Harry Potter: The Planewalker Chapter 89

Christian could not stop thinking about the anomaly of his opponent. She was obviously someone with a great secret, but his knowledge and understanding could not stipulate what it was. As he returned to the crowd to watch the final match of the other groups, he heard them talking about him; they mentioned how he was a 'superior bloodless,' someone without any blood abilities, but used their deep understanding of magic and a variety of spells to make up for the gap. 'Superior bloodless? The societal hierarchy is deeply ingrained in this place,' Christian thought as he shook his head. 'However, I wonder how these people would feel knowing that the bloodless path is the only surviving and thriving part of the future?' Christian once analyzed this era and deduced why things like blood or blood crest families no longer existed in his era. Of course, that's assuming this place represented his timeline, not just a parallel dimension that existed in ancient times. He concluded that most of these families became extinct due to too much inbreeding, and by the time of his era, only a few existed. For example, the Gaunts Family preserved their blood ability to communicate with and control snake creatures. The Nymphadora family might be the remains of a blood or blood crest family, as their Metamorphmagus Ability was passed down to Tonks and his son, Teddy. Christian even suspected that the Dumbledore family's ability to have a Phoenix might be a blood ability. There is also the Trelawney Family, which possessed the blood ability for Divination; Professor Trelawney's great-great-grandmother, Cassandra Trelawney, was a great Seer. Christian even suspected Maledictus was somewhat connected to blood or blood crests, but he had no proof. Christian focused on the main event of this competition: the final battle in group Alpha between Niketas, the Spartan, and Aurelius Ignitus, the Hot Head. He found it odd that everyone in the [Four Golden Treasures] was in different groups besides these two. 'There is definitely a story behind why these two were in the same group,' concluded Christian before paying attention. The two Titans entered the fighting arena, and the referee did not actually stay inside but waited outside the protective cover that separated them from the crowd. Niketas held a spear and a round shield, while Aurelius had red gauntlets. Christian guessed these tools should have been enchanted, and the start of the match proved him correct. A blue and visible aura manifested around Niketas's shield, followed by lightning rushing from his hands to encapsulate his spear, turning it into a lightning spear. "I shall be victorious," declared Niketas as lightning flashed in his sandals, propelling him forward. Aurelius followed him with flames rushing from his feet. Niketas used his advanced reach with his spear to stab his opponent, but Aurelius moved his head dexterously before opening his mouth to fire flame. The Spartan blocked the flame with his shield, and Aurelius took this opportunity to punch him with a fist encased in bright red flame. A lightning bolt rushed from Niketas's shield to block the flaming fist, but it only stopped it momentarily. However, that was enough for Niketas' body to move rapidly a few meters backward, once again acquiring the advantage of range. The two glanced at each other, the tension between them almost visible. The initial test of each other revealed the others' abilities, and now, the real battle was about to start. Christian frowned as he witnessed this brilliant display of elemental magic. 'The way these people fight is completely different from my period. They fight more like magic knights instead of wizards.' That could be a problem since he was not adept at this fighting style. Christian looked at his healed arm; he suffered this injury because of this different mode of fighting that involved closed combat and dealing with swift opponents. Like armor, Niketa's body was surrounded by lightning, and he rushed into the sky with immense speed. He threw his spear, which left a blue trail behind it due to its sheer traveling speed. Aurelius made a clawing motion, which produced an enormous flame of hands that caught or tried to catch the lightning spear. The two confronted briefly before the flame hand, and the lightning surrounding the spear dispersed. Niketas seemed to have expected this outcome and was already prepared. He held his shield before him and placed all his weight on it as he dropped from the sky, intending to smash his opponent with his body weight and terrifying lightning. Aurelius did not evade but instead flew into the sky by spewing flame under his sandals, acting like science-fiction jet boots. His actions interrupted much of Niketa's momentum, thus drastically reducing the effect of his opponent's attack. They clashed in the air for a short confrontation, with Aurelius attacking his opponent with the claws in his gauntlet and Niketas blocking. Aurelius caught a flaw in his opponent and kicked on the ground, sending Niketas' massive body crashing to the ground. However, the Spartan swiftly controlled his body momentum with a somersault before landing perfectly intact on the ground. His spear flew back into his hands as if he had used the summoning charm, and he pointed it forward to fire countless lightning bolts. 'Although their attacks lacked versatility, they make it up with high attack potency and versatility in whatever spells their blood contains,' analyzed Christian. The way these two fought made sense based on what he knew about blood crest families. Niketas' family spent generations developing countless lightning spells, while Aurelius' did for flame magic. Aurelius punched the air to fire small fireballs that countered Niketas' lightning bolts, and after a few seconds of direct confrontation, he changed his tactic. He clapped his hands to release a fire wave that spread in all directions. Niketas responded by raising his shield and condensing a lightning shield that was superimposed on his normal shield. Then, he rushed toward the attack like an unstoppable tank. He blocked the rampaging flame before continuing his rush. Aurelius knew a direct confrontation would be a terrible idea, especially since they were no longer in the air without foot support. So, he plans to fly in the sky to evade. However, Niketas predicted his next move, and his foot suddenly released a lightning wave that traveled to the ground, electrocuting Aurelius. The Ignitus family's heir did not scream or groan despite the pain. He could not afford to, as his opponent was still rushing toward him. He placed his hand on the arena floor, and less than a second later, a flame pillar rushed from the ground, forcing Niketas to stop his rush and move backward to evade. He had a flash of determination in his eyes as he raised his spear and shield above his head. Then, Christian was sure he saw the fear of god flash in Aurelius' eyes. A powerful lightning bolt descended from heaven as if Zeus himself had attacked. A flame tornado quickly surrounded Aurelius, but it seemed useless as the bolt cut through his defense and hit him straight on, leaving him all black and lying on the ground. He looked at Niketas, full of anger and unwillingness. "You've… actually…mastered…" He passed out before finishing his words, and the referee deactivated the arena's protective shield to rush in and feed him a potion. Christian had never seen one of the referees act so swiftly. 'That last spell—why does it resemble Mum's Tribal Magic? But there are no storms,' thought Christian, fascinated by Niketas's last spell. He knew he could never take this spell head-on. 'Wait, was that ancient magic?' He remembered the character Jim played in the Hogwarts Legacy game using a similar spell. He remembered it vividly, as lightning magic had only been used by two people—Grindelwald and that character. Of course, that's not counting thunderbirds. 'So, this is the strength of ancient magic? I can't wait to learn it one day.'
