It was like seeing a master painter draw a picture onto a white canvas then as the picture slowly came to be, it was turning almost lifelike, even those didn’t understand a thing about runic sorcery stared in awe, for reasons they didn’t even know about, the wind started to blow gently, birds chirping could be heard, it was if the world itself was celebrating it to a very small degree, prince Lucien especially with his 6th sense and a rudimentary sense from the dragon bloodline stared at the scene in pure awe.
There was a fundamentally profound power in the process of it, something very pure but powerful. As for the runecasters, they were even more dumbfounded, as he continued to engrave on one weapon after another, there were no traces of struggle on his face. Of course, his words weren’t heard by anyone; he didn’t let his words travel to anyone’s ears and disturb Axel’s engraving procedure. In just 30 minutes or less, he was done engraving all 12 swords. When the last one was done, the wind blew even more, far in the distance at the edge of the island, and sea waves crashed onto the shore.
Gentle and white clouds gathered high in the sky, the breeze of the wind became cooler, countless butterflies flew above Axel, buzzing happily, a few drops of rain even fell from the sky, it didn’t start raining but simply a few gentle drops fell and just from that, a rainbow showed in the sky beautifully barely noticeable.
A peaceful calmness spread through everyone’s hearts as a result of that scene. All the other runecasters stared at this with wide eyes, it almost seemed like some sort of epiphany was within their grasps but they weren’t able to understand it, Taser felt it, something was happening, something indescribably profound, it was right at the tip of his tongue, yet he wasn’t able to grasp it.
The same was for all the other runecaster’s they could feel something profound at their tongue, but weren’t able to taste it. There was one runecaster who had grasped it, actually, it was none other than Lumina. She understood it, a deep working of the runic sorcery, how she could do it better, how she could be better.
While Axel’s fellow runecaster peers were trying to grasp an epiphany from his masterful display of engravement, Professor Alfred, high in the sky, was feeling the exact opposite.
A wave of terror passed through the mind of the rune professor, his shock was so great at this point that he almost fell from the skies and crashed into the ground at everyone, the control of his mana almost going haywire.
All these changes in the environment were nothing but the acknowledgement of the world Will itself, but how can that be? Even the legendary elves who had an innate advantage on all sorts of magic because of their inherent bloodline, even they did not claim that there were more than a few people in their entire history who had ever managed to get the acknowledgement of the world Will, no matter how profound they were.
It means Axel’s runecasting is so great that the world Will had no choice but to acknowledge it instead of hindering it. He muttered in disbelief,
“Good lord, what a monster, this boy might even surpass his grandfather.”
The professor asked Axel, since the engraving was over, unable to contain his curiosity, “Axel, how?????”
Everyone broke out of their stupor; they suddenly realized that they were enchanted, utterly enchanted by the whole process, and didn’t even realize how the time had passed. They looked towards the professor and saw the traces of shock in his face and the question he asked. Just what did it mean? Even Prince Luther, who was leading the charges against him, was enamored by the artistic beauty of Axel’s engraving process.
Axel’s eyes finally moved from the weapons he was engraving, he looked towards his professor, and answered with a serene smile, “Because there is no one, no one more passionate and driven about runic sorcery than me, there is no one who puts in more effort than me in it, there is no one who loves it more than me, there is no one who is more enchanted by it than me, there is no one like me who finds it so beautiful, as beautiful as this cruel world itself.”
“And the world, whether it wants it or not, has no choice but to at least respect my boundless appreciation for it,” he concluded contentedly.
