Should I say it's a coincidence or a twist of fate? The System's intervention?
To be honest, I didn't think I would meet Albert Wesker at this point.
Yes. I met the man himself, Albert fucking Wesker.
I was just a bit shocked to see that this guy was still alive at this point.
I thought he was impaled by a prototype Tyrant and went into hiding or something like that. Or did my memory fail me?
Naturally since this wasn't a pure Resident Evil world, the event might be different. There might be something that made him take this position right here and now when I visited.
Timeline and something trivial like that had been thrown into chaos by the System. My presence alone could have caused a major change to this world.
Even so, it seemed like my presence wasn't that significant yet. At best, the changes I caused were factored into Highschool of the Dead world.
But then, Miss Rika was also in Chicago instead of Japan when the outbreak happened, and that changed everything. I knew for a fact that she played a major role here.
Also, Racoon City hadn't been destroyed yet, so that meant the timeline had shifted.
Anyway, this man was Albert Wesker.
And yes, the fact he was here was surprising to me.
But I tried my best to not show any sign of my nervousness.
I shook his hand and gave a confident smile.
"Daiki. Nice to meet you, Mr. Wesker."
His smile turned to a smirk and we separated.
"I heard you have important information and item with you." His smile faded as his expression turned to that of seriousness, "I assume you brought them with you."
"I do have the information, but the item is left behind in Alaska." I said, giving the best smile I could muster, "I have a few conditions that must be fulfilled before I can tell you anything."
I felt Rika's and Leon's eyes on my back, as they stood behind me. They didn't know what kind of virus sample and information that I had.
And I was pretty confident that they didn't expect I would negotiate with the military, especially Miss Rika.
Wesker crossed his arms and raised his brow, "Conditions?"
"First of all, our safety. I want all of us to be in the protection of the military and have access to all facilities inside this military HQ, the one that's not prohibited."
I raised one finger. And then another.
"Second, we will get food, clean water, clothes, and everything we need during the stay. Third, I want access to the Internet. And fourth, I want permission to visit a certain place near Chicago." I put up three fingers in front of me.
The last one was my own request.
Wesker put his hand on his chin and rubbed it. He hummed, "I see. That's not hard at all. I thought you would ask for something unreasonable. I accept your conditions, except the fourth one. I will decide after you give me the virus and the information."
"That's reasonable. Deal."
"Then, please give the item first." Wesker offered his hand, "We can't let anyone outside to have the information about the virus. So the faster you can give me that, the better."
Was giving Weker the Las Plagas a good idea?
No, it was definitely a bad idea.
However, having the virus in my pocket wasn't a good idea either. It would put a large target on my back and there would be someone targeting my head sooner or later.
I had the virus in a special container, hidden in my jacket's pocket. And now, I gave it to Wesker without any second thoughts. It was the best way to get the military to protect us.
And to be honest, it was also to make sure I wasn't targeted by Wesker or any of the people that worked under him.
Not now when I wasn't strong enough yet.

I'd like to have at least 40 all stats before having Wesker as my enemy. For now, he wasn't my problem and the Las Plagas parasite should be in his care.
The blonde man took it and observed it under the sunlight.
"So, where did you find it?" Wesker asked.
"It's from an Umbrella facility in Japan. I think it's called Las Plagas." I said, revealing information that Wesker surely knew. And then, I threw a bait. "Only I read the documents that I brought with me. I haven't told my friends about it yet."
Right now he had a limited option to kill someone because he was still undercover. By saying only I knew the document, he would only focus on me if he wanted to eliminate someone.
Only I knew about the virus and had knowledge about Umbrella Corporation's research.
Then I handed him the documents I kept safe inside a bag.
Wesker accepted the documents and flipped through the pages, reading some of the information inside. He then put it on the table behind him and took out a cigar, lighting it with a match.
He smoked a few puffs of the cigar before turning to me again, "Why haven't you told your friends about it?"
"I don't think it is something they should worry about. And it's not something they need to know." I answered with confidence, "It's not like they will need the knowledge. I just flip it around to see the zombie image and find their weakness."
Prioritizing the knowledge of how to defeat zombies and not the whole virus research.
That was the lie that I gave Wesker.
He chuckled at my response.
"You seem to be pretty calm in a situation , kid."
"I am a survivor." I replied.
"And you are not wrong. The others don't need to know about this." Wesker smiled, "We'll keep it secret. And I will also grant your request."
I nodded and he turned away, taking another smoke of his cigar. Then, he looked at Rika, who was watching our conversation quietly.
"You've been working for a long time and you've done a great job. Take some time off." He said, "You too, Leon."
The two nodded at him.
Then we left the room, leaving the blonde alone with his document. When the door was closed, Rika lit a cigarette and grinned at me.
"Do you want a smoke? You are old enough to try it." She offered me the pack and her lighter.
"I don't think it is the right time to get into a vice like smoking, Miss Rika." I said, smiling. "I'll pass."
"Yeah, maybe you are right." The tanned woman patted my head and chuckled, "Well, that was a surprise. You totally handle that pretty well. A normal kid your age wouldn't be so bold, you know."
"Like I said, I'm a survivor."
Rika laughed, "Right."
She turned around to face Leon and gave him the same pack. He accepted the offer with a grateful nod, taking one cigarette from her and lightening it up.
"So where are the girls?"
"Ah, I told them to go to the cafeteria first and get some food." Leon answered, exhaling the smoke.
Rika took a puff of the smoke from her cigarette, and blew out a cloud of white smoke. She looked at me and smiled.
"Well, we should go there too." She said, "You haven't eaten yet, right?"
"I haven't." I answered, feeling the growl of my empty stomach. "I'd like to get some fresh food."
