Violet POV:-
‘How dare he!? I am shy!? Like hell! Who the hell is he to make assumptions about me and spread them over the damn media?’
“Is this some sick joke?” I asked Mum who made an apologetic face.
“Apparently not.” She sighed.
I am so infuriated right now. I just want to punch that piece of shit who thinks he can own me like a possession but I won’t let it.
“What does he think of himself? Molding me into what he wants? Who is he to say this?” I growled, losing my forbearance with this insane man.
“Damn lunatic.” I will do whatever I can to show him hell, for forcing me into his life.
He thinks he can twist reality as if it's clay the way he wants. Telling nothing but lies.
“How dare he- Wait a minute, outside a bakery... Bakery..” I paused when my heart rate dropped in horror.
“Violet..?” Mama called, worried about my perturbation.
“The guy I met on your birthday… remember I told you about him… The guy I bumped into and my cake fell.” I trailed off, losing my breath out of tension.
“It was him!?” She whisper-yelled.
“A-Apparently.” I gulped with a nod, holding my chest.
Oh god, How can fate be so cruel? I was extremely rude with him, how could he feel attracted to me in a few seconds?
“It has to be a lie. A moment of anger and coincidence cannot decide my future like this.” I shook my head, pulling my hair out of frustration with quivering lips.
“Oh, Violet.” Mum whispered, hugging me but I pulled away as my vagueness was replaced by fury.
In that moment, no one could like me, I had a horrible day, I spouted mindless stuff and yet. YET! He finds me attractive enough to be his wife.
“He.. is a hysterical bastard.” I whispered, curling my hands in a fist.
“It’s going to be fine, please don’t be like him.” She whispered.
“Yeah, fine. Totally fine.” I scoffed, curling my hands in a fist, desperately wanting to hit something.
“What?” Mum asked, arching a brow but closed her mouth when she saw the scowl lingering over my face. I gritted my teeth.
“Love-” She tried to say but I got up from my seat.
“Leave it, Mum. I don’t wanna spoil my mood more.” I growled, refraining myself from breaking the LED.
Not just that my brother was so happy when he heard that I am getting married. As for me I am anything but happy about it.
I don't know what to do anymore and this fact is making me infuriated.
“Dammit!”
Fuming with rage, I went to my room and locked myself, not wanting to get out and face this tribulation anymore which is affecting me more than I could bear.
Two days later, I was laying on my bed because of the news of me getting married- No, the news of Raymond Smith getting married spread around the world like a rapid fire.
Thank goodness no one knew about me and he didn't even tell anyone as well. But still people who knew, they started nagging me.
How am I supposed to tell them about the person even though I don't know?
“Urgh!”
My thoughts were interrupted as my Mum entered the room.
"Honey..." She began to say.
"Yes, Mum?" I said sitting up.
"His sister is dying to meet you. They are coming over for dinner tonight..." She told me sadly and I felt burning.
How they are making bonds which cannot be mended, doing formalities as if it is worth anything in the first place.
"What? Why is he doing this? What is he trying to prove huh? Oh look, this is damn normal, showing your shameless face after forcing a girl?" I asked, snickering.
The thought alone made me revolt, hoping that she would change her statement but no.
“Do you have better options?” She asked sadly to which I scoffed.
“Let’s hope she is not like her Brother.” She sighed.
“She must be. They all have the same tainted blood. She’d definitely be a rich spoiled brat of her psycho Brother.” I growled, slamming my hand down.
"We can’t do anything, Dear...just.. be ready.." She sighed, forming her lips in a thin line in disappointment, knowing we don’t have a way out of it.
"I won't," I declared, rising from my seat, rolling my eyes off.
Determined to not give into his commands but what will I gain by doing this in the first place? Can it alter anything?
“Nothing in this world could change my resentment for him. Did he ask anything from me? Do I want this marriage? Do I want to give us a chance?” I asked furiously.
“Heck, Mum, He didn’t even give me time to get to know him. If for once, I think to work it out, it would be if he gives me some space and time to get to know each other.” I sighed, losing my strength to make out of his pointless things.
“I could have pretended it to be an arranged marriage and might. Just might give him a chance but now. I would never, he is an insensible, selfish guy.” I hissed, rolling my eyes off.
Right now marriage is not the problem but the person whom I am getting married to is.
If it was a gallant and charming guy, who knows how to respect my wishes, then why not? But, it was far from it…
She sighed and started again, "Listen. His sister doesn't know about him forcing you to marry him, she knows nothing,”
“That is none of my concern.” I muttered.
“She is just as ignorant as our Kenneth, can you stop him from indulging in this wedding? He will enjoy your wedding the most…” She asked softly, I wanted to argue but paused.
“Look at their ages, she is a grown adult who should stop her brother.” I muttered again, ignoring her advice.
“Both of them believe that media story. His sister is not different."
"So?" I don't know where this is going. I don’t care whether his sister knows or not. She must be aware of his beastly nature.
"So .. he requested you to act as a couple just for today.."
My eyes widened for a bare second and I gave her the most obvious reply to his absurd request.
"No way in hell and you know it. I would never pretend to share fake felicity with him." I growled, curling my hands in a fist, losing my patience.
"I told him that you won't. So don't worry about it." She smirked, teasing me just to see my reaction.
“It was a terrible prank, Mum.” I frowned.
“Just wanted to see my Violet who fears nothing.” She smiled, patting my head.
I smiled at my mother. She knows me. My mother always does this, telling me after doing things.
"Oh, Mum..." I chuckled, shaking my head.
“Just seeing how it is affecting you is hurting me but I hope you stay strong, Love.” She smiled and left and I left in pondering about him unwillingly.
“He is even deceiving her sister. Nothing but a trivial man.” Snarling, I lost myself in abysmal thoughts as well.
Later at dinner time, I was watching TV with Kenneth, totally forgetting about a certain pair of guests we were about to attend and then Mum called us.
“Kids!”
Me and Kenneth looked back and saw Raymond with his sister. I rested my elbow on the head rest of the couch, arching a brow at them.
Scanning his sister from top to bottom, “Nice piece you got there.”
I jeered and the disliking was crystal-clear on his face.
‘What do you expect when you treat others as objects’
“Violet.” He breathed out my name as calmly as possible and I resent how my name rolls on his lips.
Raymond was glaring at me. His eyes were sending daggers towards me, knowing all too well I went against his orders- why would I anyways?
“What?” Smirking, I contemplated his form and raised from my seat.
Both me and Kenneth stood up and Kenneth greeted Raymond politely and I could mentally witness his display of wrath indirectly telling me-
