I wasn't able to complete that sentence. Just the mere thought of my sister getting trapped by those men makes my blood boil. Despite my rough relationship with my sister, it was a fact that I cared for her. And if someone dares try harming her, I would personally make them compensate for that.
I comforted the girl as much as I could while she hugged me tightly and wept in silence.
It was the first time I had seen this side of hers. And I feel relieved that I was here to soothe her.
She remained in my arms for a good half an hour before she finally seemed to be a little calmer than before.

Truth be told, even if she hadn't asked, I still would have remained by her side tonight. After all, as a family, we need to support each other at our worst.

Mom and Dad were already working to meet the needs, and if they found out that Shiori was also working, they would think that they weren't able to fulfill our requirements.
Hearing my words, Shiori blinked in surprise, but she denied my suggestion, "Even though I wouldn't be paying anything to those people, I still want to earn enough money to pay my college fees. Mom and Dad are already under so much pressure and-"
Before she could begin sobbing for another reason I raised my hand to stop her,
"Just give me a month and all our worries would be sorted. Trust me for this, Shiori."
If Shiori had liked the work she was doing then I wouldn't have pursued her to leave the job. However, upon reading her memories,(I had to in order to know the identities of those bullies), I got to know how much work she had to do for so little pay.
The reason why I asked for a month was because I had something in mind. It was legal and using it as a source of income just to show my parents wouldn't be problematic. Everything would get sorted.
Shiori didn't provide me with a concrete answer but in this condition, I didn't want to continue talking about the same thing I so helped her to sit on the bed.
Checking my phone, I found the delivery guy was near the house,
"I will be back in a minute." Since I didn't want my parents to know about this food delivery nearly at midnight, I dashed downstairs and walked out of the house sneakily.
'I am sure Dad must be...' His guilt surely would have led Dad to make some advances toward Mom, and thus it was highly likely, for them to be in bed; having sex.
I had no issue with that, but thinking about what would happen once Mom gets to know about my and Dad's relationship, gives me the creeps. She can be really dangerous sometimes.
Regardless, I walked out of the house and found the delivery boy just was about to ring the bell.
"Thank you. Here is your tip." I had already paid for the food and gave some thousand yen bill as a tip before retreating.
The delivery boy flashed a toothy smile as I closed the door and rushed back to Shiori's room.
"Food is h-" My happy chime was broken when my gaze landed on Shiori.
With tears streaming down her face, she was hurriedly typing messages on her phone...possibly to Shiro.
'I have a lot of work to do...' Sighing, I put down the bag of food on the table and easily snatched the phone away from her.
"Please, Minoru....don't do this..." She raised her hand to take the phone back but I readily resist her attempt.
The look of desperation and frustration in her eyes was so vivid that for a moment, I felt bad for revealing the truth about that Shiro bastard
However, considering what kind of a**hole he was, it was for her best to know his real face.
But, seeing her just makes me sad...
