When he awakened at Everlasting Life Apartments, he was so happy because he thought his chance had arrived. However, he was still in Gao Ming’s palm. The parents were about to catch up to them when a thick scent of blood came from the elevator well. With a crisp ding, the silvery elevator doors opened not far away from them. A newbie wouldn’t dare to take the elevators in an anomaly. It was equivalent to trapping oneself inside an enclosed space.
“Aunties, uncles, please calm down!” A man’s trembling voice came out of the elevator. Fan Li turned towards it out of curiosity. The moment he did, his eyes were welded to the elevator. A cold sweat slid down his forehead. The four walls of the elevator were covered with talismans. Each talisman was written with Room Numbers and Gao Ming’s names. In the middle of the booth, a few middle-aged couples covered in black threads were bound together. They kept taking out new talismans from underneath their clothes. “Are these all Gao Ming’s parents?!” He Jing’s eyes widened. He didn’t know how to respond.
“Don’t act ! I know where Gao Ming is! Calm down!” To Fan Li and He Jing’s surprise, stuffed in the middle of the couples, there was a man’s voice. He sounded so scared but he still shouted at the top of his lungs.
“Is there someone inside the elevator who knows where Gao Ming is?” Fan Li saw the corner of the school uniform. It was similar to the one Gao Ming was wearing! Even though the person didn’t sound like Gao Ming, he wore a uniform similar to Gao Ming’s. After a moment’s hesitation, he pulled out his knife, handed Xia Yang to He Jing and rushed towards the elevator. The tragedy triggered something within Fan Li. A ghost face flickered underneath his normal appearance. Fan Li stabbed the knife into the twisting man and caught the man who was caught inside. “Give me your hand!”
Gao Ming’s parents slowly turned their heads around. They held the talismans with the black lines and looked at Fan Li madly. All the talismans inside the elevators moved. They emitted children’s giggling.
“Run! To the underground parking lot!” Fan Li held onto the man that he rescued from the elevator. The man initially wanted to thank Fan Li but once he heard Fan Li was heading to the underground parking lot, his previously-pale face became even paler.
“Wait! The underground parking lot is a corpse disposal centre! A giant horror has been nurtured there!” The man in the school uniform tried to stop Fan Li but to no avail. He was forcibly dragged along. “It’s over now. I thought I had survived, but I had escaped from the pot into the fire!”
The winds slashed their cheeks. Fan Li, who rushed ahead, was like a demon. He kicked down the safety door. He ignored his own safety. He just wanted to drag the cursed parents underground.
“The God of the Future created Gao Ming’s parents. This means that Gao Ming’s biggest weakness is his parents. Based on this situation, Gao Ming must have encountered some problems. He most likely can’t bring himself to harm his parents even if they have been turned into monsters…” Fan Li started to think, “Everyone has indescribable pain in their heart. “Pause! Halt!” The tall young man in the school uniform grabbed a security post. “The uncles and aunties aren’t chasing us anymore! We can stop!”
Fan Li slowed down. He turned around to look. He waited for the mutated parents, but only scattered talismans remained in the corridor. The parents seemed unwilling to head underground. They went elsewhere to collect more curses.
Seeing this, Xia Yang sighed in relief. He was about to say something when his injury tore open. He could only cough.
“Did you just call them aunties and uncles? How are you related to them?” Fan Li assessed the handsome man cautiously.
“My name is Xi San. They are my good brother’s parents.” Xi San adjusted his clothes. He reached into his pocket to ensure that his ‘present’ was still there.
“Do you know Gao Ming?”
“Of course. I’m also from Class 13.” Xi San’s casual statement caused a great change in Fan Li and He Jing’s expressions.
