Lumina nodded and stood there with a serious expression. Axel went closer to the edge of the chasm. To take a closer look. The valkyrie was also there, watching everything with a neutral expression. He noticed that the water on that side had turned a darker shade of purple.
He glanced towards their commander, but she didn’t say anything or look at him. Or show any reaction, almost as if she were lost in her own thoughts. With some hesitation, he called out to her, "Are those poisons potent enough for the sea creatures?"
For a moment, Axel thought that if she had blinked her lovely red eyes in confusion, but then disregarded that thought with a frown. She arched her eyebrows at the sight, seeing that they continued to throw bottles even now. Her gaze lingered on the darkening purple waters for a bit longer.
She nodded after giving it some deep thought, "Yes, they are definitely potent enough."
Axel’s expression turned sour. "Don’t tell me they are actually making the creatures forcefully climb on this side. And attack us?"
She nodded with an unusually serious expression, "If I’m not wrong, there is some repellent on the walls that stops the sea creatures from climbing up, the steep curve is not the only reason. After all, these creatures aren’t exactly fish-like; they have four or more limbs and can probably walk or hunt on land if necessary."
He stared at her in slight shock. ’Doesn’t that mean the professors had placed them here just for someone smart enough to use them?’
Just as he thought that, he could see the fight taking place at the end of the bridge reach even greater intensity as everyone brought out their runic weapons, both the attackers and defenders. Enrick, with his conjurations, went all out. Conner remained slightly behind, making sure that everyone was continuously throwing in the poison bottles, nonstop.
The water on that side started to bubble and churn. Axel’s eyes narrowed, and so did the Valkyrie’s. The bubbling stopped for a moment. Axel was having a bad feeling at this point, unable to take his eyes away from the water.
The entire waterway erupted in a single burst, and the dark color began to spread even further. And right then, countless beastly screams were heard from the creatures on the water as they started jumping upwards and swimming in this direction. All creatures that were deep in the waters surfaced, as he saw with horrifying eyes the 200+ peak 2nd tier sea creatures rushing in this direction from all sides.
The valkyrie also had a grim expression on her face. Perhaps her most incredible frustration at this moment was that she could not utilize her own overwhelming strength. Axel himself still wasn’t convinced that the creatures could climb up. After all, he had seen numerous of them trying it, but unable to do so.
And just as expected, every single sea creature on the poisoned waterway rushed to this side and immediately attempted to climb the steep curve. As their monstrous and large bodies completely appeared in his view, he frowned deeply. Yes, they were all four-legged creatures.

While Seekers could indeed fight with supernatural creatures of one tier higher, that’s only if the difference in sublevels is short. For example, a typical late 1st phase Seeker would be able to fight with an initial or mid 2nd tier creature. But there were all peak 2nd-tier creatures on the verge of evolving to the 3rd tier.
Axel himself could probably take on multiple of them, but that’s the problem, there were too many of such creatures. He looked towards the valkyrie with a grim expression on his face and requested with a lot of hesitation, "I don’t know why you’re so absent-minded. But you should take charge, or we might actually lose this one."
She looked at him for a moment, then added neutrally after a few seconds of pause, "No, didn’t you say that you won’t lose as long as you don’t want to. Then take charge, I won’t be doing so."
She turned around and went backwards, Axel gritted his teeth, ’Just what was wrong with this bitch?’
He wanted to shout at her, but controlled his frustration and anger with a deep inhale. While most of the creatures were still unable to climb upwards after a few meters, some continued to climb higher. Many of the creatures began to emerge, climbing over the bodies of other creatures. It seems that poison is a serious matter.
He shouted loudly, "All fortifiers come here and rain down magic spells at the ones that managed to climb higher."
However, he specifically sent a message through the bands on his hands to Lumina and 10 more Seekers to stay by the side of the siege machines and the flag. The rest lined up right beside the chasm, bringing out their shining rune artifacts made by him, which amplified their magic powers for each in different ways.
And the creatures that climbed up close enough, each got shot by multiple magic attacks, though some persisted through a few attacks, but eventually, for being unable to defend from the attacks, they fell all the way down.
