Old Yin didn't doubt Sienna's worth because she was Orson's sister. But appointing a level 28 adventurer as guild master? That would be a tough sell for many.

"Hello there, beautiful, kind, lovely young lady," he said with a goofy grin.
Orson froze. It took him a moment to process that this chunky little brat was actually Ignis in human form. The flattery sounded so awkward, it was hard to believe this was a mighty divine beast.
"Aww, what a cutie! You two moved fast, huh? Come here!" Sienna squealed.
Two simultaneous forehead flicks—one from Orson, one from Blank. Both were bright red with embarrassment.
"Beautiful, kind, lovely—uh…"
Ignis turned to Blank, then clamped both hands over his mouth like he'd remembered something terrifying.
Sienna giggled so hard she nearly doubled over. "What's wrong, little guy?"
"Dragon Lord big boss and Aeloria big boss said I'm not allowed to talk to her. If I do, they'll kill me," Ignis whimpered.
Orson sighed and clutched his head. "For fuck's sake. None of these bastards ever give me a break…"
The stronger the beast, the more cunning they became. That went for loyalty as well—high-level war beasts had minds of their own.
"I'm leaving him here. If things get bad, have him blow himself up. He can do it up to nine times a day. After that, well… he's done for good."
Orson was still explaining when he turned to see Sienna ignoring him completely. She'd somehow filled an entire table with takeout.
"Here, try this. Ever had a burger? And this is iced soda—so good!"
Ignis didn't hesitate. He started shoveling chicken legs and burgers into his mouth without even glancing at Orson.
"Wow, look how much he can eat!" Sienna squealed.
Blank watched with a soft smile and even joined in feeding him. Ignis beamed. "You're so nice. Dragon Lord totally lied about you."
Those dimples on Blank's cheeks were almost too much. For just a moment, she let herself imagine a different kind of future.
Orson just stood there, completely floored. His companions were all traitors, every single one.
"Whatever. Have fun."
He sighed. The last Soul Seal was waiting, and he needed it for what was coming.
Outside the city hall, he summoned Aeloria, scanning the map for the updated location of Tomb One.
Taking a deep breath, he braced himself. He had a bad feeling about this run.
No heartfelt goodbyes—he didn't want to make it harder on them if he didn't come back. Better they didn't see him as he was, just in case.
"Here. Your favorite kind."
He flinched. A soft shape pressed against his back. Blank slipped a plastic bag into his hands.

She giggled, seeing right through him. A tiny sprout burst to life in her hand, unfurling into a sunflower-like blossom.
