“have you checked the phone one last time and confirmed Andrew didn't call” Ace asked Shaw as they prepared to leave.
“yep,he hasn't called” Shaw said. “good,I knew something is wrong,let's wait for his reaction when I get there. this would determine what to do next” Ace said.
Ace dressed in his hoodie as usual and went out with Shaw,they drove to Andrew place, After parking in a safe distance as usual,Ace went alone to meet him.
“This is it” Ace said and took a deep breath,he knocked and the door opened,“morning dude”, Andrew said as he opened the door for Ace to come in.
Ace went in and sat down, “i have come back with the keys” He said and looked at Andrew face, “oh the keys..I have been waiting, do you know how much trouble you've put me into for bringing it late” Andrew said stammering.
“Am sorry I forgot ” Ace said and stood up,“no problem bro,I'll return it quickly”,Andrew said and threw the keys on his table.
Ace turned to leave,he stopped, “you still have the number I used to call you yesterday ” Ace asked. “sure, I saved it with,ACE MY MAN!” Andrew said and laughed, “but why did you ask anyways” he said.
“Nothing, just wanted to confirm ” Ace said and left, Andrew opened the door and peeped outside, “next time you are coming,we are gonna have a drink,I don't care if you don't drink alcohol" .Andrew yelled.
“ok!!” Ace said and continued walking, “He still remembers I don't drink alcohol,True though cause I haven't drank any until I found some in the house Phil gave me,I only wanted to taste a little cause someone once told me, Drink can cure depression,I ended up getting drunk” Ace thought as he walked to the truck.
“that was the reason that crazy bitch got the opportunity to take advantage of me” he continued. He got to the truck and got in. “how did it go” Shaw asked him.
“as I expected, he is on Greg's side,he is not too smart, he has invited Me for a drink tomorrow ” Ace said.“He is obviously gonna try to poison you” Shaw said, “of course he will, and when he does, he'll end up drinking the poisoned himself,trust me on that one” Ace said.
They both chuckled. They drove home to rest. Barely getting home,They received a call from Jane, “So are you gonna help me or not” she said to Ace.
“I'll do it” Ace said reluctantly, “yes” Jane yelled, “come quickly, and don't forget to dress nicely,you can borrow a suit from Shaw if you don't have one” Jane said and droped the call.
“borrow a suit,Am not wearing any suit!” Ace yelled...
“The suit looks very cute on you” Shaw said,“You call this cute, this is too tight!” Ace yelled. He looked at the mirror hanged on the wall and noticed for the first time in forever, he looks like a gentleman!.
“This is stupid,i can't believe am doing this” Ace said and sat. “you have to do it,you have no other choice” Shaw said. “of course I have other choices,I could just leave her and go have the special drink with Andrew today to make things happen faster” Ace said.
“oh, of course” Shaw said. Ace wore the shoes Shaw gave him which luckily fitted perfectly.
He went out and Shaw soon joined him,They started driving,“make sure you don't screw up,her parents are Mr and Mrs Harrison and she only has a younger sister named Linda ” Shaw said.
“good I won't forget any of those” Ace said, They drove till they reach her place,Shaw dropped him and quickly left the place to avoid being spotted.
Ace walked closer to the gate and saw some flowers planted there,he uprooted one and held it in his hands, he knocked and the gate opened slightly.
“who are you and who did you come to see?” The gate man asked him,“I am Ace Carter and am here to see Miss Jane ” he said,“wait here the gate man said and closed the gate.
Ace waited for a while, “come in” the gateman said. Ace went in and gasped at the beauty of the house,lots of expensive rides,standing around were bodyguards.
He was escorted in by a bodygaurd,he entered and saw four people sitting and watching TV,He went to the man sitting and said,“Good afternoon sir,I am Mr Harrison ”.
“wait sorry, am Ace Jeremy ” he said and stretched his hands for a handshake, Me Harrison shake is hands.
He went to Jane and handed her the flower he was holding, “isn't that the flower planted outside” Linda asked,“No dear I got this from one of the most expensive stores in the city, Ace lied.
“you bought it from an expensive store and it has dirt in its roots ” Linda said,Ace didn't say anything anymore. “Linda could you please give us some moments alone here” Mr Harrison said.
Linda went upstairs to her room,“so Mr Ace,you can take my daughter out but not without going with guards ” Mr Harrison said.
“Dad,I thought we talked about this, this is my date for God's sake,am going with a man,I'll be safe” Jane said.
“Emm..I think I'll wait outside for you..” Ace said and went out.“Dad you have to let me go please ” Jane said,“ok I'll let you go just this once” Mr Harrison said, “Thanks Dad” Jane said and got up.
she went out and her dad followed leaving only her stepmum in the guestroom, “Hey Ace,if any thing happens to my daughter, I'll kill you! ” Mr Harrison said, “i give you my word Sir, we will back before you notice we're gone ” Ace said.
“By the way,I don't see your car,did you park it outside” Mr Harrison asked, “emm..I..”,Ace was stammering when Jane interrupted.
“i told him to leave his car behind that we'll use mine for today”,Jane said.Mr Harrison nodded and they both drove out in Jane's car,they were driving to an unknown destination, “so you are just gonna leave home just like that ” Ace asked.
“No,I need to gain his trust first and try to keep you out of this as much as I can ” Jane said,“Am already in this already,There is no way out of what's coming” Ace said.
There was silence in the car,They then drove to a nearby fast food restaurant where they ate and talked for some while,they started driving back after some while.
“i met with my friend Andrew but I think he is not on my side, I'll find out today when I get to his place” Ace said,“be careful ” Jane replied.
Jane drove Ace home and dropped him and later drove back home.“so how was the date” Shaw asked Ace as he walked in,“not as bad as I expected ” Ace said said, Shaw chuckled.
“Time to take this stupid suit off and get ready to unravel Andrew's plan once and for all” Ace send and went in.
