Draco POV
One week after burying Deanne, Aspen and I lay out a plan to kill the Alpha. I am ready to avenge my sister. Tia deserves vengeance for Fia. That is next on our list. First the Alpha, then Craig and his bitch ass wife. The four of us will make them pay for what they are doing.
The vampire authority has stepped up and is working on regulating the auctions, but it does not help much with the current situation. It is still a perverse, disgusting practice that needs to be stopped. I am sure the authority will find a way to make a quick buck in this situation. They always find a way to benefit themselves.
Angela is still grieving for Deanne, but she is all the way in and ready to stop the auctions any way she can. She is a warrior, and so is Tia. Tia has agreed to stay with me for a while to help. She is becoming like a little sister to me. Another one I have to worry about on a daily basis. It is not that I do not enjoy her company, but after she gets her revenge for Fia, I think Tia should move on with her life and try to make something of herself. That would make me happy. I am sure Fia does not want Tia fighting wolves for the rest of her life.
"Draco, will Jeb be helping us?" Aspen asks me.
I shake my head. "Yes, he is all in just like the girls," I answer him.
"Good, because there are a lot of wolves at the work camp," Aspen says.
"Yeah, but do you not think the women there will revolt once we start fighting?" I ask him.
Aspen thinks for a moment. I wonder where his mind is going. He is thinking for a while. "Here is the problem. The collars can track them. If we free them from the collars, they will help us. When the fighting starts, Tia and Angela need to be making the rounds taking the collars off of every woman there, " Aspen says.
"Can you show them how to remove the collars?" I ask him.
"Oh, yeah, it is fairly simple to take off if you are not wearing one. Once they free a few, the ones they free can start helping the others out of their collars. If they know there is no punishment for taking the collar off, they can help each other," Aspen says.
"Well, there you go. The women will be our battle strategy. They will help us fight. Just remember, the Alpha is mine. I want to kill him myself," I say.
"Yeah, well, you better beat Angela to him. She will kill him if given a chance," Aspen says.
Aspen lays out a map for me. He goes over all the waterways, the cabins, and the complete layout of the work camp. The Alpha's house is the most protected. He has the most security. The women are too scared to run. There are only three wolves at each row of cabins. He goes into detail about each wolf and their weakness and strengths so we can plan accordingly.
By the end of the night, we are ready. Angela and Tia sleep while we make the plans. We can go over everything with them when they wake up. "Do you think any of the wolves there will revolt against Alpha?" I ask Aspen.
"No, they are all loyal to him. They will not betray him," Aspen says.
"Are you sure?" I ask him.
"Yeah, I got a good feel for everyone when I was there; they are loyal," Aspen says.
I pat Aspen on the shoulder. "Listen, after this is over, I want you to take Deanne and go. I am going to encourage Tia to move on when she has her vengeance for Fia. There is no reason for the three of you to be trapped in this," I say.
"Draco, I would love to stay and help you if I did not have Angela, but I think she deserves more than this. She deserves a life," Aspen says.
"She does deserve a life, and I will make damn sure she gets one," I say.
Aspen leaves the map and goes up the stairs to be with Angela. My mind goes to Deanne. I try not to think of my failure with her. I feel the need to defend myself and the decisions I made with her, but the truth is she went in because she wanted to help end the auctions. She wanted these auctions to stop, and if I had told her not to go, she still would have gone without my permission.
The auctions became a battle Deanne, and I both wanted to end. There will be hell to pay for Deanne's death. Alpha, for what you did to my sister, you will suffer. You best believe I am coming for you with everything I have. You will not survive the night when I come knocking. I will be her vengeance, and you will be dead when I am done.
I walk out of the house and sit on the back patio. I sit staring into the darkness. I feel alive and dead at the same time. I feel the need to scream and kill all in her name. I want to hear you beg for your life, and then I will take it anyway. I carry your name in my pocket, and it is marked for death, you bastard!
I feel a soft touch on my shoulder. I turn to see Tia. "I am worried about you. I see so much hate in you. The same hate I felt just a week ago when Fia died. It is so hard to carry all of that hate, Draco," Tia says.
Tia sits down beside me. "I have carried hate a long time, Tia. Long before you, long before my sister died, this hate has to be released. I am going to give it to Alpha, and then I am going to give it to Craig and his wife. That one is for you and Fia. I... I... " I stop speaking and start crying.
Tia sits in my lap. She wipes the tears from my face. "Draco, you need to cry, and you need to grieve for Deanne," Tia says.
I look away from Tia. "I am sorry, but there is no time to grieve. There is only time to kill the wolves," I say to her.
Tia kisses my forehead. "You are like my big brother, Draco. I do not want to see you self-destruct. I am here for you, always. I will stay will you as long as you need me," Tia says.
Tia leaves me. I know she cares about my well-being, but it is too late. I am already on the path of self-destruction and redemption. At least Angela and Aspen will have a chance at happiness. On the other hand, I will carry destruction with me; I will speak for the ones that cannot speak for themselves. I will be their vengeance. I guess Tia is along for the ride.
