeared that all the casinos in Las Vegas had reached a tacit agreement: let him feed, then slaughter him when he was full, and whoever managed to do so would be the king of the night.
"Let’s head to the next one!" After exiting the Horseshoe Casino, Yusuf Zuck, pulling Lena Brown along, was eager to continue.
"I thought we were stopping? I feel danger; so many people seem to be watching us!" Lena Brown said nervously.
"If we keep going now, we’ll be safer, but if we try to return to the Hilton, I fear no one will let us successfully make it back to the hotel."
"What’s the name of the next casino?" Yusuf Zuck asked as he walked slowly, keeping an eye out for the undercurrents along the street.
"Four Queens Casino," Lena Brown pointed to a glittering neon sign up ahead.
"In that case, when I enter Four Queens Casino later, do not follow me. Head back to the Hilton immediately. You remember the intersection by the MGM, right? After you get the car from the Hilton, drive straight there and wait for me. Also, you have a convertible, don’t you? Leave the top down."
"Ah, but what about you..." Lena Brown was unsure of Yusuf Zuck’s plan. However, once they split up, would she be in danger?
"Don’t worry about me; you should be safe now, too. They’ll want to capture me. If you suddenly separate from me, they might not reassign someone to follow you so quickly, and they won’t just grab you. So just park the car at that intersection with the engine running, waiting for me. As soon as I arrive, we’ll make our getaway!"
"Oh, okay, just... be careful," Lena Brown, lacking any better idea, agreed. Now, splitting up from Yusuf Zuck, she shouldn’t run into any trouble; after all, he was the one they were after.
Lena Brown reached Four Queens Casino and, when Yusuf Zuck stepped in, she turned back immediately. The Hilton was, in fact, not far from there, less than a kilometer away.
Yusuf Zuck entered Four Queens Casino, and a Chinese woman greeted him.
"Mr. Zuck, welcome, please come this way!" The Chinese woman said in fluent Mandarin, inviting Yusuf Zuck to the VIP room.
It was quite common to find Chinese in these casinos. In the previous ones he had visited, he saw many croupiers were Chinese. It was nothing unusual to have Chinese gambling experts lured by hefty sums.
"Excuse me, I need to use the restroom first," Yusuf Zuck said with a smile.
"Certainly, Mr. Zuck, follow me!" The Chinese woman smiled back and led him toward the public restrooms in the main hall of the casino.
Meanwhile, the message that Lena Brown and Yusuf Zuck had split caught the attention of various forces. However, Zuck was the most important target, so the forces ordered their gunmen to hold fire while they arranged for others to tail the translator woman.
Lena Brown hurried back to the Hilton’s parking garage, got in her car, and immediately drove to the intersection by the MGM.
Meanwhile, another group from various powers hadn’t organized themselves and hadn’t shown up yet; only Hilton’s crew, taking advantage of their proximity, followed Lena Brown’s car with their own vehicle.
Inside the Four Queens Casino, a Chinese woman and two security guards stood outside the public restroom. But after Yusuf Zuck entered, the only oddity was the bathroom door that inexplicably opened and then shut again.
There couldn’t possibly be surveillance inside the restroom.
After waiting for over a minute without Yusuf Zuck coming out, the Chinese woman assumed he was ’taking a large dump’ and didn’t rush him, opting to wait instead.
What she didn’t know was that as soon as Yusuf Zuck had entered the restroom, he turned around and left, becoming invisible as he did so; and after leaving the Four Queens, he ran like a madman towards the MGM Grand’s intersection.
Indeed, Yusuf Zuck had meticulously planned and carefully considered every step, having already thought through his escape method.
There were many people outside the Four Queens, and the streets were crowded too. While running like a lunatic, Yusuf Zuck roughly counted there seemed to be a few hundred people about.
The MGM Grand wasn’t far from the Four Queens. When Yusuf Zuck reached the intersection near the MGM Grand, Lena Brown had just parked her car with the convertible top opening!
"Whew—" The moment she opened the convertible, Lena Brown felt a sudden jolt in the car, as if someone had jumped onto it, startling her greatly. Yet, she saw no one, no one was around.
"Drive, hurry, let’s go, out of the city!" Yusuf Zuck’s voice suddenly sounded in her ear.
"What?" Yusuf Zuck’s sudden voice almost scared Lena Brown enough to wet her pants. She stared wide-eyed, looking at the passenger seat, then the back seat, but they were all empty, there was nothing. However... however... Yusuf Zuck’s voice was right by her ear!
"Drive, what are you dazing out for? I’m invisible now, let’s get moving!" Yusuf Zuck knew that to escape, he had to reveal his secret—at least to Lena Brown. There was no other way.
"Roar—" Lena Brown slammed the gas pedal, and the car roared away at top speed.
When the car left, less than three minutes had passed; this street was Casino Street, with the MGM Grand and Four Queens not far apart. The Chinese woman inside the Four Queens still thought Yusuf Zuck was inside taking a dump.
"A car is following us, what do we do?" Both Yusuf Zuck and Lena Brown simultaneously noticed a car following them in the rearview mirror, just one car.
"Stop the car!" said Yusuf Zuck firmly.
"What for?" Lena Brown asked this while simultaneously braking to a stop.
However, she got no answer from Yusuf Zuck and once again felt a disturbance in the car.
The car behind them also gradually came to a halt, stopping about fifty meters from Lena Brown’s car.
Lena Brown felt a bit nervous, for she had no clue what Yusuf Zuck would do next.
This Yusuf Zuck, he was too mysterious, too magical, and it seemed as if he had everything calculated in advance.
"Bang—" In a matter of a few breaths, Lena Brown suddenly noticed the following car’s window being shattered, and immediately after, the driver was inexplicably thrown out through the window.
Seconds later, her car vibrated again, and when she turned to look back, Yusuf Zuck’s body gradually appeared before her in the back seat, his head dripping with sweat.
Lena Brown’s hands were shaking. He really could become invisible. He knew how to be invisible.
"Drive, park the car somewhere like an alley, then we’ll take a cab to the airport, hurry up, don’t waste time!" Yusuf Zuck was a bit annoyed. If he could speak English himself, tonight wouldn’t have been so troublesome because if he were alone, he could do as he pleased. But now, with Lena Brown being a burden, he couldn’t abandon her or ignore whether she lived or died. So, what could have been a clean getaway for him was dragged down by Lena Brown.
