Few weeks later
A luxurious car rolled up in front of a towering dazzling modern commercial building made of more glass than brick walls.
The driver hurried out of the matte black car and hurried to open the back door. A handsome middle-aged man well dressed in a deep blue blazer over a black turtle neck shirt and matching pants, stepped out of the car in his shiny black shoes. His black shiny hair was finely slicked back.
Mark stood to tuck on his suit and turned around to offer a hand to the other person in the car.
A long slender arm extended out of the car and was gently placed on the man’s hand. The man stepped back as a beautiful blonde lady dressed in white blazers worn over a black formal gown with a small black purse to match, stepped out of the car in leather black sandal heels.
Mark smiled at the lady and said to her. “Are you ready, Val?”
Valerie who seemed a little below the age of thirty retracted her hands from the gentleman’s and nodded her head as she said.
“ I can’t wait to see Mark’s face” she flashed a small grin.
“ Haha!” Mark chuckled subtly and walked upfront towards the commercial building with a signpost saying 'Citadel's' largely in view.
Just as they got in, Val had to suck in her breath at the sight before her and she had to take a pause on her stride. The golden artificial lights shone on the sparkling varieties of jewelries in the showcase glasses. The place could only be described as all shiny and just overall dreamy. The utopia of every female gender.
Val found herself staring in awe at the sight of people dressed in grey uniforms attending to a couple three to four esteemed customers who were here to make a purchase.
“Like what you see?” Bob leaned a little closer to Val to ask, bringing the latter out of her daze.
Val shook her glance to Bob who had a proud smile on his face and couldn’t help but nod her head. To say she was overwhelmed by the sight before her was an understatement. Val imagined just how much the whole place is worth and she couldn't help but start to see Bob in a new light.
A true billionaire!
However, she couldn’t help but imagine how hard it would be for Mark to look at all this, knowing he could lose it.
“There’s more. But first, let’s deal with the business at hand” Bob said and turned to face the direction of the floor elevator. Val looked around one last time before quickly following behind Bob.
“Morning Daisy, could you tell your boss that I’ll be seeing her soon?” Bob said to the receptionist when they got near and just walked past with a slightly smug smile on his face.
“ W-well, yes I’ll do well to convey your message boss!” the ginger-haired middle aged lady in glasses hurried to say in response.
Val nodded at the receptionist as she walked past to which the latter returned with a short bow.
Daisy wasn’t blind after all. Seeing the blonde lady come in with the owner obviously meant that she must be of a very important persona.
Despite the fact that Mrs Richardson was the CEO of the company, everyone knew Mr Bob Richardson, the young billionaire, to be her husband and a matter of fact, the real owner of the company.
Just as the two entered the elevator, Daisy heaved a deep sigh, arranged her countenance and appearance before moving to dial her landline on her desk. She placed the handset to her ear without waiting for the dial tone which eventually came. She listened on the dial tone for a while before a cold feminine voice answered the call from the other side of the phone.
“What is it!?”
“ Y-yes, It’s the owner, He’s here!”
“What did he say was his business?”
“He says he’s here to see the CEO and he’s here with some important person!” The receptionist recounted hastily.
“Very well. Tell this to no one. I’ll deal with it!” The person on the other side of the phone said and put an end to the call in an instant.
Daisy frowned as she put the handset away and glanced at the landline for a second. She mimicked a gesture which seemed to be that of the person she’d just spoken from her observation of the person's behavior. It could be said that she knew exactly how the person would look saying what they had just said.
Daisy sighed again, arranged her appearance and mannerism before resuming to her work shortly after.
“ Welcome to the Citadel's. How may I help you?” she greeted the customer before her eloquently with a warm smile, as if none of what had just happened never happened.

As soon as the elevator stopped, it opened to the view of a young woman who looked between the age of 24 and 28 calmly approaching with a cold indifferent expression worn on her pretty face adorned with make-up and a warm red lipstick.
“ If it isn't Margey. You’re quick at work aren’t ya?” Bob greeted sarcastically as he stepped out the elevator. Val did the same and observed the lady approaching upfront with a cold expression.
Val had seen a picture of Bob's wife actually, and she found it hard to understand this lady's problem.
Wasn't she Just the CEO's secretary who acted as the Chief operation officer at times? What was with all the attitude?
Subconsciously Val just didn't like the lady with long Raven black hair now standing before them.
“ Welcome, Mr Bob Richardson, I’m afraid you can’t meet with the madam as she’s in a closed-door meeting with her staffs right now” Margarette, The CEO’s secretary stated with a forced smile.
“Oh, all the better. I believe I have a thing or two to add then” Bob raised a brow and flashed a smile as he said before moving to proceed towards the board room.
“Wait!”
Bob turned around hearing this and glanced at Margarette still with a raised brow as if to ask if anything was the problem.
“You have to understand that this meeting is really important Mr-“
“Well, I don’t think you could stop me anyway” Bob shrugged and turned around to continue.
“Mr-“
“Margarette!” Bob stopped and raised a hand without turning around this time. “ I believe I’ve been respectful enough!” Bob stated making his intent clear.
“Now Ms Valerie, if you will?” Bob urged as he continued without looking back anymore.
Val just raised her chin and walked past the rude secretary. Honestly, Val disliked the secretary at first glance, she didn't care if that was right or wrong.
Margarette stood glaring at the Mark's back as he left with gritted teeth. Different thoughts ran through her head as she watched Mark and the blonde lady walk ahead freely into the boardroom. The most disturbing thought being that her boss wasn't going to forgive her incompetence. She knew she was going to be reprimand by her boss later for not doing a good job. But at the moment, she could do nothing more.
