“Who is he?” Brandon asked when he saw Alaric joining Colton a few minutes later.
“Lee’s friend,” Colton replied, to which Brandon, Calvin, Artemis, and Caroline, looked at Alaric from top to bottom because Laira had never had any friend in all her life. It wasn’t that she liked staying alone. It was just that no one could really accept her just for HER, not even her own twin’s sister.
Alaric couldn’t understand why they were staring at him like he was an Alien. It was definitely something that he wasn’t expecting. After all, they were werewolves, and finding a vampire as their daughter or sister’s friend, they were more like shock rather than feeling disgusted or judging Liara for making him as her friend.
“Hey, buddy!! I’m Calvin.” Alaric looked at the carbon copy of Colton, whom he hadn’t observed before because he was busy wondering why he was receiving that look. Now, it was his time to get shocked. “Not a big fan of vampires because of what we are, but if you’re Lee’s friend, then you’re my friend as well,” he said with a wink, giving Alaric a friendly environment.
“What’s your power?” Brandon asked, arching his eyebrow.
“I can mask the scent,” Alaric replied.
“Perfect,” Caroline replied with a smile. “I can use my power to teleport all of us inside. By the way, I’m Caroline,” She added.
‘A witch.’ Alaric looked at her in surprise. What kind of family was this? They had all types of species in their family. All of a sudden, he heard a low possessive growl; Artemis pulled Caroline toward him, giving warning Alaric to stop staring at her.
“Everyone!! Boss already went inside.” Tyler informed everyone about Colton, who ignored the unnecessary conversation and focused on his main work.
“It’s your turn,” Brandon spoke, looking at Alaric, who nodded his head and looked at everyone around him. They had a team of around thirty to thirty-five people in total. He masked everyone's scent.
“Do you know how to fight? If yes, we have extra weapons.” Tyler said, looking at Alaric.
“I need Longsword,” Alaric said.
“Okay then, everyone!! Make sure that no one will come across Colton when he will be killing everyone like a killing machine. He might attack you too in anger.” Brandon warned before Caroline teleported everyone inside the pack and dropped a small group of people at every hostel building where innocent students were kept as a hostage.
The plan was simple, Colton was going to distract and kill everyone by attacking them from the front, and the rest of them would attack silently.
That was when everyone heard an ear-piercing howl that didn’t sound like it belonged to any werewolf. A couple of them watched a silver Lycan running toward two vampires in anger, but it was not easy for the Lycan to catch them because a lot of vampires started blocking his way by using their power, and Colton watched this.
How could he miss that? Not when he could sense power from one of them.
Inigo howled in pain when a lot of vampires jumped on him in unity to kill him. They tied his legs with a big silver chain quickly and bit Inigo multiple times, not knowing that he was no other than Theodore and that their venom wouldn’t affect him.
“Get the fuck off from my friend,” Alaric screamed, beheading the head of a couple of vampires. He cut the silver chain, freeing Inigo’s leg.
Inigo growled at him in anger. He was so pissed at the vampires at the moment that he really wanted to hit Alaric, but he couldn’t make the same mistake that Theodore did. He punished their mate for being a werewolf, even though she was innocent. Now that the way he used to see things had been changed, he just couldn’t start hating and killing all vampires for no reason.
At least not Alaric; he would have been nothing but nice to him if he had skipped the irritating part then.
“I will take that as thank you,” Alaric said, not understanding what he meant to say by growling at him.
Inigo shook his head and ripped the head of other vampires while Alaric looked for Liara. He couldn’t find her, as if she would have used scent to hide her smell before.
“Alaric, why are you killing our people?” Emma asked who had the power to change the weather, finding him helping the big monster or, say, beast.
“I’m doing what the demand of this situation is!!” Alaric replied. “Elder Ozul planned to kill me. That’s why I’m doing everything that is in my hand so that his plan will flop.”
“By killing your own people? If Elder Ozul betrayed you, then why are you killing others? We didn’t plan anything against you. We’re innocents.”
“Don’t you think that even though werewolves are our enemies, we are planning to torture and kill innocent young werewolves who did nothing wrong to us? At least not in the present?” Alaric questioned, crossing his arms across his chest. This thought came up in his mind all of a sudden, and something clicked in his mind. Those who were killing the vampires wouldn’t harm him as he was labeled with a tag ‘LIARA’s FRIEND.’ So, maybe he could save the lives of those vampires who wanted to surrender?
“If you want to live or anyone like you, then surrender. I promise I will request them to spare your and others' lives.” He suggested before adding, “Choice is all yours.”, With this, his head snapped in the direction of Inigo’s loud growl.
Colton killed Elder Ozul, and all the official coven members sensed that. He was never one of them, nor did Theodore, because they were more like spies, and Ozul didn’t want to get his coven’s name revealed in case any of them got caught during their work.
Alaric’s mouth widened in horror when he watched Inigo running toward Colton to attack him. He looked damn too pissed at the fact that Colton killed Ozul.
‘Mother Selene!! Why the hell are they both fighting? They both are on the same team; I guess.’ he said and ran toward them, not able to understand what he could do now. He knew only one person could tame this angry beast and started looking for Liara.

Colton had a mask on his face and was blinded by his anger or the new power that he received by killing Ozul. And the way he was fighting, it looked like he wanted more!!
At the same time, Inigo still had the upper hand in the fight, which might be that was the benefit of hybrid. Inigo caught Colton’s throat, slamming his head at the stone multiple times. He was about to stab a spear in Colton’s chest when he fell unconscious; Brandon attacked Inigo to save his son.
Inigo growled at the werewolf in anger to challenge him by attacking him. He punched Brandon’s wolf so hard that he fell on the ground, whimpering in pain. Inigo looked around and found the spear that had fallen from his hand and stabbed Brandon’s wolf right in his chest.
“Dadddddddddddd” Liara screamed in horror when she realized the damage that her mate had done.
