Gacha Leveling Chapter 2

There are eight stats in the system. HP or Hit Points. It’s not well known how Mana improves a person’s ability to survive injury, but this stat shows how much punishment an awakened could endure before dying. MP or Mana Points. The available Mana the awakened had on his disposal to use spells freely. Once a person runs out of MP, they faint. Using more MP than one has is dangerous and can lead to permanent injury. Strength. Mana incorporates the awakened’s body, enhancing his muscles and increasing his overall strength. Agility. As it does with Strength, the Mana enhances the awakened’s body, but in a way to increase his speed. Vitality, also called Vital Shield. A layer of Mana that covers the awakened and protects him from damage. That’s the reason it takes more than one shot to hurt a goblin and also the reason that more powerful monsters are immune to normal guns. They just don’t have the power to pierce the monster’s Vitality. Magic. The amount of power the awakened can draw from his Mana. The amount of Magic the awakened has means he will get more power per MP used when compared to other awakeneds who have lower Magic. In other words, using 10 MP with 10 Magic is the same as using 1 MP with 100 Magic. Mind. It’s a complete mystery to scientists. All that is known is that an awakened with high Mind have a lot of Mana inside their brains. They are also better on using Sense skills and on resisting Spells that causes psychological damage, like Sleep or Charm. Charisma. It’s the purity of the awakened’s Mana. The higher their Charisma, the more other people perceive the awakened as a beautiful person, the more the Spirits and other ethereal beings covet the owner. It’s only a useful stat for public relations and for Callers, Tamers and other similar classes that deal with other forms of life. Upon leveling up, a person gets three points to spend, plus his natural stats, plus the stats of the class he picked. Matthew was looking forward to becoming a Samurai, and he would focus his points on Strength and Agility. However what he was looking at the system screen was very disappointing for him. You drew a tier 2 class! A Doctor. A not very useful class. Not combat oriented at all. Not even a proper healer. The three skills a doctor could pick were Anesthesia, that draws out pain from a creature, Diagnosis, that helped to find out diseases on people and Nourish, that can turn Mana into nourishment for the body. A class that was not in his build at all. It should be a natural progression to the Healer class, that had the Heal skill. But getting the Doctor class without first getting Heal or Remove Disease from the Healer class, made the class itself almost useless. His stats were not much better. +4 to MP, +4 to Magic, +1 to Mind and +1 to Charisma. A spellcaster oriented class, but, without any means of using spells, useless stats for Matthew. Looking at his natural stats was also depressing. HP 1, MP 0, Strength 1, Agility 2, Vitality 0, Magic 0, Mind 0, Charisma 3. But that was on him. He should’ve trained his body instead of just relying on the System. A well trained athlete usually had up to 5 HP, Strength and Agility. Very few people had natural MP, Vitality, Magic or Mind. Having 3 Charisma, though, that was good, it explained his high school girlfriend, who broke up with him 3 months ago, but was the most beautiful girl in school. Follow current novels on novel•fire.net Matthew was sat down on the ground looking at his screen, what would he do now? His build was ruined. Gaining classes through Gacha meant he couldn’t have a build at all. Perhaps he could pick the Diagnosis skill and aim on becoming a physician? Going to Medical School? It sure would ensure his life. There were few people who reached the Doctor class, so the Diagnosis skill was pretty useful. However, that was not what he wanted. He wanted adventure, growing stronger, following his dream build, becoming super powerful... On that note... He was the most powerful level 1 adventurer on the planet, wasn’t he? Tier 1 classes only got 8 points per level up while Tier 2 got 10. Meaning he had more points than all level 1 adventurers, excluding his low natural stats, that is... Tier 4, the highest tier, got 16 per level... If he kept adventuring, he could level up to a Tier 4 class, that very few people have because it is necessary to be level 40 at least to acquire them. Getting his coveted Champion class on level 2 meant he would have the most powerful build nonetheless. Also, not knowing what was to come was kind of fun? What kind of build would he have at level 10? And at level 20? How much powerful would he get? Or would he not get powerful at all? Picking the best options even though he didn’t plan ahead. This was fun, wasn’t it? He looked at his screen again. First level, Doctor. Some people said that using Anesthesia was good way for high HP melee builds to keep fighting enduring the pain. Some great Tank builds used it. But, what class would he get next? Was it worth to pick a skill now without knowing what would come? First his stats then, he thought. +1 on Vitality, for survival. That goblin’s knife earlier was really dangerous to risk being hit without a Vital Shield again. +1 Strength and +1 to Agility, he chose at last after thinking for a long time. No matter what, he still wanted the fast and strong melee build after all. Matthew then looked at his screen again. Perhaps was for the best? "Matthew Lordstone – Level 1
