Fan Li held the piece of school uniform, and his gait was light. Even though the room numbers were dates of death, Fan Li felt he was walking on the path of life.

“Wang Jie, I finally found you!” When Xi San saw the man, he immediately rushed to him. Wang Jie, who stood at the edge of a pile of corpses, didn’t expect to run into others. He didn’t reunite with Xi San instantly. He raised a strange-looking blade and stared at Xi San and Fan Li coolly.
“It’s me!” Xi San revealed the code they had set up at Han De Private Academy. Then, Wang Jie’s expression softened.
Wang Jie shook his head and licked the blood from his blade. His action caused everyone to frown. The blood was not only dirty but also rife with curses. However, Wang Jie didn’t show any discomfort after eating it. Instead, he looked like he enjoyed it greatly.
When he got close, Xi San discovered the curses underneath Wang Jie’s collar. He looked like the flesh Gao Ming from Everlasting Life Apartments. “How did you find this place?”
Xi San was afraid of the new Wang Jie, but he still told the truth. “We want to enter the God of the Future’s room. That is where the exit is.”
“Do you want to go there too?” Wang Jie’s eyes narrowed like a hungry leopard.
“Who has been there before?” Fan Li was a volunteer police officer. For some unknown reasons, he hated Wang Jie instinctively.
Wang Jie opened his bloody lips and said slowly, “Gao Ming.”
“I was thrown into the worst future in this building. I was hunted by my uncles and grandfather. However, they somehow mutated into Gao Ming’s parents. His one person’s worst future is enough to bring despair to all of us. How unfair is that?” Wang Jie studied his blade. “I tried every method to hunt down Gao Ming’s parents. Perhaps I killed too many of them that Gao Ming found me and brought me here.” Wang Jie pointed down the corridor. “Normal eyes can’t see the room of the God of the Future. If you want to enter it, you have to accept the mutation just like I did.” Wang Jie opened the buttons of his shirt. His skin was covered in curses. His fingers had joined with the strange blade. The blade was the one suffering the pain on his behalf.
“Come. Hold my hand.” Before Xi San could reject him, Wang Jie grabbed him. Xi San’s eyes widened. The corridor in his eyes changed. Every door became a living human bound by black threads. They were like human specimens.
“The shell is the room of the soul. These humans are the accommodation the God of the Future has prepared for itself.” Wang Jie had Xi San hold the others. They walked past the people in pain and stopped before a little girl. The girl looked so pure and innocent like she hadn’t been tainted by the world.
“We’re here. This is the room of the God of the Future.” Wang Jie stared at the woman’s white skin and tried to suppress the curse within him.
“God’s room is a little girl?! Has its consciousness been living inside her heart?” Fan Li was suspicious. Then, something unexpected happened. The girl’s blank gaze turned to the baby in Fan Li’s arms. Her silvery laugh echoed with the baby’s cry. Shadow flowed out of the back of the girl’s head and enveloped everyone.
The door turned. The doors of the heart and brain were opened. The girl’s body teetered to the side. The flesh was pulled along by threads. The group entered her memory.
The girl was like an intermediary station between the real and illusory worlds.
The group entered the room behind the girl. They were drawn by what they saw.
It was unclear where God found this girl. Her heart was pure and clean. There was not a bit of dust. Every surface was white. However, due to the God of the Future’s intervention, there was a dirty and deformed heart in the middle of the flawless room.
“Stop.” Luo Dong and the female ghost, who was three metres tall, stood on both sides of the heart. Gao Ming kept his head lowered. One hand was on the heart. Black blood leaked out of his chest. He looked like he had lost his soul.
“Move!” Fan Li carried the baby and ran forward when he saw Gao Ming. This was his first time meeting Luo Dong.
The female ghost opened her arms to reveal her fingers, which were dripping with soul poison. Fan Li wasn’t scared off. He summoned his ghost face. “Gao Ming! We brought you Gao Yun and the God of the Future’s flesh!”
“They will not let you over!” Wang Jie scoffed. “I’m his old classmate, and I can only stay outside. They probably have been tricked too many times by the God of the Future and don’t trust anyone anymore.”
The giant heart jumped. Human faces appeared on its surface. Each face represented a consumed future, including the ones from the female ghost’s parents. Gao Ming was in a strange state. His face was slowly changing as if he was immersed in the despairing future. Even if he had to experience all the pain, he had to find the solution.
