The Dipankara was strong, and a good challenge for Wu Yu.
He executed all of his Mystiques, Bedlam of Heaven and Earth, Pillar of the Skies, Eyes of Fire and Gold, Somersault Cloud...... his repertoire was endless!
Dipankara met all of his attacks with equanimity.
The lamp in his hand never went out, no matter how powerful an attack Wu Yu threw at it. He could always light up a space of safety with his eternal fire, causing Wu Yu's attacks to fail again and again.
It seemed like Xuanzang had instructed the Dipankara to simply spar with Wu Yu, which was why he was content to only defend.
Wu Yu was now clearer about the limits of his strength as well.
He was indeed much stronger than before. As his buddha world reached the sixth tier and his apotheosis realm reached the seventh, he could defeat opponents like Grand Supreme Elderly Lord with one hit.
Still, Wu Yu's strength was insufficient to fight the Dipankara.
He felt that the Dipankara's strength was odd. He had to take down the eternal flame defenses, or he would never be able to win.
Of course, Wu Yu was not using his full strength either.
He had held in reserve his strengthening techniques such as Lawful Embodiment of Heaven and Earth and Violent Art, since this was but an exchange of skills and not a serious fight.
At first, the Dipankara fought with a reservedness. Although his expression was strict, but he looked in control.

The Dipankara started to get more violent, more reckless, as though a madness had taken him.
The lamp in his hand started to spill its frightful fire all about Expanse of Nirvana, lighting the entire place up with flames!
It seemed like Dipankara was not just trying to spar with Wu Yu now, but also attacking the other immortal buddhas in Expanse of Nirvana.
Clearly, the Dipankara was affected by the same affliction of madness as the rest. Once he entered battle, he would go berserk.
"What is going on?"
Wu Yu was afraid.
After all, he had watched the Dipankara degenerate before his very eyes, from a reserved elder into a cruel, mad fighter.
It had been the battle which had made him go insane.
"Stop."
As the Dipankara started to flail his lantern madly, Xuanzang's voice rang out.
This soft call was like a voice from another world. Accompanying it was a dazzling flash of golden buddha light, and then a palm pressed down on the Dipankara!
Xuanzang had intervened.
Dipankara went insane after being pinned down by the golden palm, thrashing madly and trying to struggle free of it.
However, Xuanzang was the Buddha Above All, and no one could escape his palm.
The Dipankara was completely subdued.
The Dipankara's struggles did not subside either. He grew even more violent, even opening his black buddha world's mouth to bite the golden palm.
"Sigh!"
Xuanzang lamented.
He had expected that this would happen, but not expected the Dipankara to lose control so quickly.
His golden buddha palm lifted up and was brought down again!
This time, a golden light rippled out from the impact, bathing the whole of Expanse of Nirvana!
This was powerful enough to knock the Dipankara out.
Finally, the Dipankara desisted, and Expanse of Nirvana was peaceful again.
"Grandmaster, this......"
Wu Yu was dismayed by the outcome.
He was wondering if his fighting style had aggravated the Dipankara.
Xuanzang shook his head, and spoke in a warm tone full of worry. "No matter. This has nothing to do with you. I'm just surprised that he lost control so quickly. After the Immortal Buddha World Core was shattered, all the immortal buddhas became like this. Once they are sufficiently triggered, they will lose their rationality."
This was why the Heavenly Buddha's Domain was in such chaos.
Wu Yu recalled that he had occasionally gone out of Expanse of Nirvana with Luo Pin and the others to take a breather.
During those times, they had been attacked by many black immortal buddhas.
They seemed to have all gone mad.
And if all the immortal buddhas were like that, then the Heavenly Buddha's Domain was in a state of chaos indeed. Not even one as powerful as Xuanzang could control the whole situation.
He could only create Expanse of Nirvana as an anchor point to salvage the situation somewhat.
Xuanzang lifted his hand, and the light spirited the Dipankara away to rest.
By the time the Dipankara came to, his rationality should have returned.
Wu Yu looked up to see the youthful and cultured features of Xuanzang wrinkled in worry and sorrow.
Clearly, Xuanzang too was very upset by the current situation, and wanted to change it.
"Grandmaster, is there any way to restore the Immortal Buddha World Core?"
Wu Yu asked.
Of course, it was not a good feeling to see all these immortal buddhas turning violent.
Before they had been attacked by the Jade Emperor, the immortal buddhas should have been as charitable and benevolent as Xuanzang or Guanyin Pusa. If their true characters were still within them deep down, they must be in agony each time this madness struck them.
Perhaps they did not realize anything each time they went mad.
But as a spectator to this, Wu Yu felt distraught.
"There is a way, but...... it's too difficult!"
After some thought, Xuanzang nodded, then quickly shook his head again, sighing.
"What's the way? Can I be of help?"
Wu Yu asked eagerly.
If there was a way, Wu Yu would definitely not be selfish with his strength. After all, he was still biding his time before he took revenge on the Jade Emperor.
If he could find something to do in this time, or perhaps strengthen his cultivation, he might be able to move on to the next cultivation realm more quickly.
Hearing Wu Yu's words, Xuanzang frowned slightly.
