Bryan’s black Lamborghini was currently parked in front of Paula’s house. They were both inside the car. Neither of them wanted the date to come to an end, even though it was already past midnight.
“I had a lovely time with you.” Amy said, smiling at their entwined fingers.
“Me too. I hope we can do this again.” Bryan replied, kissing her knuckles.
“Sure.” She smiled and they fell into a comfortable silence.
“Do you have plans for tomorrow?” She then asked.
“Missing me already?” He joked.
“No silly! Just wanted to know what you’ll be doing.”
“I thought you already know that.”
“Bryan!”
“I’m sorry, my love… Since it’s already past midnight, I’ll try to get some work done.”
“Are you being serious?” Amy asked with a raised eyebrow.
“Well, you wanted to know what I’ll be doing.”
“Aren’t you gonna get some sleep?”
“No. I have a lot to do.”
“You always have a lot to do… Please, try to get some sleep. For me?” She pouted, batting her eyelashes at him.
Bryan pretended like he was giving it a thought, then he said
“For you?”
Amy nodded eagerly in reply.
“Okay.”
She excitedly gave him a kiss on his cheek, earning a chuckle from him.
“What will you be doing tomorrow?” He asked back.
“I most certainly will be receiving some scolding from my mom for coming past midnight.”
Bryan’s mood suddenly changed after Amy’s reply. He suddenly became aware that this wasn’t the right way to go about things, especially for Amy. According to what she told him, this is her first relationship. Her first relationship shouldn’t be a secret, it should be something she was proud about. He felt bad for putting her in such a situation.
“I know she’s worried, but I’m not a baby..” Amy continued, not taking notice of Bryan’s mood change.
“I mean.. I did it on purpose, so she’ll be asleep by the time I get back.” She turned to look at Bryan and noticed that there was a distant look in his eyes. His mind was obviously on something else.
“Babe, what’s wrong?” She asked in concern, cupping his face in her hands.
“Is this what you truly want?” He asked out of nowhere.
What is he talking about? Amy wondered.
“What do you mean?” She confusedly asked.
“Are you willing to be in a secret relationship?”
“What are you trying to say? I don’t get you.” Amy didn’t like where this conversation was going.
“Amy, you’re young and very beautiful. You shouldn’t be anyone’s secret, not even me.”
She angrily let go of his hand.
“Princess, I don’t want you getting in trouble with your parents.”
“Or you’re just tired and no longer interested.” Amy countered, already irritated with this conversation.
“I never said that.” Bryan said in defense.
“Then, what are you saying, Bryan?” She angrily asked.
“I knew perfectly well what I was doing when I agreed to this.. Gosh, Bryan! I even suggested it, so why are you bringing this up?”
“I care about you, that’s why.” Bryan stated in a calm voice because he didn’t want to be having an argument with Amy, not on their first date.
“If you really care about me, you wouldn’t be saying these things… I knew I would never be good enough for you.” Amy said in conclusion before angrily climbing out of the car. Bryan wasted no second in going after her.
“Amy? Amy!” He called, trying to meet her pace. He held her hand when he finally reached her, to prevent her from taking any step further.
“I’m sorry, okay? I was only worried about putting you in an uncomfortable situation.” He explained, wrapping his arms securely around her waist.
“Do you really love me?” Amy asked in a quiet voice.
“Of course, I do.” Bryan replied, cupping her cheeks.
“Then please, don’t ever bring this up again.” She wrapped her arms around his neck, placing her forehead against his.
“I’m sorry for reacting the way I did… I know I messed up our date because of that. Forgive me, I’m new to all of this.” She apologized.
“You did nothing wrong, and tonight was perfect… I won’t bring this up again. I promise.” Bryan’s statement brought a genuine smile to Amy’s face.
“I love you, Bryan.” She whispered against his lips.
“I love you more.” He pulled her in, claiming her mouth. He could feel the light tickle of her breath beneath his nose. His arms tightened around her waist to feel her closer. Amy moaned into the kiss from his action, her lips slightly parting, allowing his tongue to slip inside.
Their tongues danced together, as they both enjoyed the taste of their shared breath. After what felt like forever, they pulled away from the kiss to catch their breath.
“Goodnight, or should I say good morning.” Amy murmured with a smile.
“Good morning.” Bryan said back, tucking her hair behind her ear to have a proper look at her beautiful face.
“I better say goodbye, so you can get some sleep.” He then said, placing a delicate kiss on her forehead.
“Goodbye.” Bryan reluctantly let go of Amy’s waist and walked to his car.
“Try to get some sleep too.” She said, just as he was about getting into the car.
He nodded with a small smile and climbed into the car. She waved him goodbye and he drove off.
Amy giggled to herself before turning around, towards the door. She took the house key from her purse and opened the door, walking into the house. The lights suddenly turned on the moment Amy stepped into the living room.
“What the hell was that out there?”
