Chapter 161: The Valkyrie [4]
First, Axel stated his conditions aloud, and then the Valkyrie followed. With each condition laid out, one clause after another started appearing on the black parchment. When both parties had said all of their conditions. Prime Nexus asked them for confirmation.
[Conditions stated by both parties have been listed, requesting both individuals to review the conditions and finalize the contract. By the very conditions listed by both individuals, the contract must be fulfilled; if any or both individuals break the contract, their souls shall be annihilated.]
They both reviewed all the conditions written on the black parchment and nodded towards each other, seeing everything ok. They made a small cut on their fingers, and both let a single drop of their blood fall into the black parchment. The moment both of the blood fell into it, all the conditions written on it, which seemed to have been in gray, lit up in golden light. A strange ripple spread through the core of both of their existences. To be precise, both of their soul sanctums trembled, affected by the contract which was about to be initiated.
For a moment, Axel’s runic eyes in their passive form picked up some kind of extremely profound and complicated pattern on the black parchment. But an imminent sense of impending doom washed over him, he immediately closed his eyes; it was something too complicated and high-level for the current him to even look at. He felt like his head might explode if he were to keep looking at it for too damn long. The Valkyrie saw his condition and asked, “What’s wrong?”
He answered while waving his hand towards her, “It’s fine, I just saw some kind of really complicated runic pattern on the parchment, I suppose it was a bad idea to focus on something too high level.”
She said, “Well, then let’s finish this.”
Axel took a deep breath and calmed his mind. He opened his eyes and looked at the valkyrie. They both uttered unanimously, “Finalize the contract.”
The moment they said that, a greater tremor ran through both of their soul sanctums and their respective aspect chambers. Axel somehow felt his demon bloodline rage in some kind of weird excitement. He forcefully calmed it down, but there was another thing he felt, his secondary aspect chamber, a change occurred in it. He only felt it intuitively but didn’t understand. He brushed that thought aside, keeping a mental note to enter it and check it out, it’s been long due that he started progressing again on his 2nd aspect.
[Finalizing the contract, activating the conditions, the contract has been established between both Sophia Evercrest and Axel Nomrad.]
As the final message of confirmation by Prime Nexus flashed in front of their eyes, they both understood that the contract was now fully in effect. Not only that, because of Prime Nexus, they could intuitively understand the various conditions of the contract itself, as if everything related to it was simply engraved in their minds, making it very easy to understand and recall.
Now that it was over, Axel asked her immediately with glazed eyes, “Who is it?”
She stated unbothered by his eagerness, “Well, it is Taser Vex.”
Axel was stunned… he stood up immediately and slammed his hand on a table. This time, the impact was so great that it almost shook the entire room for a moment, and the poor table on which he slammed his hands on was obviously and very naturally broken into pieces.
Axel cursed, “Fuck, fuck, goddamn it, damn it, damn it……… Of course it was that son of a bitch, I should have known, it was almost obvious, now that I think about that slippery backstabber.”
He continued to curse for a while more, until he finally reeled in his rage, he took a deep breath, and came in front of the Valkyrie and sat in front of her on another chair. She kept looking at him, her face expressionless, but the gleam in her eyes sparked in slight amusement,
He merely snorted to himself and did not speak about that, even though he was in a pretty bad mood, thinking about that bastard Taser Vex, the biggest frustration was now that he couldn’t even do anything to the trash.
Axel spoke, “So, let me tell you the first few materials that I need, while your forging ability is even better than Lucien’s from what I know, but to make the best possible sword the two procedure cannot be done by two different people, I have to do the whole thing myself.”
He named the materials he needed and how much he needed all of them. Axel also gave her a list of additional equipment’s necessary.
“Also, this is going to take time, like a very long time. At least 6 months, I would say. A large part of that is because my forging capability is still not that good yet. I haven’t even mastered the few techniques which Lucien had taught me,” he added.
She said with dry humor, “I did hear that you were incredibly untalented in forging itself, Lucien would not stop talking about just how bad you were.”
“But that is a much longer time than expected, you should try and develop in your forging as fast as possible, if you haven’t even mastered the techniques of Lucien, you’re progress will not fasten even with my help. Since my methods are much more complicated, you could say.”
“So, I can only help you if you already have a certain level of expertise.”
Axel nodded and stood up. He ignored her obvious insult for his lack of talent in forging, he stated to her, “Well, now that all of our talks are over, let’s not meet each other unless necessary.”
After saying that, he turned around and was about to leave without bothering to listen to the valkyrie anymore or to even see if she had anything left to discuss.
But seeing that kind of attitude for the first time, Sophia for the first time felt surprised; she was stunned, but it was a surprise of a different kind, a visibly displeased and disappointed expression appeared on her face.
