Chapter 200: Last Man Standing [1]
Looking at their fearful gazes, his smile widened, and his demon bloodline trembled in excitement. Something whispered into his ears, yes, that’s right, they should look at him in fear, in trepidation, that’s how it should be.
THAT IS HOW IT MUST BE.
The voice roared in his mind, it laughed in excitement, that is how these lowborn worms should look at him, a chilling bloodlust crept out, and spread to the surroundings. He let out a deep groggy and unnerving laughter that sent chills down the spine of everyone around.
For those who have not even experienced the bloodlust of the Valkyrie, just his bloodlust itself was frightening. One of the fortifiers stated in disbelief, “Impossible, that was an extremely powerful mental attack, how was that even destroyed?”
Axel stated with a chuckle, “This is thunder that aligns towards destruction.”
“So, it doesn’t matter whether it’s a mental or physical attack; it can destroy them all,” he added.
Jaden Redmar’s expression turned somewhat ugly hearing that, and he shot forward at Axel without wasting a second more. This man was too dangerous to play around with, concluded the enemy commander internally.
As an aura knight, he was a master at weapon combat, though the true terrifying might of it would be unlocked if he ever managed to reach the 5th phase. But for now, he could only use one aspect at a time now. And he was currently using the Aurauser aspect of his. It could be considered the most perfect individual combat aspect, excluding the 4-star saint aspect.
Usually, any of the warrior branch aspects absorb and purify the mana and then store that mana in their nexus core, but that also gains different properties according to what the aspect is.
The fighter aspect charges the purified mana with extra power slightly. The assassin aspect gives the purified mana stealth and swiftness-type attributes. Using that assassin aspect, Seeker assassins can hide themselves as well as move with deadly speed.
The Berserker aspect makes the purified mana violent and overcharged with power. Knight aspect does the opposite, it gives the purified mana attributes of control and combat efficiency.
As for the Aurauser aspect, it gives the Seeker a unique stat called “Aura”, unlike the other previous aspects which give the purified mana specific type of attributes, the purified mana is completely transformed and converted to this unique signature of energy called Aura, and it can have any of the previous attributes. With the intensity you desire, depending on the amount of stored reserve energy is used.
As for the Saint aspect, let’s just say it’s even more overpowered.
So, Jaden gave his aura as much sharpness as possible and struck down at Axel with all of his might. Axel’s eyes could see a sharp transparent coat of energy covering his hybrid sword artifact. Axel didn’t know why this guy was using a hybrid artifact instead of a relic considering both of his aspects are of the warrior branch.
Axel also slashed upwards with tremendous power. The blue lightning in his sword cackled even more. It struck the sword of his enemy and traveled through Jaden’s body, then discharged from his back, shocking his body violently, then the remaining power of the thunder went towards the fortifiers standing on the back. They hurriedly defended themselves, putting on a lot of water-attributed barriers, which discharged the lingering power of the lightning.
Another resounding explosion occurred, but it was on a much smaller scale incomparable to the last one. Jaden was thrown backward, both from the physical force behind the clash as well as the electrical power which shocked his entire nervous system badly, since the blue lightning had the destruction attribute, and it didn’t stop at that, his internal organs were also badly injured. He coughed up some blood but stood strong, pinning his sword to the ground.
Axel sneered at the enemy commander, who was almost critically injured just from the one clash, “You just saw me block the combined attack of almost 40 Seekers at once, yet you still dare to clash with me alone? But I do have to admit, you’re quite good, the very fact that you can still stand is.. commendable, I would say. For being a warrior branch specialist, your recovery strength and physical immunity to external influences seem good enough, I suppose.”
But Jaden only thought to himself in disbelief, ‘It was one thing that the thunder of his artifact was too dangerous and powerful. But I was pushed back that badly in terms of just physical strength?’
There were now traces of slight fear in his eyes; he could not help but think, ‘What a monster. The rumors weren’t exaggerated; rather, they weren’t boastful enough.’
He grunted and smiled at his powerful enemy, “You’re right, it seems I have not taken you seriously enough, I apologize.”
“You’re strong, I do admit it, strong enough to push me back in terms of physical prowess, and I know it’s not a strength that can be achieved through the mere boost in power from any artifacts. But it’s you who is still foolish enough to think that you can win against all of us?” he added threateningly.
Well, unfortunately, as it may be, it was the truth; Axel couldn’t win against all of them alone; heck, even winning against half would be a struggle. Of course, if he fully activated his runic eyes, and used multiple artifacts at once. But those were things he wasn’t willing to reveal yet. But he didn’t need to win, he only needed to wait until Heinz was done. Until he reached here.
Axel attacked again, and this time his enemies were all ready for it. This time, Jaden did not rush forward to tackle Axel himself; rather, all 80 of the fortifiers attacked Axel simultaneously. While he was slightly moving backward, and gulped down multiple potions to recover.
Axel, on the other hand, moved around the battlefield with inhumane grace and precision, as if dancing through the countless barrage of attacks consisting of innumerable elements. Using his mutated runic eyes, he could see through the gaps in the magic attacks, the best methods to counterattack them, as the knowledge and understanding flowed into him constantly.
