I Can Assimilate Everything Chapter 264

Softly, gently, Rose floated forward. The Life Spring shimmered beneath her feet as she crossed the clearing, her green hair catching strands of starlight like woven silk. She stopped just before him, her violet eyes luminous as she looked at the dazzling bow he held up and down. "What… what did you just do?" she asked quietly, her voice barely above a whisper, as if afraid to break the fragile magic hanging between them. Achilles glanced down at the bow in his hands. The Heartstring of the Adrastia Dawn. Crimson gold brilliance danced across its surface, painting the air in shifting auroras of light. He ran a hand lightly along the curve of the weapon, as if grounding himself. "I had another Dream," he said, his voice calm, but deep with something heavier. "Another Lineage Memory." Rose's eyes widened slightly, breath catching. "Uncle Adras? Or someone else?" He shook his head, a faint smile curling the corners of his mouth. "No, my Great Grandfather, Vulcaryn Adrastia. Sixth Emperor King of our Lineage." Her expression softened into something more tender, more curious. "What was he like?" she asked, her voice filled with a kind of wistful wonder. Then, almost shyly, she added, "I wish I could see your family too. I wish I could meet them. Get their blessing…" She looked down briefly, her hands clasped lightly together, before glancing back up at him, lips pressing into a small pout. Achilles chuckled under his breath, the sound low and warm. "He would've liked you," he said honestly, meeting her eyes. "He was...power. Raw and unapologetic. Like a mountain made flesh. He worked with flames all his life as he was a blacksmith." He paused, his thumb brushing the grip of the bow. "And he gave some advice." Rose tilted her head, curious. Achilles smiled more fully, the glow of the Life Spring reflecting off his crimson-gold eyes. "He said—" he began, a teasing lilt entering his tone, "to keep my hands off too many women, that its just a headache." Then, as if that alone wasn't enough, he added, almost repeating Vulcaryn's words verbatim. "One good woman. One woman to bear you strong children. Heirs who would carry our name." Then she flushed slightly, but her violet eyes sharpened, the playful glint returning as she did not back down. "I see," she said slowly, voice dropping an octave. "Well…" She stepped closer, her arms reaching up around his neck, fingers threading into his hair. Achilles stood still, unflinching, his entire focus on her. Rose leaned in until there was barely any space left between them, her breath brushing his skin. "If you're planning to play house, Emperor King Adrastia," she murmured, her voice a soft dare, "you better be prepared. I'm not scared of anything you'll throw my way. Not storms. Not wars. Not even you." Her fingers tightened ever so slightly. "And don't you dare think about anyone else," she said, half stern, half teasing, a spark of challenge dancing in her eyes. "I won't even bother asking. I already know- my Achilles is too smitten with me." Before he could reply, she leaned in and kissed him. Firm, sure, but achingly tender. Her lips moved against his with a familiarity, a certainty that spoke of years yet to come- of battles fought side by side. Achilles wrapped his arms around her waist, pulling her against him, the Heartstring of the Adrastia Dawn still held loosely in his hand behind her back. For a long moment, there was nothing else. Only the two of them, wrapped in the quiet wonder of a love that did not need to shout to be heard. When they finally parted, Rose rested her forehead lightly against his. "Don't play with me, Little King," she whispered, the old name slipping from her lips with the ease of memory. "If you want a family, you better be serious." Achilles closed his eyes for a moment, feeling the truth of her words settle into his mind like a vow. When he opened them again, he smiled, small and true. "I'm serious, my Little Queen." Her lips curved into a smile of her own. And together, with the aurora still painting the night sky above them, they stood in the clearing, holding onto each other, the bow between them a promise wrought not just in starlight and blood. Achilles slowly lifted the Heartstring of the Adrastia Dawn, holding it out to her. "For you," he said simply. Rose blinked once, lips parting softly, before she extended her hands forward. The moment her fingers brushed the bow… Green flames surged from her palms, not wild or untamed, but focused, graceful, a testament to the woman she was. The emerald fire wrapped around the crimson gold bow like a lover's embrace, the two forces intertwining, harmonizing. The Heartstring of the Adrastia Dawn shuddered. As if recognizing its true owner, the bow dissolved into pure liquid light, a brilliant crimson gold tide that flowed along Rose's arm, spiraling like a serpent before condensing into a radiant sigil on the back of her hand. It pulsed once, twice, before settling- a seamless brand of intricate, royal script that shimmered faintly with her green flames. Rose gazed at it, eyes wide, wonder etched across her face. Achilles stepped closer, his voice low, rich with certainty. "Living Weapons one," he murmured, "grow alongside their wielder. They change. Evolve. As you become stronger… so will it." Rose nodded slowly, flexing her fingers. The sigil glowed faintly in response, as if already eager to serve her will. Achilles' gaze softened. "I plan to forge more," he continued, glancing skyward where the aurora still bathed the heavens in their silent glory. "Tonight. There's only one day left until the Triarcan Keep." Rose tilted her head, the mischievous light in her violet eyes igniting like a spark. "Well," she said lightly, her voice a velvet tease, "can't your Primordial Avatar handle the forging?" Achilles blinked, brow arching in mild amusement. Rose stepped closer, until there was no space between them again, her smile both daring and impossibly bright. "Because," she said, almost in a whisper, "I think your Great Grandfather would be even prouder if you stopped all the talk… and actually gave him the progeny you promised. You are the big Adrastia Emperor King right? The Ninth one? The Last one?" Achilles froze for a fraction of a second, his mind processing her words, her meaning. Starlight exploded around them, a cascading eruption of violet, gold, and crimson brilliance that blanketed the Life Spring and the surrounding forest in a shimmering haze. His gaze became firm as if he was challenged, and the challenger…truly did not seem to know how smitten he was. So he would show her. The air crackled with energy, the night bending, folding, shielding. Nothing-no sound, no sight- could pierce through what happened in the heart of the Primal Neon Tower. Only the stars bore silent witness. And they, too, seemed to hold their breath.
