DUSK
I woke up to see myself in a dark place that looked spooky; there were empty cells there with skeletons that looked like they were a thousand years old or more. I was the only one there, and I wondered who would know I was there.
I looked around and didn’t know what would become of me in this place that I found myself in. This wasn’t what I dreamt of when I imagined meeting my mate, but I guess I was bound to go through the opposite of whatever I wished for.
Slowly, I walked further and saw a staircase, but the door upstairs was locked when I tried opening it after climbing up the stairs.
Definitely, I was underground, I thought, and felt fear clawed at my chest because being underground was going to make it harder for anyone who was searching for me to find me. I wasn’t even certain that anyone would bother looking for me.
"Point to the place before I rip your head off!" I heard a familiar voice yell, and a few seconds later, the door flew open.
I gasped as my heart was overwhelmed with joy. It was Lucius who had come to save me.
He pushed the man who had shown him where I was and wrapped his palm tightly around my wrist, dragging me out.
He didn’t say a word to me as he pulled me along with him, but I was happy that he had come to save me from this horrible place.
There was bloodshed everywhere as we navigated our way out of the enemy’s kingdom, and I couldn’t help but wonder if he had killed all those people just to save me.
When we got to the palace, he dragged me to my room and slammed me against the wall like he did the last time, and fear shivered down my spine.
"How could you be as weak as this! You can’t even defend yourself or this kingdom." He lifted his hand and cupped my neck with his palm, almost choking me. "This is the more reason I get infuriated whenever I see you." He growled.
Suddenly, as if someone had instructed him to let go of me, he released his grip on my neck and turned on his heels, dashing out of the room.
The next day, I was called for breakfast like nothing happened, and everyone was eating their food without saying a word. When I was served, I could see that my food was way smaller than the others', and I felt embarrassed and shamed. I couldn’t bring myself to eat as hot tears welled up in my eyes. The shame was great; no one had acted like I was abducted, and now the food I was given was equivalent to the food they gave malnourished dogs.
The Alpha looked at me, and it wasn’t a delightful look at all. No one was delighted to see me or the fact that I was in their midst. Within a few minutes, everyone began to leave one by one until I was the only one left. I tried my best not to be curious about the reason they all left the table. I couldn’t eat the food I was served because it felt awkward, so I wanted to leave it.
"You haven’t even spent up to a week here, and you are already wasting the food, like it wasn’t someone who made efforts to prepare it." A servant said, looking at me with spiteful eyes.
I couldn’t believe my ears. A mere maid, talking to me anyhow, but there was nothing I could do; there was no one who would support me on anything.

LUCIUS
A few days had passed, and my wolf would not allow me to rest. It wanted to feel Dusk’s touch and craved no one else but her. I was certain that she also wanted the same thing. This got me infuriated each day, until I decided to give in because I knew my wolf wouldn’t allow me to rest.
I stormed into her room in anger, with the thought that if I saw her, I would feel more annoyed, which would overpower my wolf's desire.
"Is there anything wrong?" She asked, wondering why I had opened the door that way.
"Does something have to be wrong before I can come in here in that manner?" I threw the question back to her and walked slowly towards her.
She began to move backwards slowly, scared of what I would do next. I actually meant to scare her and lash out at her, but my wolf took over. The sweet sensation that filled the atmosphere drew me closer to her and made me want to feel her touch.
I brought her close to me and planted a deep kiss on her lips, and we both gasped at the adrenaline that rushed through us. I wanted more of this, so I nibbled on her neck as I placed my hands on her breasts while I slowly laid her on the bed.

"Now, each group is complete. We shall have the race first, and the winner would go back with a prize." The coordinator announced, looking at everyone.
I was paired with Dusk, so I didn’t have any hopes of winning at all, and I was already losing interest, but I had no choice but to play until the end.
My mind wandered off to Ariadne. I wanted to finish what I had started with her the other day. I was sure it would be much better than what I had with my weak mate!

The event was impressive; although Dusk and I lost, she made us lose with her incompetence. After we were done with the formality, I rushed to Ariadne, who was already waiting for me in my room.
