Chapter Twenty-Six

As the heavy iron gates of the prison creaked open, Mr. Matteo stood outside, his heart pounding with anticipation. He had spent way too much time behind these bars than he had expected.
But the good thing was that it gave him enough time to plot his revenge against the couple who had ruined his life and reputation. His main enemy, Alfonso Tommaso, and his now-wife, Rose, were out there, both enjoying their lives after being imprisoned.
Alfonso had made sure he paid for his sons one way or another; even he knew he could not keep him locked up forever, so he dug out some of his past crimes and testified against him in court, leading to his conviction for a crime that didn't concern theirs.
He spent countless hours in his prison cell, meticulously planning his revenge. He had dug out all past and present connections he has with dangerous criminals, gathering information about Alfonso and Rose's lives, knowing their routines, their weaknesses, and their deepest fears. After much searching, It seems like he might just have found a Mastermind with a similar problem as his.
But before contacting her, he needed to confirm that they were both on the same page and that she was ready to do everything her own way. Gathering all her information together, he found out that she might just be foolish enough to control
Now, with his release, he was ready to put his plan into motion, and what better way to do so than sending them a present to confuse them? he thought as he stared through the rare mirror of the moving vehicle,looking at the huge box placed behind the car seat.
Matteo wasted no time in assembling a team of skilled individuals for his great master plan; they were supposed to enact hisvengeance without him getting so involved with the matter.
He reached out to old acquaintances from his criminal past, carefully selecting those who were both loyal and ruthless and had little problem with the Tommaso family both in the past and present.
Together, they formed a tight-knit group, with each member bringing their unique skills and ideas to the table.
His car was parked in front of a rusty warehouse on the outskirts of the city. He got down from the vehicle, whirling the keys in his middle finger, and made his way up the broken and rusted stairs.
He opened the door to a dimly lit warehouse, and the team seated there looked at him while nodding their heads to show a sign of respect to the dangerous man in front of them.
He addressed his team, outlining his plan and detailing every step they would take to ensure Alfonso suffered the same fate as most of them did because of him.
"I think it's about time we show that family a sweet, bitter test of what they show us; they have raised their heads up with pride, and it's about time we cut off that pride of theirs," he sneered while the group listened intently, their eyes gleaming with a mix of excitement and malice. They were ready to execute his carefully crafted scheme.
Matteo knew that to truly hurt Alfonso and get his revenge, he had to strike at the only thing that truly mattered to the heartless man, and that was his empire.
From his findings, he discovered that he had recently purchased a beautiful lakeside resort worth 200 million dollars, a place that is said to be a retreat for celebrities and the rich for peace and tranquility. He saw this as the perfect opportunity to strike and shatter Alfonso's idyllic life.
"But as I said before, we need our last and most important teammate," he added with a malicious smile on his face.

Under the cover of darkness, Matteo and his team decided to pay a visit to Nicole. He walked into her house and sat comfortably on one of her couches in the living room, not bothering to turn on the light.
The light from the moon emitting through the living room windows showed signs of his presence from his shadow.
He stood on the couch as the sight of something scattered on the glass center table in the living room caught his attention. He saw rearranged photos, personal documents, and messages from a cell phone on sheets of paper, all scrawled on the glass table.
Well, she might be of more help than he thought, he concluded, reaching down towards the table to examine his newly found information.
The lights to the living suddenly flicked on, revealing Nicole in her two-piece sexy nightwear with a vase in her hands. Matteo looked at the lady in front of him, a smirk forming on his lips.
"Well, hello there." He said

Matteo understood that physical pain was only part of his revenge. He needed to torment Alfonso psychologically; he wanted to hit him various places and make him wonder where those hits were coming from, to make him question his own sanity. After getting Nicole on board, he began orchestrating a series of mind games designed to push him to his breaking point.
Anonymous phone calls to both his home and office lines were made in the dead of night, disturbing messages were left on the doorstep of his company, and strange occurrences that seemed to defy explanation were about to become a regular part of Alfonso's life. They needed him to lose his mind first and make his once blissful existence become overshadowed by fear and paranoia.
Matteo knew that a time would come when he would need to use his ultimate weapon, but for now she was to stay hidden and work from inside.
That bitch Rose had forgotten that he knew all her secrets; she should just wait patiently because he was going to get her dead body back one way or another.
He had meticulously planned a grand finale that would leave both Alfonso and Rose shattered, both physically and emotionally, but before that, itwas time to confront Alfonso face-to-face and reveal the orchestrator of his future torment.
