Chapter 867: Chapter 865: Trinity
“How can I be just a mortal like Bell Chikaf? Even if he serves the True God, his status is too lowly. My status is much more noble than his,” the burly man said in a deep voice. “My name should be… hmm, Gabriel! I am the sacred and inviolable Angel, separated from all things unclean, guarding the True God! Hmm… at least a part of it…”
“And I…” the burly man looked around, puzzled again, and after a while, he nodded, revealing a look of sudden realization. “So that’s how it is.”
“A mortal serving the True God used a sliver of my power, but it seems he died due to some accident. In his last moments, he cast a Spell, attaching his remaining consciousness to a piece of real Angel Feather, attempting to have me complete the unfinished task. Interesting.”
“But in my current state, I can’t exert too much power, and I can’t even maintain my consciousness in this body for long. I can usually only influence from deep within the Spirit, acting only under rare circumstances. Any misstep and the mission might fail. In that case, I must be cautious.”
“Alright, for the True God, I can act at critical moments, but only in crucial situations—after all, a real Angel Feather only has so much power.”
After saying these things, the burly man’s expression turned weary, his eyelids began to droop, and the Angel’s consciousness fell into slumber.
Then his eyes widened, switching to Cheka’s consciousness.
Cheka looked around, revealing a fierce expression, clenched his fists, and said, word by word, “I must investigate this thoroughly, yes, thoroughly.”
Honestly, being just a remnant of consciousness, he almost couldn’t understand why he was investigating here and couldn’t recall the results of the investigation. Yet, there was a strong urge driving him to do this.
“Must investigate thoroughly!”
Occupied by Cheka’s consciousness, the burly man gritted his teeth to speak, and stepped towards the construction area.
As soon as he approached the construction site, someone stopped him.
A tall, thin man holding a torch looked at the burly man warily and asked, “Hey, which group are you from? Why are you here? What are you doing?”
“Me?” the burly man was taken aback, his expression suddenly changed. Cheka’s consciousness fell asleep, and Ulus’s consciousness surfaced, returning to normal.
The burly man had a bewildered look, as if awakened from a dream, glanced around in confusion, and then at the tall, thin man blocking him, muttering, “I’m from the Demolition Group 24, how did I end up here?”
The tall, thin man, hearing the burly man’s words, crossed his arms over his chest and said with irritation, “I’d like to know too.”
After a pause, he glanced at the wet patch on the burly man’s pants and chuckled, “You wouldn’t have happened to sleepwalk out, lost your way back to camp after taking a piss, and ended up here by accident, would you?”
“This…” the burly man scratched his head, “maybe.”
“Alright, alright.” The tall, thin man swiftly waved his hand, “If that’s really the case, then head back quickly, don’t stop us from working, or we’ll dock your pay and make you compensate.”
The burly man’s neck shrank involuntarily, and he muttered, “Alright then, I’ll go back to sleep.”
As he spoke, the burly man looked around, found his camp’s direction, and started walking back.
Walking and muttering in confusion, “What’s going on, how did I get here? Just now, I remember clearly taking a piss, and it seemed I saw a glowing feather. Was it all a dream? Am I really that dazed?”
“Perhaps.” In the end, the burly man said uncertainly, and whether it was an illusion or not, he seemed to hear whispering voices in his ear.
“You are the God’s people… you must sacrifice for the True God… you must investigate everything about this mine… everything…”
Amidst the whispers, the burly man didn’t think much, took steps back to the dormitory, fell onto the bed, covered himself with a blanket, and quickly fell asleep.

The next day came in the blink of an eye.
The burly man had almost forgotten the strange events of the night, put on a new pair of pants, and energetically joined the demolition work.
But for some reason, as the day ended and night fell, he found the whispering voices that appeared before had grown louder, seemingly continuously affecting him.
Then came the third day, the fourth day…
By the fifth day, the usually talkative burly man suddenly became reticent. Aside from work, he barely said a word. Moreover, in his free time, he often wandered alone in the mine, for reasons unknown.
His companions noticed the burly man’s odd behavior, but only thought he was troubled by something and weren’t too surprised. They hadn’t known him for very long, and their relationship wasn’t very close, so aside from occasional concern, they focused on quickly sending out stored wages—to prevent the burly man from asking for a loan.
Thus came the sixth day.
Day six, during the day.
Inside the Shambhala Uranium Mine.
Many “Fire Bombs” were successfully detonated, collapsing a large pile of rocks.
Another demolition operation successfully completed, the burly man and his companions got a chance to rest and walked back to camp. The rest of the miners began working in sequence, clearing hazards and attempting to transport the rocks.
An experimental iron track hundreds of meters long had been laid, and the miners quickly loaded the rocks onto a dump car on the track, pushing it down.
Watching the busy miners, the burly man suddenly spoke to a companion, “Where do you think these rocks will be transported to?”
The companion, looking strangely at the burly man, said, “Where else? Don’t let the newness of the iron rod road fool you, the rocks are still transported down to the factory at the foot of the mountain.”
“And what do they do at the factory?”
“What else could they do? They clean the bad ones, pick out the good ones, and then ship them out to sell.”
“So, the core of the mine is really that factory at the foot of the mountain?”
“I suppose so,” the companion shrugged, “after all, the Fire Bombs we use and the materials for the iron rod road are all transported from the factory.”
Finally, the companion frowned at the burly man, asking curiously, “Why are you interested in this, Ulus?”
“Ulus?” the burly man repeated his name with slight unfamiliarity, struggled to say something, but suddenly the whispering voices grew tremendously loud, causing him to shudder, lower his head in silence, and say nothing.
The companion didn’t wait for an answer and didn’t care, shrugging indifferently, and walked away.
The burly man followed woodenly, head down.
