Chapter 635: Chapter 535: How Many Dimensions Does Our World Have?
“The Sun?” Listening to Darren’s tale, a hint of astonishment crossed Maka’s face.
“Yes, it’s a very large, self-luminous, and self-heating fireball… no, it should be called a plasma ball,” Darren boasted, showing off the sparse knowledge in his mind.
The amazed gazes of the natives brought him a sense of superiority that was extremely strong.
The half-people present whispered among themselves, and Maka too remembered the term from what he had heard within his tribe.
It seemed that long ago, their world also had a sun, but Maka had never seen it. He only knew from bits and pieces of ancestral sayings that it possessed endless light and heat capable of illuminating the vast earth. Its radiance was a hundred thousand times stronger than the glow emitted by the “Incandescent Mushroom” forests!
Maka simply couldn’t imagine what sort of force could fill the entire world with light!
Keep in mind, in this cold, dark foreign realm, light and heat were very precious resources.
Subconsciously, Maka assumed Darren must be lying, but he couldn’t help harboring some expectations because the outsiders had indeed demonstrated abilities beyond expectations.
For instance, they could conjure a soft, fluffy food out of thin air, and they could manipulate fire, frost, and lightning to effortlessly defeat powerful and dangerous magical beasts.
The High Priest had once expressed his envy, remarking that if the Moon God hadn’t left this world, they surely could have done the same.
Of course, this High Priest had already been killed for resisting the outsiders, his body turned into an ice sculpture and buried alongside his followers.
The remaining half-people were quite stable in emotion because in this God-forsaken world, the strong got everything, and it was only too clear that the weak had to submit.
In previous years, when the temperature of the foreign realm wasn’t so low, there were several tribes in this area. Plunder, enslavement, and killing were all common affairs.
Maka held no reverence or faith in the Moon Goddess Diana because since his birth, his tribe never ceased making offerings to the Moon God, yet the deity never cared for their wellbeing.
Perhaps, just as these outsiders had said, she had fallen!
A dead god naturally had no value left, not even able to offer a hint of hope.
“That Chairman Lynn you mentioned… Is he a god too?” Maka couldn’t help asking. In his understanding, a god was the most powerful being, the root of all miracles.
“No, he’s a Wizard, the most formidable Wizard!” Darren corrected.
“Wizard…” Maka repeated the word that was somewhat awkward to pronounce. It didn’t exist in his tribal language, so Darren used the common tongue of the Eternal Continent.
Maka etched this foreign word deep into his memory; in his eyes, a Wizard represented a powerful force, an existence as mighty as the gods.
“Since you can make a Sun, then can you…” Maka hesitated for a long time before gritting his teeth and saying, “Can you make one for us too?”
If their world had a Sun, then everything would surely get better, right?
At least they wouldn’t need to worry about light and heat anymore.
However, years of surviving in the foreign realm made Maka realize that there were no favors without cost, yet he couldn’t think of any bargaining chip they could offer.
Given that the existence of their entire tribe now hung on the outsiders’ whim, theoretically, their lives were the possession of the others. Maka couldn’t bring himself to use the belongings of others as a bargaining condition.
“Right, there’s also belief! As long as you can make us a Sun, we will offer our belief!” Maka suddenly thought of this and said decisively.
The freedom of thought was the only thing they owned. Since the Moon God needed or liked their worship, maybe the Wizards would want it too.

If these half-people brethren could truly make significant contributions, he felt that the council might be willing to construct a ‘Sun’ for them!
Under Darren’s encouragement, Maka and the others began to dream of a life filled with boundless light and warmth. Many half-people became even more intrigued by the world beyond the Space-Time Gate that Darren talked about.
Compared to the dark, deadly silence of the God-forsaken Land, teeming with dangerous beasts and undead, Darren’s described world, vibrant and cycling through day and night, seemed like heaven.
While the crowd of half-people buzzed with discussion, Rafael had already received the message that the scouts who went to explore the outside world had returned.
