After Anthony left I decided to do some work that was piled up on my desk. I hear a knock on the door. "Come in." I say, not looking up. The for opens and I glance up as her scent hits me. I smile. "Hello little one." I say as she walks over to me. "I got worried. I didn't know where you went so I just followed your scent." She tells me. I smile and stand, walking over and hugging her. "You shouldn't be worried. I'm not going anywhere. I promise." I tell her. She nods slowly. I look at the clock across the room. "Its getting late little one. You need sleep. You have school in the morning." I tell her. She nods slowly but frowns. "But I want to stay with you.." She says. I smile. "Then let's go." I say, taking her hand and leading her out of my office.
As we are walking towards the stairs I see Dom and Jocelyn with Heather and Vince, getting ready to leave. "Lets say bye, then we can go to bed." She just nods. I walk over and Heather and Vince run over to hug me. "We will be back to visit sometime. Mom and dad said they'll bring us to play! Don't forget you still have to train us more! Are you gonna come back?" Vince asks. I feel Violet stiffen beside me. "I can't buddy. I need to stay in my pack now. I'm an Alpha. Besides I can't leave my mate." I tell him. He looks at Violet then at me. He gestures for me to lean down. I do and he leans forward to whisper in my ear. "Your mate is ready pretty." He says, making me smirk. "I know. She's beautiful." I say. "Are you talking about me?" Heather asks loudly. I chuckle as Vince turns to her. "No you're not pretty at all! You look like a toad!" He says to his sister, making everyone laugh. She gasps and pushes him. "I thought we talked about you calling your sister names Vincent." Jocelyn scolds him. She was the only one not laughing. "But momma I didnt call her names. I compared her to a toad." He says innocently, making me laugh harder. Jocelyn glares at me and I stop. "Either way. You be nice to your sister." She scolds him. He growns then turns to Heather. "I'm sorry I said you look like a toad. I won't do it again." He says. She glares at him still. "Well it's time we head home." Dom says, still chuckling. "See you around. I am sure we will visit you soon. Vi hasnt gotten to see your pack yet." I say and he nods.
I watch as they walk out of the house, leaving me and my mate alone. I turn to Violet. "Lets get you into bed." I say with a smile. She nods and then yawns. I smirk. She was adorable. I lead her upstairs. She stops at my door and looks up at me, waiting for me to open it. I smirk then open the door. Her scent is already in my room. That's weird. I don't remember having her in here. "You have already been here." I say, looking down at her. She blushes. "I slept here while you were gone... Every night.. It was the only way to keep your scent and to calm my wolf.." She confessed to me. I smile wide and hug her. "You are so cute." I say, making her giggle. I hold her close then look over and see my suitcase of what I had taken to Dom's pack. I release her and walk over to it. I pull out one of my shirts and throw it to her. She catches it and smiles at me. "Wear my shirt, and here." I walk over and grab a pair of shorts that were small on me. "You can wear these." I say, throwing them to her as well. She smiles and nods. I turn to close the drawer and when I turn back I growl. Violet had taken off her shirt and was slowly putting mine on. At my growl she look at me slowly. "What?" She asks. I fight my wolf back. He's fighting to break out and mark her right here and now. I can't let him do that. "Put the shirt on Violet." I growl lowly. She quickly does but he's still fighting me. I turn and walk into the bathroom, shutting the door and locking it. I turn on the cold water and step in with my clothes still on. I sit down and let the water run over me. I couldn't do this. I couldn't mark her when she's so young.
After a while I shut the water off. I slowly get out and dry off the best I can. I walk back out into my room and see Violet sitting on the bed with her head down. I step into my closet and change into shorts and a t-shirt. I walk back out. She hasn't moved. I walk over and sit beside her. "Little one what's wrong." I ask. She looks up at me with sad eyes. My wolf growls at me to help her. I put my arms around her. "What is it?" I ask gently. "You dont want me..." She says in a very quiet voice. I growl and she jumps. "What makes you think that?" I ask. She looks away. "You got mad.. when you.. saw me..." She says in reply. I sigh and shake my head. "You got the wrong idea little one. I was not mad, I can guarantee you that." I tell her. She looks up at me. "Then what was it... Don't you want me... I thought we were supposed to be mates..." She says in a sad tone, making my heart ache. "Little one I do want you. I want every little bit of you. But you're to young for me to be marking you right now. I want to wait till you are older, and ready. At least till you graduate." I explain. "I'm not to young... There are loads of girls my age who have been marked by their mates..." She says. I hear my wolf agreeing with her and fighting for control.
I get off the bed and walk away. "Don't say that." I say, gritting my teeth. I push my wolf back. "But why not?" She asks, louder this time. "Violet I'm already fighting my wolf for control. He wants to mark you and complete the mating progress right here and now. But you are not ready. You've barely experienced a relationship let alone that. Do you really want to just jump into something when you're only 17?" I ask. She looks away and I know my answer. "You need more time. We need to both experience a real relationship before jumping to the mating." I tell her, slowly walking back to her. My wolf had slowed down and I had control. "Ok.." She says softly, making me smile.
She looks up at me and I see the sadness is gone from her gaze. "So what kind of things do mates do before that then?" She asks. I smirk and use me finger to lift her chin. "We could try this. Fair warning, I've never done this before so I'm going off instinct." I chuckle. She looks confused. I lean down and press my lips against hers. She stiffens but responds by kissing me back. I pull away and give her a small smile. She smiles back and I lean my forehead against hers. "I've never done anything like that before.." I confess. She giggles and I smile at the sound. I kiss her nose and she giggles again. "We should get some sleep." I say. She nods and I smirk. I move the blanket and we slide under. I pull her close to me and kiss her softly. "Goodnight little one." I whisper. She snuggled up closer to me. "Goodnight." She says in a sleepy tone. I hold her close and let sleep take over.
