Sieg’s tone dragged out, and with a shift in his voice, he looked at Bayer with a serious expression and said, "So, now we can discuss the division of interests, right? I hope you haven’t forgotten the agreement we had before."
"Of course not," Bayer shook his head.
"That’s good," Sieg said. "According to the agreement, the original ruling territory of Deep Blue Castle remains unchanged. Parts of Rose City, parts of Death Valley will also be incorporated into Deep Blue Castle. Besides that, the land will belong to the Black Spirit Empire you want to restore.
Of course, I will nominally obey you all, provide supplies as requested, and have my people help you sweep up the remaining Wizard Power to stabilize the newly born Black Spirit Empire. However, within Deep Blue Castle’s territory, I hold the ultimate authority, and you can’t interfere with that. This cannot change."
"Rest assured, Dean Sieg, these are things we’ve already discussed, and we’ll absolutely honor them," Bayer said. "In fact, we have a surprise for you."
"Oh, a surprise? What kind of surprise?"
"Under our agreement, the Mo’er Alliance was to be three-fifths the property of Deep Blue Castle. Our surprise is that we want to give Deep Blue Castle the remaining two-fifths of the Mo’er Alliance, including Florence."
"You would be so kind?" After hearing Bayer’s words, Sieg did not show delight, but rather suspicion.
"Ha," Bayer laughed. "Since Dean Sieg puts it that way, let me clarify. We are not being kind, actually this is our way of apologizing, a compensation for the mishap at the last Deep Blue Castle alliance meeting."
"I see," Sieg replied, nodding his head.
"Besides that, there’s one more thing, Dean Sieg, for which you should be prepared."
"Hmph, I knew it; you wouldn’t easily give such a grand gesture to me," Sieg spoke. While he said this, his suspicious look had completely vanished as he instinctively leaned his head closer to Bayer.
Bayer said, "That is..." His voice was very low, growing fainter as he spoke, and when he was halfway through, it was almost inaudible. After a slight pause, he suddenly shouted.
"That is... your death!"
Accompanying the last word, Bayer’s hand suddenly produced a bloody, exceedingly sinister dagger, and like lightning, he stabbed it toward Sieg’s chest.
Sieg was shocked, instantly activating numerous Magic Shields for defense, while his other hand was already raised, ready to counterattack.
But it was all in vain!
The blood-colored dagger in Bayer’s hand seemed to ignore all defenses, piercing through Sieg’s many Magic Shields like tearing through thin paper, and accurately stabbing into Sieg’s chest, piercing his beating heart.
Sieg’s body shook violently, his eyes bulging, angrily staring at Bayer, but unable to utter a single word.
Bayer spoke, looking at Sieg and murmuring, "Dean Sieg, don’t blame me. When you cooperated with us, you should have expected this outcome."
As he spoke, Bayer, gripping the dagger, stabbed more forcefully into Sieg’s body, ready to pierce through. But then, sensing something, his expression drastically changed, and with a kick, he sent the critically injured Sieg flying away, while he dodged swiftly to the side.
In the nick of time, just as Bayer dodged, there was a "bang," and Sieg’s entire body exploded.
Chunks of flesh fell from the sky, hitting the ground like raindrops, and then strangely, they seeped into the soil and disappeared from sight.
Beside a stone, the air twisted, and a brand-new Sieg appeared.
Squinting at Bayer, Sieg didn’t show much surprise, more so annoyance, and he said coldly, "Hmph, I knew you would strike at me. Actually, ever since the beginning of our cooperation, I knew you would make a move, so I’ve always been guarding against you, having made ample preparations! With my preparations, the chance of you killing me and monopolizing all the benefits is simply impossible."
"Is that so?" Bayer looked at Sieg, slightly startled at first, then quickly recovering, shaking his head as he spoke, "Useless, Dean Sieg. You knew we would attack you, and we also anticipated this possibility. So, no matter what, the outcome will not change. Regardless of any surprises, we will achieve our goals. This is who we are."
"Are you sure?" Sieg sneered, "By the way, you don’t think that my preparations are just to prevent my own death, do you? Let me tell you, the precautions I’ve taken are more than you can imagine! You will definitely regret it! Now, let me show you!"
As he finished speaking, Sieg clenched his fist. A loud "bang" emanated from within his fist, activating something, and a wave of special mana rapidly spread out.
Immediately thousands of meters away, several dozen Deep Blue Castle Wizards appeared, each with an imposing aura, swiftly flying toward the hill.
Sieg looked at Bayer and said coldly, "See that? I haven’t handed over all my power to you. I kept a portion for myself, the most elite part. Completely loyal to me, and fatal to you."
Bayer watched the approaching Deep Blue Castle Wizards for a moment, then turned to Sieg with a light laugh, "Dean Sieg, we could be considered old friends at this point. However, now I can only say that you are still too naive, naive like a child."
"Hmm?" Sieg was puzzled.
Bayer ignored Sieg, merely speaking to the air beside him, "Mr. Casol, if you would."
Following Bayer’s words, there was no response.
Sieg curled his lips, "Playing ghost tricks!"
No sooner had he spoken than an abrupt change occurred, and Sieg’s expression suddenly altered.
Within the ranks of the Deep Blue Castle Wizards flying over, a thick cloud of blood mist suddenly exploded, rapidly expanding, and in the blink of an eye, it enveloped everyone.
Once everyone was covered, the blood mist seemed to come to life, undulating continuously. Inside, weird cries echoed, reminiscent of ancient predators, causing a shudder to those who heard them. Finally, when the blood mist let out a sound like a dragon’s roar, the echo suppressed all resistance within, shaking the very ground.
After a while, the blood mist gradually shrank, and one by one, desiccated corpses "plop plop" fell out from within it. Looking over, one could see each body was shriveled, skin and flesh tightly wrapping bones, resembling skeletons.
Upon the complete retraction of the blood mist, Casol’s figure became visible.
As if he had gained indescribable benefits within the blood mist, Casol’s eyes showed a thick laughter, the facial skin that Muse had torn off seemed somewhat restored, no longer looking as terrifying.
Casol gently belched, a smile on his face as he slowly walked up the hill, stood next to Bayer, and exclaimed, "Not bad, quite nutritious, a satisfactory supplement indeed. Of course, a bit lower in rank, as humans, their bloodlines are not akin to that of Strange Species. But it doesn’t matter, after all, Strange Species, valuable Demonized Creatures and the like are hard to come by."
"You..." Sieg glared at Casol, wanting to say something, but his mouth opened and closed several times, unable to speak.
Casol’s words were rather eerie and frightening.
As food? Considering humans as food material? And saying they’re not as good as some Strange Species or Demonized Creatures?
