The porridge needed another hour. No one complained. Customers played games, chatted, even played cards.

After sending off most children, four remained—their parents routinely late. The nursery couldn’t refuse them (extra fees helped). Today, Rongshuang delegated supervision to another teacher.
“Let’s find Daddy!” Youyou cheered, grabbing Rongshuang’s hand.
“Teacher, are you busy tomorrow?”
“No, just resting. Why?”
“Want to spend the whole day at Daddy’s shop with us?!”
Rongshuang’s pulse quickened. She loved the shop’s warmth—the chatter, the way Jiang Feng moved…
“Would your father agree?”

At 5:17 PM, they arrived.
The elderly regulars lit up.

“Her teacher. Saw her yesterday too. Something’s brewing.”

Rongshuang blushed but didn’t deny it.
Inside, Jiang Feng gestured to two stools by the counter—reserved for them. Her heart fluttered.
Porridge and buns were served.

Rongshuang sipped. Her eyes widened. The best she’d ever tasted.
By 5:35 PM, everything sold out.
Grumbling customers left:
“Slept five extra minutes and missed it!”
“Tomorrow, I’m queueing at dawn!”
As Jiang Feng cleaned, Rongshuang offered help—then hiccuped, her glossy hair swaying.
He chuckled. “Can you even stand?”
She couldn’t. Two bowls of porridge. Six buns. A new record.
Youyou clutched her stuffed belly. “Daddy, I have an announcement. You can object, but no vetoes.”
“Teacher Rongshuang is spending tomorrow with us!”
Rongshuang held her breath.
Jiang Feng shook his head. “Not tomorrow. Your mom’s visiting at 8 AM.”
