As the maddening laughter filled with infinite glee reverberated through the surroundings and the steps continued to grow closer, Axel could not do anything; he could barely keep himself from falling unconscious, and he had an inkling that if he let himself fall asleep now, it might just be the end. With sheer will and effort, he managed to look, and the blurry figure of Ken Dusker appeared in front of him.
The noble heir of the Dusker Dukedom was looking at him with such a broad smile that it almost threatened to split his face apart. Ken Dusker came close to him and stomped on his hand with all his might. He couldn’t feel his hands anymore, but the pain still somehow reached him. The joint of his palm broke as he let out a small scream.
Ken seems to revel in pleasure at his every minor or significant agonizing gesture as if hearing the sweetest melody of his life. Axel could hear Ken Dusker clapping his hands loudly, his mocking voice flowed in his ears, dripping with unquenchable hatred, "Look how the mighty have fallen."
Ken Dusker then proceeded to kick him on the head, which sent him flying backwards a few meters, forcing Axel to cough up blood. His durability had dropped to an all-time low; at this moment, even an attack broke his nose and bloodied his face even further. Ken stepped forward slowly again, his smile expressing the sweet satisfaction of revenge. He continued malevolently spreading his arms wide in a grandiose gesture,
"The one and only Axel Nomrad, who alone took care of 300 powerful Seekers. The best runecaster of the next generation, holding the same runic eyes as his very legendary grandfather Damien Fucking Nomrad, that very person is now grovelling at my feet."
Axel was unable to react to those statements or have an emotional outburst; pain, too much pain, coursed through his entire being. He could even feel the adverse effects of it reaching into his soul sanctum.
He had no mana, the poison was destroying his insides, the demon bloodline was unable to do anything because of the properties of the poison perhaps, his body lay on the ground unmoving, facing towards the sky, if there were too much light on his vision beforehand, now there seem to be too much darkness, though he preferred this instead of the light.
The figure of Ken came into his vision again, and stomped on his chest with all his might, which broke most of his ribcages, then again and again
and again...and again...and again...and again...and again...and again...and again...and again...and again...and again...and again...and again...and again...and again...
Axel continued to let out a gut-wrenching scream with every stomp that broke the organs in his chest; his demon blood could barely keep his heart functioning, but it was also near its end. With every stomp of his foot on Axel’s head, chest, stomach or legs, he continued to shout,
"Because of that blue-haired bitch mother of yours, my mother suffered all her life."
"SHE COULDN’T DO ANYTHING TO THAT BITCH MOTHER OF YOURS BECAUSE OF THAT DAMN DAMIEN NOMRAD."
"NOW YOU WANT TO MAKE A COMEBACK? TAKE THE PLACE OF YOUR GRANDFATHER?"
"THEN TAKE REVENGE ON US? YOU THINK I’LL LET YOU DO THAT, YOU DAMN LOWLIFE."
"You probably don’t remember what happened that day because of the coma."
"BUT YOUR MOTHER WAS RAPED RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOUR EYES, SHE WAS VIOLATED BY TWO HIRED GOONS WHOSE NAMES I DON’T EVEN KNOW ABOUT."
"AND YOU REMAINED FROZEN WATCHING IT ALL WITH WIDE OPEN EYES."
Ken stopped for a moment and saw that Axel Nomrad still had life left in him. He looked at the dirtied blue-haired wretch in disgust and commented, "Cockroach."
He added in immense annoyance, "You think I didn’t notice that you were so severely weakened, after showing that much power. I couldn’t believe my eyes that you were in such a bad state. And I also prepared the perfect poison for you, hehe, the dilution of the material which is resistant to rune engraving, also known as the poison of runes. There’s no information about it anywhere in the library or anywhere in the academy, and it was so damn hard to get. It’s a material that is a perfect counter to runic sorcerers."
"I WANTED TO TAKE MY SWEET TIME IN TORTURING YOU SLOWLY, UNTIL YOU BEGGED ME FOR DEATH, BUT ALAS! I WILL HAVE TO DO WITH JUST THIS. DO SAY HELLO TO YOUR MOTHER ON THE OTHER SIDE."
Ken Dusker then put his one knee on the ground and whispered close to his ear, "I WONDER HOW YOUR FATHER WILL REACT WHEN I SEND HIM YOUR SEVERED AND BLOODIED HEAD AS A GIFT, ON THE VERY DAY THAT BLUE HAIRED BITCH MOTHER OF YOURS WAS VIOLATED AND KILLED."
Just as he said those words, A sharp sword coated with that same material of poison appeared in his hand. As the sword was about to pierce right through the heart of Axel Nomrad, the runecaster stopped the sword with both of his hands, with all of his might. The sword cut into the flesh of palms and fingers, and more blood started to come out and drop into his own body, travelling down from the sword itself.
Axel looked at Ken Dusker with blazing hatred of his own. Ken’s last comment completely awoke the last bit of will that was left inside of him. He struggled with all the fury he could muster, despite most of his bones being broken, his eyes not seeing, his heart about to stop, most of his organs failing, most potent of the poison countered to his entire being was melting his insides, all the backlash still weighing down on his existence without a shred of mercy of his almost dead condition.
It was even a wonder how Axel Nomrad was still holding onto the last thread of life, the last trace of his existence, and it wasn’t about living; it was about vengeance; he couldn’t die at the hands of the very woman’s son, the same woman who was responsible for the death of his mother. He couldn’t, at least not in his hands, no matter what, and yet, reality was always disappointing.
His body gave way to exhaustion; he was no longer capable of operating. As the sword pierced through his chest, the heartbeat stopped, his eyes dimmed, and the dull golden patterns flickered brightly one last time. It was at this moment that the core existence of the one named Axel Nomrad had died. His beautiful eyes closed forever. At his last moment, a demon-like voice whispered in his ears, promising the most incredible and sweetest revenge that one could ever hope for.
