Dennis’s words resonated with the wizards, and many put forward their own methods to surpass the speed of light, such as finding a reference object with a sufficient speed, or more directly, firing two lasers forward and backward.
“It seems that you all haven’t finished reading my theory of relativity, or else you wouldn’t have such thoughts,” Lynn said with a sigh, interrupting the discussion.
“Are you referring to the relative formula of speed and time?” Anthony suddenly asked.
Unlike other wizards who could not resist questioning the theory after reading only the first half of the paper, Anthony, based on his trust in Lynn, had carefully read all of the manuscripts, though his doubts were more abundant than others.
What shocked him the most were the four major relative formulas mentioned; from these formulas, he saw the grand ambition of the Wizard of Magic, which was to unify energy, mass, velocity, and space-time, creating a power theory completely different from their cognitive understanding!
“Exactly,” Lynn nodded, then continued to explain. “The reason we cannot exceed the speed of light lies here because if an object’s speed changes, then the time it experiences will also change!”
According to the well-known formula for speed, distance equals speed multiplied by time!
Now, since the speed of light has become a constant value, the only thing that can change is time!
“Let’s assume a beam of light is traveling forward. To a standing observer, its speed is 300,000 kilometers per second. If at this moment you chase after the light at a speed of 150,000 kilometers per second, your flow of time, relative to that stationary observer, would be reduced to half. “Does that mean the faster we run, the slower the passage of time becomes?” Steg frowned, asking in return. “Then why don’t we notice any difference when we run normally, or even when we take a train, time doesn’t seem to change at all.”
“That’s because the speed is too slow; even the speed of a train is negligible compared to the speed of light, so the change in the flow of time is not apparent…” Lynn shrugged his shoulders, answering smoothly.
This undoubtedly explained why the speed of light is constant in the eyes of any observer, but to most wizards, time was mysterious and constant, at least in their universe, where no one’s second is longer or shorter than anyone else’s.
But according to the theories of this Wizard of Magic, the time for all people and even all material existence was relative and chaotic.
“Since it is difficult to measure the change in the flow of time at low speeds, how can we prove this?” Dennis asked with confusion.
“That’s also easy to handle. According to the formula for relative mass, velocity, and mass can be converted into each other, so large mass objects also have differences in the speed of the flow of time!” Lynn explained with a smile.
Dennis was initially stunned, but then he quickly realized and asked in astonishment, “Could it be… gravity?!”
Only gravity has the characteristic of being stronger with greater mass, while at the same time existing in all matter!
“Correct, it’s gravity!” Lynn nodded. “Time and space are one, inseparable. A distortion in space naturally causes changes in the flow of time.”
“I have already verified this.” Lynn took out a quartz clock and placed it on the table, then continued to speak.
