After experiencing endless nightmares and memories, Gao Ming finally entered the memory of the God of the Future. There, he took the same path taken by the God of the Future. A tiny consciousness in a haunted house grew to become a divine consciousness that controlled a whole city.
Living deep inside the shadow world, worshipped by endless disciples, Gao Ming and the God of the Future became God-like presences in the shadow world. However, the path they chose was completely different.
The eternal night fell. The humanmade sun in the city was like a candle in the wind. It could be extinguished at any moment. The citizens were frightened. The first thing they did was not to pray to Gao Ming for protection but to utilise their ghost tattoo. They worked together with the ghosts that called the city their home.
The chill winds howled. Groups of refugees moved towards the city. Their faces were haggard, and their eyes flashed with venom. Most of them were ill. When they attacked the city, Gao Ming opened his eyes in the old house located in the centre of the city. He noticed a monstrous creature that was a conglomeration of ghosts and humans. They carried an altar. On top of the altar was a mud figurine that looked like Gao Ming. The figurine exuded a horrifying presence. 18 monsters were required to carry it.
After sensing Gao Ming’s gaze, the mud figurine opened its eyes. The power of faith pierced through the dark night and shot into Gao Ming’s eyes.
As the mud figurine opened its eyes, two of the monsters couldn’t sustain the pressure and exploded on the spot. The remaining monsters slowed down. However, the other monsters filled in the space quickly. They carried the altar to approach the city. The refugees and monsters were poorly clothed, and their eyes shone with hatred. Happiness was missing in their lives. However, their faith in God was immensely strong.
The God of the Future saw Gao Ming. Gao Ming’s consciousness was tortured by curses for bearing the sins of the whole city. He was even rejected by the shadow world. He was sinful for bringing the embers of hope into the shadow world. Hope was ugly in this place.
The refugees launched suicidal attacks on the city, but they couldn’t break down the defences. Their God didn’t care about their deaths. The pair of wicked eyes didn’t leave Gao Ming. For the God of the Future, its disciples were exhaustible. As long as it still had faith, everything could be restarted. The key to ending this nightmare was to consume the other. The figurine curled its lips. The immense power of faith combined with the strong determination to form a giant wave to swallow the city.
The defence was shattered instantly. The horrifying presence arrived at the old home. The beams creaked, and the walls swayed. Gao Ming’s tattered consciousness rose with the curses to fight the God of the Future. He did his best, but his consciousness was so weak that the God of the Future didn’t even care much about him. However, to prevent future accidents, the God of the Future didn’t hold back. The monsters outside the city died horribly. All the power of faith was gathered on the God of the Future. It had done the worst things in the world, but its faith was so pure. It was like a sharp blade.
The blade easily cut through Gao Ming’s consciousness. God tormented Gao Ming’s faith with great cruelty. The imagined resistance didn’t occur. The thing that confused the God of the Future was how smoothly things were going.
“God should not have kindness or human emotions.”
Gao Ming’s soul blood dirtied God’s hands. The shredded consciousness entered the God of the Future’s consciousness. As if tired of this game, the God of the Future severed Gao Ming’s consciousness with one last slash.
The old home that survived many ages collapsed. The God of the Future stood on the ruins. Its birth place became Gao Ming’s cemetery.
The Demon God’s prestige overwhelmed the city. However, when God tried to take over the city, something unexpected happened. He felt resistance. The divine gaze moved. The resistance came from a child about five. His presence was as insignificant as an ant, but this ant dared to challenge God.
The God of the Future felt Gao Ming’s shadow on the child. Before his eyes, the child started to resemble Gao Ming. At the same time, similar things occurred all over the city. The citizens who fought back the refugees turned to look at the collapsed old house. Their conviction was not shaken. The seeds Gao Ming planted in their hearts had grown into trees. Faith and hope were rooted in every citizen’s heart.
The God of the Future intended to crush everyone in the city, but it felt painful. It scanned its body. The God of the Future realised that Gao Ming’s cursed soul blood had seeped into its consciousness. Gao Ming’s consciousness fragment, which was hated by the shadow world and carried a lot of curses, also drilled into the God of the Future’s body.
Gao Ming was ready to die. He spread the seeds of hope and prayed that everyone in the city could become their own hope.
The future could always be altered. Fate was not permanent. He would use everything he had to prove this. Even if he would perish, he had to spread this belief.
Filled with unknown and unable to be pinned down… Rife with endless possibilities… That was the true meaning of the future.
Gao Ming didn’t waste the curses he had collected over the years. He combined with the consciousness of the God of the Future. When the God of the Future’s consciousness was invaded, someone started something in the city. They shouted the hope that Gao Ming had brought them and exploded the power in their ghost tattoo. The living humans started to fight against God.
Dark patches appeared on the mud figurine. Demon Gods were extremely powerful. A single one could break through the shadow world’s limitations. However, the Dream Ghosts were not weak either. They could turn things upside-down.
The shouts in the city didn’t come from God but from the humans who were viewed as ants by God. Led by Gao Ming’s consciousness for years, he had handed over his future to his disciples.
The curses exploded in the God of the Future. Even the weakest child dared to attack God. It wanted to use its weakening power to murder the humans in the city. It believed that would frighten them. However, it underestimated these humans.
They found light in the permanent darkness. They wouldn’t let go so easily.
The mud figurine cracked. The God of the Future’s consciousness weakened. Everyone in its eyes looked like Gao Ming.
In this competition of faith, the God of the Future knew that it had lost. Gao Ming’s will had been transferred to everyone’s heart. Gao Ming died but had achieved immortality.
“To murder the divine with the human. Is this the true future?”
The irrepressible curses spread through the God of the Future. Everything Gao Ming did was for this moment. He planned to die with the God of the Future so that he could exchange an undisturbed future for the citizens of the city.
