Ernaline stared blankly at the mirror in front of her where Perth was who now continues to beat the man alone who left alive. She thought the mountain they entered was a secluded place; she didn’t know there was a hidden building here where they are right now. It's a four-story building that you would think you just got lost but no, this building was customized to be a hideout and this whole mountain is owned by a powerful man in the underground society. Although he was horrified by what he found out, he still went to Perth.
After the shocking event, Perth took her to what he called HuPoFEL meaning Human Potential for Evolution is Limitless. It is said to be a hideout for those like him who have a mission to fulfill and his bodyguard is one of them. Most of their members are male and there is a word in life like this is one of the scapegoats of those men who did nothing but waste money.
This is an elite underground hall.
That’s not the only thing that surprised him more. Perth said he’s one of the notorious killers in underground society that his brain can’t process. And here it is, it is currently inside the interrogation room where it took the man who tried to take their life.
"Water," said the man in the mirror who had just arrived and leaned over his seat. He was carrying an iPad that he focused on after reaching for a glass of water that he gave him.
"That's enough Dezrail if he doesn't want to talk let him. Violence is not the solution, there's more another way to make him sing," the man next to him said lazily even though he wasn't looking at what he was doing of Perth within.
When he turned to the man and the tablet he was holding, he was just as shocked to see video footage all over Manila and various parts of the nearby city.
How did he fit all that video footage on an iPad?
Ernaline was about to open her mouth to ask a question when Perth suddenly came out with her serious face while wiping her hand that was now covered in blood.
She winced at Perth’s appearance and wondered as well.
"Damn that bastard." Said the man wearing glasses to Perth as he approached them. She immediately got up from her seat before meeting the wrinkle on Perth’s face.
"What are you doing here Rent?" Perth asked. The bored face that Perth called by the name Rent flashed at them. He put aside the iPad he was holding, which he had just squeezed between his armpit and arm before folding.
"Why did you bring her here Dezrail? Did you forget about the rules of this empire?" Horror crawled all over her body because of Rent’s strange stare at her. She immediately grabbed Perth’s arm.
"I didn't, it's just a coincidence that I'm going here too because of some matters I need to discuss with Aqueros. I was unlucky to be ambushed and she was with me" Rent release a deep sigh before he got up from his seat.
"Boss isn't here right now." His eyes turned to Ernaline but she just bowed her head.
"Anyway, you can call him or pass me about those matters and that trash you brought right now. You already know your field, aren't you? I hope you'll not regret bringing her here" the man began to walk away from where they and Perth. Even though she’s a little bit confused she didn’t dare to ask what Rent meant earlier.
She was left alone in a room which Perth brought her to take a rest for a while. They are still unable to leave the HuPoFEL building because Perth still needs to be taken care of without being asked. Too much information might lead her crazy. She just wanted to talk to him but she can’t get a chance, she has a lot of questions in her mind that need an answer.
He was just shaken when the door of the room he was in suddenly opened, which surprised Ernaline even more.
After the girl was delivered to Perth, she immediately returned to HuPoFEL and returned to the man she had left alive who was one of the girls who chased them.
He could not ignore what had happened. Perth finds Grei folding his arms as he looks out the window where the man he brought.
He approached Grei and stood next to him.
"How's the situation?" Greis asked him.
Perth sighed before turning to the Interrogation Room. "He won't spill any lead who's the mastermind behind the pursuant earlier," he said.
Grei hissed out of anger. "Make sure to find whose the bastard behind this shit. I will be the one to give them a beautiful gift."
Perth looks at Grei with a cold look. He slid his hands into his pants pocket. "Why don't you investigate it Grei? It's beyond my field of work. We didn't talk about me being your investigator!"
The young man turned violently on him and pulled him by the collar before being barred from the window of the interrogation room. Its jaws cried out at the excessive grip on him. "I let you handle this one because you have the responsibility of my sister. You owe me your life Fynrell. Protecting my sister is the only thing I wanted you to do!"
Grei let go of him before he walked out of that ‘room’. He admits to himself that Ernaline is his responsibility. When he saw her crying as he arrives at CDC entertainment he felt soften like there’s something inside of him that pushed his senses to give a hug at Ernaline - he wanted to feel her that he is the only companion at the time like this.
Perth had just scratched his neck before fixing the tangled clothes. He can’t understand himself, there is a part of his personality that wants to protect Ernaline and no one else will do that but him. He didn't want to see any other man approaching him even his brother.
