I Am The Only Witch Hunter Chapter 35

There were two sequences of signs relating to this process. First was the separation of the sulfur. The separation signs consisted of three signs. First signs had the palms facing each other, positioning in front of the alchemist chest. The index fingers slightly curved and touched each other. The other fingers straightened and touched their counterparts. When Siderius completed the sign, the sulfur circle lit up and started to burn. The second sign had the palms pointing at the alchemist chest, left palm on top of right palm. The fire enveloped the bones when Siderius did this sign. The third sign had the fingers weaved to each other then the two palms slowly departed away. The bones were covered inside a fireball and it levitated off the ground slightly. As Siderius’ palms departed, the fireball splitted into two, separating the calcium and phosphorus inside the bones. Separation was complete. Next was the crystalization. This sequence was purely to contain the phosphorus inside a safe crystallized wall to prevent its toxic nature from leaking out. The salt surrounded the fireball that had phosphorus and began to form a sphere. Both fireballs were gone. The salt stuck onto the white phosphorus powder and formed a clear crystal stone. On the left, the calcium powder landed on the ground gently. Start the combustion process to separate the elements. Animal Bones: Phosphorus (P) + Calcium (C) Any type of Animal Bones, containing high concentration of Phosphorus and Calcium. Core crystallization. Stabilize the phosphorus and seal it inside a safe container. The element in its purest form, sealed within a crystallized salt container to avoid unwanted reaction. - Calcis Ossivitae: 🜃 Earth Element Also known as Bonedust. High calcium concentration. Could be purified further to extract calcium. An important binding agent for many formulas. Siderius picked up the clear Phosphorus crystal. The alchemical process was a success. He now had pure Phosphorus. Phosphorus could be used for the Blightburn Tonic he was intending while the Bonedust would be important for another type of tonic later down the line. Siderius carefully collected the bone dust inside his material pouch. The phosphorus crystal was stored separately in another wooden box. Phosphorus was too toxic and reactive to bring with you. Siderius already made a wooden box from carving a big tree branch. He buried it near his camp to make sure no animal would have a look at it while he’s gone. His Blightburn Tonic needed Phosphorus, elemental plants and alcohol as the main ingredients. He already had the Phosphorus and alcohol. Now he needed to find suitable replacements for the plants. Siderius strapped on his sword, the hunter’s knife on his right side and the assassin’s knife at his back. He ventured into the woods looking for herbs. Fire plant was the easiest to identify. Due to its aggressive and volatile nature, Fire plant would always show its element explicitly. This included Fire-like appearances, red to orange color, the ability to easily catch on fire and many more. Siderius would first focus on color. He intended to pick any type of plant with a fire color. Fire color could easily be mistaken for crimson red or deep red. Fire colors included orange, orange-red, yellow-red or a mix between all of them. Crimson-red or deep-red did not exhibit fire element, instead it leaned toward poison or blood. Never ate a red mushroom was a typical saying in Siderius’ old world. It was a sure way to get yourself poisoned. Near the river bank where Siderius had hunted the buffalo, he found a few short herbs that stayed just a bit out of reach of the water. Its flowers were bright red with yellow stripes on it. Siderius picked this herb and put it into his pouch. On the river, Siderius also found a unique type of floating lily pads. Its circular leaves spread out on the water surface with its roots dangling freely under the water. The root had a blueish color that could be a sign for the Water element. This type of aquatic plant may have some anti-inflammatory characteristic to it and could be used as a replacement for the sub reagent. He took some of it with him. Siderius continued to explore the woods. The river ran from the Rottin Woods straight to Mucktown. It was the main source of water for the people of this area. Further west was a range of hills and rocky mountains, where Siderius’ shelter resided. In the south was a small area with high grass that Siderius considered to stay before. He went into the high grass to look for herbs. He found a type of vine climbing at the edge of this grassland. Its body had streaks of yellow, indicating a potential of Fire element. Siderius put some of them in his pouch. He also found a unique type of shrub, a medium size tree with very tough gray bark. Siderius picked some of the bark to take home. Hardened surface was usually a sign of Earth element, which could also act as a protection against the Fire plant destruction. A potential sub reagent. To the east of this clearing, near the entrance of the Rottin Woods was a small clearing with short grass. There were a lot of herbs in this area and also a lot of wasted carcass. This area was a very good place for short, medium plants to grow. The perfect food for herbivores. Predators also knew this so they always hid around to hunt the naive grass-eating animal coming for food. Siderius even saw remains of what could be a deer on the ground. It was mauled to death and a big chunk of its stomach was torn out. The beast who killed it didn’t know how to preserve its food so the corpse had been left here to rot. The deer was already decomposing and its meat was filled with bacteria and gave off a disgusting rotten smell. Bone sour, the smell of spoiled meat. A horrible rotten smell. The gut bacteria had eaten into its flesh, turning it into the most toxic kind of food. It was irreversible and maybe only scavengers like the vulture could eat it. Siderius walked around the clearing for a bit and found a herb that may fit to be the replacement of Embercoal. The veins were bright orange red. Its leaves were warm to touch, feeling like a cool down charcoal. This plant seemed promising. Siderius gathered this plant and returned to the hills area for one last search. The hills were bare and bald, consisting almost of empty soil and rock. These types of hill rarely had any kind of plants on it. However, if a plant was able to survive, it was for sure a resilient or resourceful kind. Which could represent the Earth element. Siderius anticipated nothing from these hills. But to his surprise, he was able to find a special thin clover plant that lived in the crevices of the rocks. They stayed high at the top of the hills and even for its fragile body, it wasn’t blown away by the wind. This could be a potential Air element plant. Siderius took it then returned to his shelter for further experiment.
