Harrov glanced at Aurora and Vittorio, pondered for a moment, and then spoke with certainty, “If I am not mistaken, you must be one of the ancient wizards who experienced the War of Faith hundreds of years ago.”
That was the only possibility he could think of, as the Secret Magic Society boasted too many legends—precisely four. Such power was already a substantial threat to the Church, making conflict between the two inevitable.
Moreover, the growth of any legendary figure necessarily required a vast amount of resources, making anonymity highly unlikely.
Thus, there was only one possibility: the other party had not risen during the era governed by the Church.
Combining this with Albert Einstein’s words, the answer was quite clear: the chaotic period prior to the establishment of the Church was the only time so many legendary wizards could have emerged so densely.
“Correct!” Isaac Newton nodded in satisfaction and then continued along the lines of what Harrov had said.
“A wizard of the sixth ring is the limit that humans can reach, but the Moon God’s power far exceeds this limit. To break through to a higher realm, a group of wizards obtained many secrets from the remnants of the Moon God Church and developed a method to become divine. However, they could not solve the problem of the faith’s toxicity.”
“Many talented wizards thus went mad and became irrational Evil Gods, and the only solution was a relic of the Moon God—a Divine Essence…”
Lynn manipulated Isaac Newton as he eloquently discussed the history of that period, most of which he pieced together from books found in the Church, with some parts being conjectural.
However, that piece of history had been buried by the years and the Church’s clean-up, and the only one who knew everything, Eira, clearly would not provide them with answers.
“We did not partake in that conflict; we witnessed those crazy years and did not agree with such means of advancing to a higher realm, so we gathered many like-minded individuals, hoping to find a new method to become legendary, one that does not rely on faith or the plundering of souls!” Bo’er responded.
“It seems that you succeeded?” Aurora looked at Bo’er and his companions before her, who shone like stars in her perception.
“Succeeded, yet not succeeded. Our breakthrough was not perfect; we couldn’t solve the critical issue of energy supply, and thus it had many flaws.” Saying this, Bo’er glanced at Harrov, Aurora, and Vittorio, then added, “Fortunately, you seem to have already solved this problem.”
Harrov and the others turned their heads towards Lynn, whose energy supply for ascending to legend depended on Lynn’s nuclear fusion reactor!
“My ‘nuclear fusion reactor’ and the method for advancing with the Energy and Magic Body are indeed extensions developed based on your theories,” Lynn also offered an explanation, timely.
The very reason he created the Secret Magic Society was that he was aware that his magic research progress was incredibly fast, even defying all logical reasoning.
While history had seen its share of omnipotent geniuses like Newton, Tesla, Da Vinci, and others who excelled in broad domains and achieved stunning results,
even genius has its limits, and a complete overhaul of scientific theory could not be accomplished by one individual alone.
Moreover, he had just broken through as a great wizard not long before and had come up with a method for becoming a legend, solving a problem that Wizard Land had been researching for hundreds of years, and he had a profound understanding of the microscopic domain, which was clearly highly unreasonable.
Having the Secret Magic Society as a cover made advancing new ideas on an existing foundation much more acceptable.
While thinking about this, Lynn, manipulating Bo’er, continued speaking.
“By the time we developed the method to break through legend, Eira had already seized the Divine Essence and started to eliminate any wizards who could threaten her rule, and our newly formed society was also targeted.”
“Even with its flaws, the faith-based divination method could not be compared in terms of power enhancement to the ascension method we developed.”
“In order to find a way to defeat our adversaries, and to locate a suitable energy source for ascension, we eventually chose to enter the other side of the Space-Time Gate,” Bo’er succinctly stated.
This answer undoubtedly surprised Harrov and others, but upon reflection, it seemed quite normal. After all, that place was the origin and end of everything, the birthplace of the Moon God.
In the absence of a fusion reactor, if there was one place that could provide sufficient energy, it most certainly would be the other side of the Space-Time Gate!
“What exactly is on the other side of the Space-Time Gate?” Vittorio asked with immense curiosity.
Harrov and Aurora also grew interested. It was a question that had long puzzled them.
Bo’er shook his head. “Regrettably, we did not know before we left. The personnel sent to explore never returned, yet, given the circumstances at the time, we could only venture forth on our own risk!”
“Everything ahead was unknown and came with great risks. We also prepared for the worst possible outcomes,” Madame Curie added.
“Is that why you left behind this miniature universe?” Harrov was beginning to understand.
“Exactly. It is a spark and also a gift for those who come after us!” Isaac Newton interjected. “We collectively created this Magic Domain, leaving behind a part of our will and all our knowledge here, and we recruited capable and talented wizards in the hope of deriving a complete, replicable, and legendary ascension method for wizards.”
“Initially, it was just a vast dark space, but with knowledge and research brought by generations of scholars from the Secret Magic Society, it took the shape you see now.”
Aurora glanced around the vast universe space, imagining how much effort must have been required to create such a Magic Domain, fundamentally indistinguishable from the basic rules of the real world.
Einstein, Bo’er, and Madame Curie also spoke a few words each, perfecting the existence and setup of the “Secret Magic Society.”
As beings of knowledge and consciousness, they couldn’t leave this miniature universe, and could only deduce based on the knowledge they had. The iteration of knowledge depended on the members of the “Secret Magic Society” recruited, and ordinarily, they also needed to use their computing power to maintain the operation of the Mimic Universe and the stars.
They only briefly appeared when the world underwent changes.
For example, when a star was nearing its demise, or when they sensed a call from the outside world…
“The ‘Secret Magic Society’ has been in hiding previously, unwilling to engage in large-scale conflicts with the church, because it was basically meaningless. If we couldn’t find the method for legendary ascension, completely defeating the church and overthrowing it was nearly impossible, and would only expose ourselves unnecessarily!” Bo’er finally explained.
It took Harrov, Aurora, and Vittorio quite a while to thoroughly process this information, and their slight dissatisfaction and resentment towards Bo’er and the others instantly dissipated.
After all, there really was no way for them to take action. The fact that they could point them toward the path to legend was already the limit of what they could achieve.
“It seems Lynn was the one you selected!” Aurora remarked thoughtfully.
Isaac Newton nodded in agreement. “His talent in the field of magic studies is extraordinary. He’s the most likely to deduce the legendary ascension method. Thus, I suggested that he might try visiting the rumored Wizard Land, where he could perhaps find some assistance and gain access to more novel knowledge.”
At this, the expressions on Harrov and the others’ faces turned somewhat awkward.
