His Masked Angel Chapter 9

"I what?" He raised an eyebrow taking her in up close. She wasn't very tall even with the heels, he'd noticed that but now without the heels, she looked nothing short of adorable and with the dress sweeping the floor like that, elegant seductress. Her formerly red painted lips were now bare and pink, her cheeks also tinged a shade darker when she noticed the way his eyes were raking over body. The dip in front of the bodice that had him thinking about what lay beneath, the gentle way it hugged her natural curves enhancing her slim waist. She was beautiful, a marvelous creation, and for the night, she was all his. "Can you, even, you know look up here, at my face?" She gestured towards her mask covered face. "I don't see the point of it, it's not like I can see the face." He spoke his voice slightly different from the man in the car, or maybe she was just hearing clearer now that she wasn't so drunk. She huffed before sitting back down on the couch. She would have felt embarrassed for the way she screamed but she didn't exactly feel sorry, she'd woken up to a bright place in a house she didn't know and when she tried to move she felt herself on the floor, none of it was her fault and if anything he owed her an apology. Her brain wasn't working at its peak but she knew he'd carried her from her dressing room back at the club and Sam must've been the one to give him the keys, not caring if he was going to kill her or rape her. She should be grateful it hasn't happened though and he doesn't look like he would do that, she wasn't stupid as to trust him that easily. She nods to herself thinking of all the self-defense classes she has taken since she moved. The heat of his gaze made her meet his eyes, he was watching her but she knew that even before looking up. He didn't look at all fazed to have been caught staring, if anything he raised a single brow in a Daring way. "Well, the mask stays on, whatever happens." Elena stated her eyes narrowing into slits, her lips settled into a thin line leaving no room for argument. He liked her sober, he thought to himself and though there was nothing he wanted to do more than take the mask off and see her eyes up close, the mysteriousness of it all added to the allure and he found it had better stay on. "And if it falls off?" He asked mockingly. "You wouldn't live to tell story." Their eyes meet and he expected her to look away but she met his stare head on, daring. "I don't think we've been formally introduced, the one in the car doesn't count of course, Elijah Walton." He stretched his hand out for a handshake,he watched as she eyes his hands suspiciously before agreeing and accepting it. A zap of awareness went through his body as they made contact, he watched to see if she felt it too and from the way she was trying so hard to ignore the sparks but for the few seconds he held her he knew she felt it too. As though he was frozen in place he couldn't look away from her, all the hairs on his body were standing and when her eyes darkened, the pupils dilating, he knew he was fucked. Large green doe eyes now shining under the bright chandeliers he hadn't wanted at first, he couldn't wait to get lost in them as he got lost in her. He halted that thought, she was just for one night. There will be no getting lost in anything or anyone. "Alia James," she voiced softly. He didn't know if it was intentional or her voice was just that seductive but his whole body answered. They started at each other, aware of the buzzing energy between them, sexual tension surrounded them wrapping them in its cocoon. She cleared her throat her hand on her mask, he thought she was taking it off and his heart stopped for a bit but she only adjusted, he tried hard to hide his disappointment. He could've taken it off when we was sleeping, he didn't know what had stopped him and he wasn't sure he regretted it. "Where is the bathroom?" She asked and he motioned for her to follow, she hesitated but stood up and he heard her footsteps behind him. He took her to the guest bathroom and stepped aside for her to enter and do her business. Elena locked the door for precautionary measures when he stepped out to give her space, she couldn't have him opening it, though she doubted seeing how he hasn't tried touching her ever since, but still, better safe than sorry. "What the fuck?" She whispered yelled at the mirror, her green eyes widened in shock. Sam has certainly killed her, he has singlehandedly ruined her life, the two lives she'd tried desperately to keep separate from each other, all her hard work to ensure they don't merge and now, she was in her boss's apartment–penthouse– she corrected herself, she has never been there, even as his secretary, he kept his private life very private. She didn't know what to do , even with the makeup, there is no way she would take the mask off, she wouldn't take any chances. "I can do this," She breathed out and retied the mask, if they were doing this then they had to set some ground rules more for herself than him but it was fair, he wasn't the one risking his life. She has never seen him with a woman or heard rumors about him dating or the likes, it was all just work for him. She'd thought he was gay at some point but the way he looked at her and although brief, touched her, there was nothing gay about that. The crotch of his pants alone showed just right she was. She would never see Elijah Walton the same again after this. She thought opening the bathroom after doing multiple breathing exercises.
