FFF Class Auto Hero: The Weakest Class Turned Out To Be The Strongest? Chapter 1

The sun beamed through the large bus windows as Akihara High's students chattered excitedly. The bus sped along the highway, heading toward the Takasumi Botanical Gardens, a massive, serene estate well-known for its rare plant species, colorful landscapes, and the famed Glass Butterfly Dome. At the front of the bus, Miss Aiko Tanaka, with her neatly tied chestnut hair and crisp pale-blue blouse, tapped the microphone to get the students' attention. "Everyone, listen up!" she called. "We're about twenty minutes away from the gardens. Remember, this is a learning experience, so no horseplay. Stick with your groups, and under no circumstances should anyone wander off. Understood?" "Yes, Sensei!" came the reply from the students, though it was quickly followed by giggles and murmurs. In the middle rows, Takashi, a boy with spiky black hair, leaned over the aisle to tap Miko, his seatmate. "So, Miko, what's the first thing you're gonna do when we get there? Bet you're gonna skip straight to the flowerbeds, huh? Gonna smell some roses and write haikus or something?" Miko, wearing her signature oversized hoodie and a pair of earbuds dangling from her neck, smirked. "As if. I'm heading straight for the carnivorous plants. I heard they have a pitcher plant that can swallow frogs whole. What about you, Takashi? Gonna climb a tree and get us kicked out?" Takashi grinned mischievously. "Only if it's a really cool tree. Hey, Souta!" he called to the boy seated behind him. "What about you? Gonna sketch some artsy masterpiece and win an award or something?" Souta, a lanky boy with glasses perched on his nose and a sketchpad in his lap, shrugged. "I was thinking of sketching the waterfall area. Aya showed me a picture, and it looks perfect for a nature scenery in my manga." Aya, a girl with ponytails and a phone glued to her hand, rose from her seat, eyes sparkling. "Souta's got taste! That waterfall is the prettiest spot. I'm taking, like, a thousand photos for my blog. Miko, you better photobomb me with one of those freaky plants." Miko rolled her eyes but smirked. "Sure, Aya. I'll give your followers nightmares." "Only if you make it your profile pic!" Aya added, making the group laugh. A few seats down, Yuto, a quiet boy with tousled brown hair and a book on his lap, spoke. "You know," he said softly, "the botanical gardens are famous for their medicinal plant collection. They have this herb, um, angelica root or something, that's been used for centuries. I might try to learn more about it." Aya raised an eyebrow. "Wow, Yuto. That's... cool, I guess? But maybe take a break from being a genius and enjoy the scenery, huh?" "Let the guy nerd out, Aya," Takashi said, smirking. "At least he's not trying to go viral like you." "Oh, shut it!" Aya pouted. Haruka, a tall, athletic girl in a sports jacket, leaned in to join the conversation. "Actually, Yuto's got a point. Some of those herbs might be useful for sports injuries. I might take notes, too. It's not all about selfies, Aya." "You too, Haruka?!" Aya exclaimed dramatically, making everyone laugh again. At the very back of the bus, Rikuya Takatsuki, or "Riku," sat slumped against the window, his arms crossed and raven-black hair partially hiding his face. His friend Kenta, a cheerful boy with curly hair, leaned over the aisle and shook his shoulder. "Riku! Wake up, man. We're almost there. You don't wanna miss out on the fun, do you?" Riku groaned, barely lifting his head. "Fun? Let me sleep until we're there, Kenta. Wake me when the interesting part starts." Kenta rolled his eyes. "You'll miss everything if you keep that attitude. Seriously, pull yourself together, dude. Even Yuto's excited, and he's, like, the least hype person I know." "I heard that," Yuto said with a mildly irritated look. Miss Tanaka spoke again. "Mr. Takatsuki!" she called sharply, glaring from the front of the bus. "This is a school trip, not nap time. Pull yourself together!" "Ugh... Yes, Sensei," Riku mumbled, sitting up straighter. Though his expression remained drowsy, he ran his hand through his hair, revealing his face and his peculiar lifeless black eyes. "Riku's gonna fall asleep in the gardens," Takashi teased, craning his neck to look back. "Bet he'll end up snoring next to a Venus flytrap." "He'd probably scare the plants with those lifeless eyes of his," Haruka said, earning chuckles from the group. In the back of the bus, another boy, Renji, with neatly styled blond hair and a smug smirk, leaned back in his seat and crossed his arms. "You know, Rikuya, I don't even know why you bother coming on these trips. You're always half asleep anyway. Pretty much wasted on you." Rikuya turned his head slowly, his tired eyes narrowing slightly as he responded with dry sarcasm. "Haha, very funny, Renji. Half the day hasn't even gone by, and you're already looking for a way to stroke your shell of an ego." Renji's smirk vanished as he sat up straighter, his tone defensive. "What did you just say?" Before Rikuya could respond, Miss Tanaka's voice cut through the argument. "Enough! Both of you—knock it off! I am not going to deal with this nonsense today." She gave them a sharp glare that silenced the bus momentarily. Suddenly, a blinding light burst through the bus, flooding every corner in an intense radiance. "What's happening?" Miss Tanaka exclaimed, shielding her eyes. "Sensei! What is this?!" Rikuya's fatigue vanished as he instinctively raised an arm to shield his face. The intensity of the light was almost unbearable, but just as quickly as it came, it began to fade. When the light finally subsided, an uneasy silence filled the air. Slowly, the students uncovered their eyes, blinking in shock at their new surroundings. The bus was gone. They were no longer on the highway. Instead, they stood on a cold, smooth stone floor within an expansive circular room. The room was illuminated by glowing blue runes carved into the walls and floor, pulsing faintly like a heartbeat. Towering stone pillars lined the room, stretching toward an impossibly high ceiling shrouded in shadow. Along the edges of the room stood hooded figures in white robes, their hands raised as they murmured in a strange language. At the center of the chamber, the students and Miss Tanaka stood clustered together on a raised dais, surrounded by a glowing magic circle etched with complex symbols. The air smelled of burning incense and something metallic, like ozone. The students were confused and began to murmur with a touch of panic. "This... This can't be real." Miss Tanaka stepped forward, trying to hide her own unease as she addressed the hooded figures. "Excuse me! What is the meaning of this? Where are we? Who are you?" One of the hooded figures, an older man with a long white beard and piercing blue eyes that glowed faintly, stepped forward. He carried a staff with a blue shimmering crystal at the top. His deep voice echoed through the room. "You have been summoned, chosen ones, to fulfill a sacred purpose. Welcome to the kingdom of Aradorn." The students exchanged bewildered glances, panic starting to set in. "Summoned?" Souta asked, clutching his sketchpad tightly. "Wait... is this some kind of Isekai thing?"
