The Palace of the king.
"We'd like to see the king."
One of the two ladies said to the guards standing at the door of the king's castle. Her brown pupils ran through the face of the long-faced guard.
"What for? The king is no flimsy man and would revere every of the minutes spent with him."
The other guard picked his turn,
"Plus we are now in a trying time. The king wouldn't fancy the businesses of whores."
The other lady who seemed to wear the sharp stare landed a slap on the face of the warrior who had called them whores.
The guard almost knocked the lady out, but the other lady grabbed the thrusted hand of the guard and bent it, twisting the spine. The fellow wrenched in pain.
Suddenly the door to the palace opened immediately and another guard stepped out. He was rather different from the two, he was dressed and looked more royal with a touch of gleam compared to the vulgar lot.
"His highness demanded I know around what this whole drama is woven."
One of the guards shot a glare at the new guard and scoffed,
"Nothing of which concerns the lady guards."
The other guard laughed but the new guard didn't seem to be moved. He kinda was acquainted with the nuances of the two.
"Come with me please."
He offered the ladies. But the upfront and jumpy guard stepped forward to prevent it,
"On whose order."
The new guard didn't fight it. He scoffed and said instead,
"I guess I'll just close the door and return to the king and count several offences on you that even your spirit wouldn't be able to answer for after your head had been fed to the vultures."
The jumpy guard stepped back at that. He seemed to had been smothered, though he tried as much as possible to hide it.
The more indifferent lady rolled her eyes and pushed her way past the annoying guards. They both stepped in and as the door closed they heard,
"Never seen those girls before."
One of the two guards outside had said but the door closed behind them and the new guard started,
"Ignore them. They are known to be that rogue when they are denied of what they want from a lady. I'm sure you won't disbelieve if I tell you that they are dogs."
The eldest of the ladies who seemed coolheaded just kept her pace behind the guard who kept on reeling in words.
The other lady who was an opposite of the coolheaded one shot the guard a glare. The both of them were walking behind the the guard. She didn't know why the dickhead guard was telling them the tale.
In no time they got to the throne but the king was not there.
"You're not allowed to seat please, but you can stand before the throne while I go and fetch him."
He said bowing as he turned. Twas quite obvious that he was already fond of one of the ladies.
"I guess he's already smitten by your charm."
The elder said to the young sister. The young sister rolled her eyes and hissed. The elder shook her head.
"To what do I owe these feminine visit?"
The king walked off the aisle which led from his chamber to the way to the throne. Beside him was his daughter. A beautiful but rather reserved 5"6 lady, with ample bosom and nice curves. Every of her shape was canvassed by the white gown she was having on.
The two ladies bowed before the king and the king touched them with his staff as he got to them. Then he walked towards the throne but was called upon by the elder of he sisters,
"I won't think that necessary, my Lord. We've come to retrieve you."
The king stopped abruptly and turned to them, his face woven into a fresh frown. That which was trained by confusion,
"Retrieve me! How interesting."
He began to walk towards the ladies again as they stood up,
"What is the occasion?"
The elder went again,
"We've come with the news of the rumors. To prove it otherwise."
The king got to them and shot,
"Speak in refined tongue."
The young sister took her turn,
"We have Vulcan and his daughter."
The daughter of the king snapped at them immediately,
"Do not take their words with keen regards, father. Even the men of the land find it difficult to see them, now these ladies, LADIES, came with the news of their capture? It's a sham father. Do not fall for it."
The king smiled instead and turned to his daughter. He placed one of his palms on one of her shoulders,
"I know what your concern is, daughter. You won't bring yourself to marrying a lady? Because I've given my word of marriage to whoever capture the rebellious father and daughter? I'm sure they won't want a lady too. Let's listen to them."
But the Princess wasn't easy to let go,
"See what I'm seeing father. There are news of several people dead. So we heard of the two dead men found in the forest. The death of he priest also was caused by some strangers. How do we know that these ladies are not so?"
The king thought for a while, his peaceful face wielding a recent contour.
"Who are you? Who's your father?"
The elder sister replied rather determinedly,
"We are strangers. From a very far away land. The land beyond the forest at the outskirt of this land. And there had these two taken refuge. But we've done our parts and retrieved them to a secluded place. My people wouldn't have words given to strangers and stab them in the back."
The king sighed and asked,
"What's the name of your land and where are Vulcan and Prium?"
The young sister took her turn,
"Aiowa. They are kept in a cave. We told them we would get few change of clothes and return to them."
The elder sister snapped,
"This is the truth of the matter your highness. News got to the people of my land about the price for whoever that catches the two. And the men went crazy at the thought of marrying a princess. Such beautiful princess."
She paused and considered the princess closely.
"But we told them that we'd keep them safe. And brought them this far."
"And why change and betray their trust now?"
The king snapped. The elder sister smiled and said,
"We got to know the truth of Vulcan's rape of your daughter. That which my people didn't know. I got bitter at the thought of that happening to me. Hence for being rogue."
She concluded. The king sighed. That was quite convincing. What point was there doubting?
"I'll be back, daughter. I should see for myself."
He said and began to instruct some of the guards to prepare a carriage.
As he walked towards the door, behind him the ladies, his daughter called at him again,
"Father."
He halted and sighed again. He turned and walked past the ladies to his pouting daughter. He got to her and kissed her in the lips. Crisp and short.
"I'll be back, baby. I Promise."
He assured and left her standing. The elder and young sister looked at themselves for quite a while, probably trying to understand what just happened.
The two looked at the guard who looked away. He seemed to be acquainted with it.
