The stands erupted in fury. The Stone Demons raged at their age-old nemesis standing right before them, powerless to truly end him.
On the arena floor, endless tortures played out.
Stone Demons harnessed low-tier Heaven Demons to bind Giant Jack's limbs and head, then had them pull with all their might.
Blood sprayed as the beasts howled with excitement.
Five Heaven Demons yanked Giant Jack's body into separate pieces, dragging them hundreds of meters apart.
Even so, this gruesome quartering was useless.
In the blink of an eye, a silver glow rippled across the ground.
Severed limbs twisted, merging back into bloody masses, then reformed into a humanoid shape—alive once more.
"Gods… Heaven Demons… someone please end me…"
Giant Jack's voice was hollow. Only a sliver of his mind remained intact.
Endlessly reviving, trapped in this ruined world, was a curse more dreadful than any hell.
"Begging to die? Now that's an unusual request."
Orson's eyes narrowed. War God Giant Jack clutched Draconis' Reverse Scale, giving him this power—no matter how mortal the wound, he would simply come back.
The scale was fused to Jack's very flesh and blood.
There would be no easy pickpocketing it.
Orson paused, calculating.
Who knew how many times Giant Jack could resurrect? If it was an infinite trigger tied to this place or time, that could be troublesome.
Then suddenly a spark of inspiration lit his mind.
"Of course—the blood river at the Abyss of Fallen Gods."
His lips curved into a wide grin.
It was a bold plan, if a little… disrespectful to the ancestors.
Orson focused, then with Phantomcraft transformed himself into a towering Stone Demon.
"If you truly seek death, I know someone who can grant it to you."
He strode forward into the arena, grinning down at War God Giant Jack.
"Our king is stepping in himself?!"
"That terrifying aura… we haven't birthed a demon king in centuries!"
"With the Stone Demon King himself striking, Giant Jack will be shredded at last!"
The crowd went into a frenzy.
Orson stood before them, his entire form sheathed in shimmering Nightriven Stone.
After a long pause, Giant Jack's lifeless eyes brightened slightly.
"Follow me outside. You'll see soon enough." Orson flashed a broad, brutish smile.
He turned and lumbered away. After a moment, Giant Jack moved, following without a word.
Once they'd left the black stone city's walls, Orson dropped the disguise, revealing his true form.
But Giant Jack, lost to despair, didn't care who or what Orson was. He trailed behind like a puppet on strings.
Orson relaxed slightly, then summoned Crimson Lizard King and took off toward the Abyss of Fallen Gods.
Behind them, violet light flashed—and an enormous shape blotted out the sky.
It was a monstrous, spectral purple roc.

Orson's heart skipped.
The giant bird's ruined wings stirred hurricane gales as it swooped after them. In seconds it had caught up to Crimson Lizard King.
Crimson Lizard King snarled angrily, spurred by rivalry. He surged forward, a black lightning bolt streaking through the air.
Yet the skeletal divine bird was even faster. With a crack of tattered wings, it exploded through the sky and matched their speed effortlessly—holding position only a kilometer behind, clearly not even at its limit.
Cold sweat beaded on Orson's back.
Thank god he hadn't tried fighting Giant Jack outright. Losing flight would've meant big trouble against someone who could revive forever—and who owned this monstrous companion.
Less than an hour later, they arrived above the Abyss of Fallen Gods.
"Wait here. I'll fetch the one who can grant your wish."
Orson landed and gave Giant Jack a respectful bow.
The War God said nothing. He simply dismissed his roc and sat cross-legged, unmoving as a stone statue.
"Perfect," Orson thought, elated.
He quickly checked the coordinates for Solarius' Reverse Scale, then climbed back on the dragon and shot off toward a place marked the Pit of Ten Thousand Demons.
As he flew over, Orson's eyes widened.
Below was a vast valley, covered end to end in dried Heaven Demon corpses.
"Thunder Bears… Shadow Fiends… Dark Serpents… Ocular Demons…"
He felt a chill. Many were well-known high-tier Heaven Demon species—powerful commanders capable of leading entire swarms.
In his past life, even a lone high-tier Heaven Demon could require thousands of adventurers working together to bring down.
Here, they lay in piles, slaughtered en masse.
Whoever lived here was beyond terrifying.
At the heart of the fog-shrouded valley was a dark, lightless cave.
According to his map, this was where Solarius' Reverse Scale—and the true King Arthur—waited.
Orson narrowed his eyes, raised the Supreme Arcane Blade, and formed two enormous chaotic hexagrams over the valley.
Chaotic Dance of the Fan-Flame!
The two hexagrams merged. From their core burst nine blazing divine dragons.
Waves of searing heat rushed downward. Fire tornadoes raked the ground, pulling thousands of Heaven Demon remains into the air.
With a roar, the nine dragons dove straight into the cavern.
Deadly Strike -20 million!
Damage numbers floated up.
Orson's expression darkened. He didn't linger—he had Crimson Lizard King whirl around and sprint away at full speed.
"Who dares disturb my rest? Are the gods still not satisfied?"
"A massacre's grand design has been laid. This world has no place for your so-called gods."
A cold voice rolled out from the cave, a terrifying aura sweeping across heaven and earth.
Orson felt like he weighed a thousand tons, each breath a struggle.
He almost wanted to shout: "Hey, I'm on your side! Not one of those damn gods!"
But the scene that unfolded ahead left him speechless.
A dark rift ripped open in the sky.
From it stepped a short, white-haired old man with a sword, eyes flashing like cold stars.
He was small—but seemed to prop up the heavens themselves.

King Arthur's voice was calm.
He flicked his sword, and space itself cracked and howled. Countless black rifts split open.

Dozens of sword-like peaks were shoved through the rifts, hurtling straight down on his head.
"Holy shit. Straight to Forbidden curse level attacks?!"
Orson's scalp went numb. The chaotic hexagram reformed and he shouted, "Awakened Grip of the Underworld!"
A colossal elemental hand slammed upward, barely shattering one descending peak.
Crimson Lizard King joined in, unleashing a deathly breath that shattered several more.
But there were too many mountains, falling in endless waves.
Orson jumped. Crimson Lizard King instinctively grabbed him in its claws, folding its wings to shield them from the impacts.
Crashes thundered around them.
The dragon was hammered from ten kilometers high all the way to the ground, HP plunging at a terrifying rate.
Just before it was crushed completely, Orson dismissed it into his battle space.
He clapped his hands together, snarling, "Earthquake!"
A stone dragon burst from the ground and carried him away, slithering along narrow cliff fissures.
"Immortal Art: Splendid Mountains and Rivers!"
Before he could breathe, King Arthur unleashed another.
A distant lake vanished—then dumped down on Orson's head as a torrential flood.
Water drops like dagger-tips hammered his robes in a dense, endless barrage.
The damage was low. But there were billions of drops.
Worst was how the paired skills blinded him, leaving him one slip from being crushed into paste by the next falling mountains.
Orson's face was grim.
"So this… is what a top-tier Era of Immortals adventurer was like…"
