An ordinary sedan pulled up in a lightly illuminated street.
The living conditions here were poor with houses clustered up together to form a small settlement or a small residential area. The street was filled with garbage dumped by the residents in every corner.
Looking around as she pulled over, Stacey could not help knit her eyebrows together in confusion, "Are you sure that we are in the right place?"
Due to her insistence earlier, Roland reluctantly agreed with her offer to bring him home.
However, Stacey did not expect that his house was actually very far from the mall. It was around 30 minutes of travel with her sedan. What surprised her even more was that Roland led him to this dark area that screamed 'illegal' in all sense.
If she did not know that Roland has a lot of money and was a good person based on their interactions earlier, she would have thought that she was getting robbed.
Seeing the poor living conditions in this area, she could not imagine just how Roland managed to endure living here all this time. She wondered just how did Roland endure living here even though he clearly has a lot of money.
p In her opinion, even if Roland was trying to test himself by experiencing a poor life, isn't this living condition too extreme?
"Say, you're not going to continue living here, right?" She asked.
Based on her observations and well… fantasy's so far, she was sure that Roland was already done living a mundane life and was now slowly returning to the rich circle.
This could be seen in his actions just recently where he bought a new set of clothes, a new phone and a luxurious watch all together.
Piecing them together, she was positive about her guess. She asked this question as she was concerned for his health for living in such a dirty and untidy place.
Living or experiencing a poor life was one thing, but living a poor and dirty life should be a no go, right?
If Stacey knew that Roland just literally obtained the money a few hours ago, just what kind of reaction would she have?
On the other hand, hearing her question also made Roland think about this matter.
Ever since he attended college, he has been renting a small room in this neighborhood all because it was cheap and that there was no other alternative that he could do.
However, now with the money in hand, and the chance to change his life, he decided to live in a nicer home, and be nice to himself too.
"I won't. Do you have any places that you can recommend? Just a normal one is fine, I don't want a very luxurious house for the time being." He said, answering Stacey's question.
Phew!
Stacey secretly heaves a sigh of relief hearing that.
"I don't have anything in mind right now, but I'll see if I can give you a recommendation later. We have each other's contact, anyway. Hehe," Stacey said, even letting out a grin after thinking that they have each other's number now and the fact that she was Roland's first contact on his new phone and new sim card.
"Just leave it to me."
The reason why Roland asked her was that he knew that she was smart and was probably more familiar with the nice places here due to her connections as a manager. In the end, Stacey truly did not disappoint as she gave Roland the assurance.
Roland nodded his head in satisfaction after hearing that. With Stacey's reassurance, there was nothing to worry about the matter regarding the house anymore.
Roland bid farewell to Stacey shortly after he embarked from her sedan.
After her sedan disappeared from his view, Roland, with all the bags he was carrying, started walking on a small footway at the center of clustered houses.
He was carrying a lot of items but due to the physique enhancement potion that he took earlier, it was no problem for him to course this narrow path at all.
A few minutes later, he finally arrived at a small wooden two story house.
Roland shook his head as he looked at the flickering light-bulb at the doorway of the house.
This house was actually an illegal apartment complex. It has six rooms in total, two downstairs and the remaining four upstairs. All tenants shared a single bathroom and a kitchen. They went by the rules; first come first serve to avoid arguments from other tenants.
The house was small and with it being divided into eight rooms including the bathroom and the kitchen, the space for each room was only enough for a single person to move around. It was not a good living condition but good enough for its price of 10 Global Dollars per month rent.
Roland finally entered the house and made his way to the first room on the upper floor. He unlocked the door to his room and what met his eyes was the dirty single spacer bed as well as the trash lying in every corner of the room.
Looking at the state of his room, Roland could only shake his head in disgust at his previous self. This room was truly dirty, as if a child who didn't know how to clean was living here.
Roland set aside the things he was carrying as he stretched his hands and cracked his neck.
The next moment, Roland could be seen cleaning his room for the first in a few months.
He changed the bed's cover and sweeped the floor clean. He also washed the dishes that had been neglected for a while.
A few minutes later, Roland managed to gather two bags worth of garbage as well as a lot of dirty clothes and garments.
Seeing the now slightly clean room, Roland finally nodded his head, satisfied at his masterpiece.
Roland wanted to change his habits slowly to live a better life. This dirty room getting cleaned-up in a few minutes was only the beginning.
Although he just cleaned the room, Roland does not feel tired at all. His body was still in tip-top condition as if what he did was nothing more than just a single blink of an eye.
While cleaning, Roland also noticed that his strength and speed has increased a lot compared to before. His sense of balance, smell, and eyesight seemed to have improved too.
The physique enhancement potion that he took was indeed magical.
