“That’s truly ludicrous. How can something be both a particle and a wave at the same time?” A grand wizard interrupted, his voice fraught with frustration. This was a clear insult to his intelligence.
The wizards in the auditorium also struggled to comprehend this so-called wave-particle duality; they simply couldn’t imagine such an existence with their minds.
“This wave is not the kind you understand as a mechanical wave. I refer to it as a probability wave!” Lynn continued to explain.
The so-called probability wave refers to the likelihood of microscopic elements appearing at a given point in space at a particular moment. For instance, when an electron passes through a slit, it could land anywhere on the photosensitive screen, though the probability is higher for it to fall within the interference stripe area.
However, this is in the absence of observation. Once the domain is unfolded and the position of the electron at that moment is confirmed, the electron will then proceed along the determined trajectory, landing precisely at that single point.
