Chapter 125: A Discovery
Within the pitch-black darkness of the void, he stood, at least that is what he supposed he was doing. Unable to feel anything, he started walking, but the fake void did not give him the sensation of any movement whatsoever.
He focused again, just as before, on sensing the void, spreading his existence, and detecting which part was moving. He must achieve it this time, no matter what. But a subconscious part of his mind kept him walking, with that thought being on the back of his head, he would not lose the entirety of himself into focusing in the void, after an unknown amount of time, he finally sensed it, the only thing that was moving within the absolute emptiness, it was himself.
That’s right, you need to become the water, you need to become the flow, quote on quote, what Lucien meant by water wasn’t exactly water, but anything in existence. Everything moves, everything vibrates. Except for the true void. But this was not the true void, it was a fake one. A beautiful revelation dawned on him, not by the magical theories of this world rather a scientific point of view from his old world.
Everything is made of atoms; in that sense, an atom itself consists of a Proton, an Electron, and a Neutron. Break them down and you will see quarks, break those and you will find the strings. A string that vibrates constantly is something that is at the core of every material, living or nonliving. The reason he needed to train in this fake void is to sense that vibration. Not exactly that, since he wasn’t nearly on that power level. But he could grasp the idea and, being able to sense it, even for a nanosecond, would suffice.
In this fake void, everything becomes clear, and if you truly focus, you can feel it. But this also explained the reason why nothing can exist in the true void; all the constantly vibrating strings would be rendered still in the true void. But here, they can still function for a while.
He now understood how the assimilation worked, what the void corruption actually was. His existence, which was made out of constantly vibrating strings, would be transformed into an element belonging to the economic void, thus transforming him into a void abomination.
After realizing all this and his eyes widened in a profound epiphany, a message in white letters flashed through his eyes, and a voice spoke directly in his head,

When the barrage of messages was over, Axel’s eyes shot up, and he found the 4th prince looking at him in bewilderment and confusion. Axel felt his whole body covered in sweat, and he was breathing loudly, like he was out of breath or something.
Lucien only looked at him strangely, but did not speak. After a few minutes in which Axel only breathed in and out loudly to calm himself for some unknown reason, he looked at Lucien and spoke, “Yeah, I think I did it.”
Lucien smiled, hearing that, though he was already sure, Axel had succeeded, “Well, I suppose that’s quite obvious, seeing that I didn’t have to risk my life again to bring you out and purify you from being assimilated into the void. I suppose.”
Lucien put his hand forward, Axel grabbed it, and then he got up. Lucien said to him, “From what I can surmise, you probably got something pretty good?”
Axel answered, “To be honest, I’m not sure about that. I would be able to tell that after testing it out.”
“Oh, let’s test it out right now, shall we?” suggested the 4th prince.
Axel shook his head at that response, he added, “I was almost about to be assimilated this time as well, thankfully I barely grasped the traces of the movement and realized that the only thing moving in the imitated void was myself, I was the water or to be precise I had to become the water, and the flow of it.”
“So, I’m too tired now. Maybe some other time.”
Lucien nodded in understanding, that was indeed the process, and since he does seem quite tired, he decided not to block his path. Axel went on his way for that day, while internally heaving a sigh of relief. He naturally would not reveal any of his important skills to Lucien. If the guy still pushed him about it, he would tell him to reveal his own skill, even though Axel himself knew of it.
Lucien was a monster in his own right, just like Axel had his own Runic eyes, Lucien had the dragon eyes, which were far more powerful than his own Runic eyes, from what he understood. His physical strength was far greater, his combat prowess and in many other ways, he was far above the current Axel. It would take time to close the gap, but not too much. A subtle, dark smile appeared on his face. Now that he had acquired another external sense, he could finally fight that demon phantom in his 2nd runic chamber.
First, he needs to understand the changes in it. Sitting on his bed after taking a relaxing shower, he brought up his Nexus Panel to see the changes in it.

Absolute Runecaster: The Runic symbols themselves are innately subservient to your existence.

Demon of Obsession: Because of your innately obsessive nature, the more your actions work towards the thing you are obsessed with. The more power is generated by the demon bloodline.
1) When your rage reaches its peak, you take on the demonic form, in that form, all stats + 10%, and you are unable to use any active abilities of your Runecaster aspect. There will be a short period of weakness after the form is reverted.
2) You’re killing intent is extremely pure and lethal passively because of the demon bloodline, and only increases in potency with accumulated negative emotions, and its power is increased even further upon reaching the Demonic Form.
3) You can only use Demonic Energy while being in the Demonic Form.
