It slipped from her grip and fell to the floor with a quiet thud.
"A-Ah!" Aria gasped, reaching down quickly.
But Elion knelt at the same time.

Elion let the faint, familiar pulse travel from his fingertips, soft but powerful, like static dancing across his skin.
Their hands brushed.
And that was all it took. For a moment, everything stilled.
A jolt shot through Aria, like someone had reached into her chest and flipped every switch at once.

She looked like she wanted to cry. She was too embarrassed to form a complete sentence. She was panicking.
Elion helped steady her, then stepped back as she tried to compose herself. The rest of the class exchanged curious looks.
Elion noticed that Aria’s legs were still shaky.
He walked back beside her, steadied Aria by the arm, watching her with concern. "Come on, let me help," he said quietly. "Let’s get you to the infirmary."
She nodded without thinking, her mind hazy and distant. Her feet moved on their own as she followed him out of the classroom.
The corridors were mostly empty now, the last echoes of conversation fading away as other students left for lunch or training.
They walked in silence.
The sound of their footsteps echoed softly against the polished floor.

She nodded again, absent-mindedly brushing a strand of hair behind her ear. "O-okay."
Coming here was unnecessary. Aria didn’t need to see the nurse. But Elion just needed a reason to get away from the class and be alone with her.

Otherwise, she might have bolted.
