As Yun Xiangxiang only wanted what Kelly saw, Kelly was flustered. She didn’t know what everyone else saw from their perspective.
The more she changed her testimony, the more she was frustrated. The crowd who was away from them could see Kelly’s frustration, which was in stark contrast to Yun Xiangxiang’s calm and collected manner throughout the process.
The crowd had their answers even before Yun Xiangxiang made the announcement. They changed their perception of Kelly.
“Are you sure?” Yun Xiangxiang spent almost half an hour on Kelly. As the given time was virtually elapsed, she asked one final time.
Yun Xiangxiang’s calmness flustered Kelly more. Kelly knew she could delay no more, or else she would be incriminating herself. “I am.”
Yun Xiangxiang smiled. She put all the drawings she made on top of each other and went to Eric. “Mr. Eric, you are the real host here. I thank your generosity for giving us a chance to defend ourselves. You are a smart man. I think you can deduce what happened.”
Yun Xiangxiang didn’t want to make enemies of them. She didn’t let everyone see the drawings. In a way, she was paying her respect toward Eric.
If any of the witnesses lied, they would have to change what they saw when the desserts splashed Kelly.
If the lie were imperfect, it would easily be seen through. Just like how one must replace a part of the map they cut out with was perfect imitation, or else everyone could see the changed part.
One of the witnesses defended Kelly. She lied, so she had to make up what she saw to avoid her testimonial from being problematic.
She saw Kelly tripping Song Meng up. If she omitted this from her testimony, she had to imagine another scene to fill up this hole in her testimonial.
Everyone knew what happened. Whether the witness lied or not could be proven by comparing what she said to the spot where the accident happened.
The other witnesses didn’t see Song Meng being tripped. They didn’t defend Kelly. What they did was to describe what they saw in detail.
As they compared what Song Meng was doing, what Kelly was doing, and the traces of the desserts in the testimonials to the place Kelly was splashed, they could see Song Meng wasn’t lying.
What Kelly said was immaterial. Kelly’s testimonial about what Song Meng was doing was different from the other two witnesses who told the truth.
Kelly lied. Just like the witness who defended her, she needed to make something up to explain what she was doing at that time. But not only her testimonial was different from the witnesses who told the truth, but it was also different from the one who defended her.
Yun Xiangxiang wasn’t worried even if the three of them lied. If they did, they would have to make up something to replace the part they omitted.
Yun Xiangxiang knew their made up testimonial would be different if they lied. If the ladies’ testimonials were all different, it would be a big slap in their face.

The truth was now out. Kelly lied.
“Kelly, how could you?” Faye was the first one to question Kelly.
Kelly wanted to retort, but she only lowered her head, not speaking even a word.
Song Meng’s innocence was finally proven. She stared at Kelly coldly.
Yun Xiangxiang wondered about the goods Faye had on Kelly to make Kelly defend her. “I tripped her by accident. I was worried I might get accused of being rude for soiling my gown, that’s why I… I’m sorry.”
Kelly was just an eighteen-year-old. She made this mistake out of panic. It might be a stupid move, but it was understandable. They didn’t suspect that there was a conspiracy going on.
“Apologize to this lady,” someone spoke sternly.
“Father…,” fear welled up in Kelly’s eyes.
“You disappoint me, Kelly.” Kelly’s father went to Song Meng. “As her father, I offer my deepest apologies for the damage my daughter has caused you.”
Kelly’s father apologized with sincerity and respect. Song Meng could be fierce toward Kelly, but facing someone like Kelly’s father, Song Meng was at a loss. She tried to retreat.
Li Xiangling stopped her, forcing Song Meng to stand her ground. Song Meng took a deep breath. “I might be furious about what your daughter did, but we Chinese hold one important value. Forgiveness. I accept your apology, and I forgive her.”
The tension in the air disappeared. The audience praised Song Meng. Song Meng wasn’t good at receiving praise. She nodded sheepishly.
“Now that the truth is out, can we take our leave?” Li Xiangling blurted.
“Ladies, if you do not mind, please come to the party,” Eric invited Li Xiangling and Song Meng.
The guests were welcoming, but Li Xiangling refused. “Thank you for your invitation, Mr. Eric. However, as you can see, our work is not done yet. We have some explaining to do once we get back to the shop.”
She proudly waved her status as an employee, not feeling inferior in the slightest. The guests respected her courage and dignity.
“Mr. Eric, do let them finish their work,” Yun Xiangxiang backed her friends.
Her friends disliked joining events like this anyway.
Eric quickly asked his servants to send the girls away. Li Xiangling said her goodbyes politely before turning to Eric, “Mr. Eric, I didn’t know that the thousands and thousands of desserts you ordered yesterday and today were for your daughter’s guests. I envy your daughter for having such a loving father.”
Li Xiangling smiled kindly, “But I have to remind you that our desserts use flowers as their ingredients. I hope none of your guests are allergic to flowers.”
Qi Jun coughed.
Yun Xiangxiang lowered her head, hiding the laughter welling up in her eyes.
Xiangling could surprisingly backstab people if she wanted to. That statement about the order of the vast amount of desserts was made on purpose. Eric didn’t have that many people in his home. He didn’t need that many desserts.
And these desserts were not used to serve the guests, unlike what Li Xiangling said. So, where did they go?
Everyone did something for a reason. Why did Eric’s household order thousands of desserts over these two days?
When this was linked to the event earlier, it made everything seem suspicious.
Eric didn’t need to order the desserts himself. He could have asked his butler to do it. And yet he did it himself? But they didn’t use any of the desserts they ordered over these two days. The butler wouldn’t dare do such a thing.
So who ordered it? The answer was obvious. Faye. The guests looked at Faye and Yun Xiangxiang.
Faye wouldn’t embarrass two ordinary ladies for no reason. But these ladies were Yun Xiangxiang’s friends.
