I Created Scientific Magic Chapter 661

Chapter 661: Chapter 549: The Prelude to the War of the Planes The sudden oppressive force made the arguing “High Lich” Cecil and “Dragon of Cold Winter” Walok halt in their tracks, shivering as they prostrated themselves. Within their blazing Soul Fire eyes, a shade of panic emerged. In an indescribable chaos, a majestic voice sounded above the entire mountain range, “Tell me what exactly is going on, Cecil?!” The annihilation of millions of undead at the same moment had naturally caught the attention and enraged the Lord of the Dead. “Great Lord of the Dead, it was the Chief Priest of the Moon God who sent an avatar here. He wielded a powerful divine artifact, destroying the land and mountains, intending to take us down with him,” the High Lich Cecil hurriedly explained. Although he had not yet confirmed the identity of the other party, the sheer magnitude of the spell cast by just an avatar couldn’t be possible without some form of reliance! “So it was just an avatar of a High Priest that defeated you… I must say, you disappoint me, Cecil!” The Lord of the Dead’s tone grew even colder. A chill rose from the depths of his soul, and before Cecil had a chance to further explain, a strong oppressive force enveloped every part of him. Even as a legendary Wizard of the ninth circle, in front of a true deity, Cecil was just as powerless. He floated upward slowly, horror etched on his decaying face. Cecil could clearly feel as if an invisible giant hand held him in its palm; every group of flesh and each bone in his body seemed to whimper in agony. Then, his entire body was cruelly crushed to pieces, leaving only a mist of blood permeating the air. Walok, the “Dragon of Cold Winter,” pressed his head deeply into the ground. He had always looked down on Cecil, but now he couldn’t help but feel a sympathetic sense of dread, worried that he might be the next to be crushed. However, just a few seconds later, Walok breathed a sigh of relief as the blood mist in the air quickly gathered and reformed into the shape of Cecil. Under the godlike powers of the Lord of the Dead, Cecil regained his Lich’s body and, with fervent prostration, said, “Thank you for your forgiveness, great Lord of the Dead. I will certainly offer up the world beyond the Space-Time Gate to you soon, and obliterate the Moon God and her believers with it!” Cecil, having just returned from a brush with death, his soul nearly crushed, was filled with lingering fear. “There will not be a next time!” echoed the Lord of the Dead’s indifferent voice across the foreign skies. Crushing Cecil’s body was a punishment, while remaking it was a boon. A ninth circle legendary Wizard still had some use, but his patience was limited. This time, he spared Cecil entirely because of the latter’s role in pioneering the assault on the realm of Moon Goddess Diana. “Is the task I gave you complete?” the Lord of the Dead suddenly asked in a deep voice. “Reporting back to the great Lord of the Dead, I already dispatched Shado to pursue the fugitives, and he should be able to send back word shortly!” Cecil quickly responded. “Shado is dead!” the somber and icy voice rang out again as the void chaos began to churn violently. Cecil’s heart leaped to his throat; the Soul Fire within his eyes trembled rapidly, clearly shocked by this unexpected news. That his body and part of the Soul Fire attached to it were utterly destroyed was because they were at the very heart of the energy impact. Just like Cecil, the undead Knight Koleen met the same ill fate, and even though Walok, who was farther away, was gravely wounded, he survived. How could Shado, who went after the fugitives, have met his demise so easily? Cecil was full of doubts but did not voice them. Since the Lord of the Dead himself declared Shado dead, there was no possibility of survival. What’s pressing now was how to deal with the Lord of the Dead’s reproach. Cecil had no doubt that if he said he couldn’t find the location of the Space-Time Gate, the capricious god would crush both his body and soul instantly. “I set up a Detection Barrier above these mountains previously. Those fugitives must have picked up traces of Magic Power when they passed through. I can locate the space-time nodes based on their trails!” Cecil said all this rapidly before the Lord of the Dead’s rage could erupt, and every word of it was true. Cecil did not dare lie in front of a deity. Only, such magical traces could be shielded or erased and were not a hundred percent certain, which was why he had specifically told Shado to follow them. “I hope you understand, my patience is always limited, Cecil! Just like your time!” The dull voice echoed between the mountains. After saying that, the Lord of the Dead no longer responded. Cecil slowly got to his feet, exhaling a breath tinged with frost. His life was saved—at last! “Cecil, have you really found the location of the space-time nodes? There is not much time left… The great Lord of the Dead will not give you a second chance,” Walok said mockingly, looking at Cecil who had narrowly escaped death. Cecil cast a dark glance at Walok’s battered body and said, “Since you’re in such a rush, then next time we attack, you can go first, Walok!”
