The wind howled like an animal as Arjun's mech dug its heels into the shifting sand. The Green Guardians formed a wedge formation, shield domes overlapping, glowing bright jade under the darkened skies. Magic and static crackled across the battlefield as ocean waves surged unnaturally inland, crashing against the mechs’ feet like claws of a furious god.
The Ravager of Currents towered beyond the bay—its body a mass of void-touched coral and abyssal bone. Tendrils of magic coiled in the air like serpents of vapor, and its voice echoed across both mind and metal.
Bend or break. There is no standing tide.
Arjun’s voice cut clean through the command channel. “Shields reinforced. Guardians, stand your ground.”
As the beast’s first magical barrage slammed down—an arcing bolt of obsidian lightning—the Guardians’ domes flared, holding firm. But Arjun could feel the force beneath it. This wasn’t just magic. It was ancient will, pressing down like the deep sea.
“Briggs,” he called over the comms, “Status?”
POV 2: Captain Samuel Briggs – Grey Eagles, Flanking Formation
“We’re bleeding, but not broken,” Briggs said, his voice grim. Of the original Grey Eagles, two units had gone dark. Their mechs hadn’t just been destroyed—they were erased, as if devoured from reality.
Still cloaked, his remaining Eagles had flanked the Ravager’s left side, plasma lances warming up.
“Permission to fire synchronously with the Red Archers.”
Colonel Zhao Wei came online. “Granted. Sniper locks acquired. Fire on my mark…”
Briggs’ hands flew over the controls. His mech rose out of cloak, the twin plasma lances unleashing crackling beams. At the same instant, the Red Archers released a barrage of radar-guided missiles from hidden cliffside platforms.
The barrage struck the Ravager’s left flank.
For a moment, it reeled, one of its tentacles severed and evaporating into vapor. The battlefield held its breath.
The cry shattered two low-flying drones mid-air and sent a wave of psychic backlash through the mech pilots. Briggs clenched his jaw, blood trickling from his nose.
“Didn’t like that, did you,” he muttered. “Round two loading.”
POV 3: Mary – INS Vikrant, Inner Chamber
Mary floated inches off the steel floor, suspended in a bubble of psychic containment and magic wards. Her skin shimmered faintly, and her eyes were silver—not Elven silver, but deep-ocean moonlight, filled with something... other.
Dr. Patel and Dyug stood outside the containment ring, watching her intently.
“She’s changing again,” Patel murmured.
Dyug’s lips were dry. “She’s synchronizing. The Ravager… it’s reaching into her.”
Mary opened her eyes. “No… I am reaching into it.”
Her hands spread, and through the psychic link, her mind plunged into the ocean’s abyss—into the mind of the Ravager of Currents.
She saw fragments: temples swallowed by tectonic rifts, Elven fleets from forgotten ages torn apart mid-sea, Luna’s sigil burned into the bones of ancient serpent gods.
The Ravager was not a beast.
It was a kingdom. A lost god of current and memory, sealed long ago beneath a temple not by force—but by bargain.
And now it had been disturbed.
Mary whispered, “It wants its crown.”
POV 4: Vaelin Thorne – Ruined Watchtower, Eastern Cape
Vaelin watched the oceans boil from atop the broken tower, the air heavy with old magics. With a flick of her fingers, she activated the Conclave Sigil—an ancient Elven device made to call all trusted Houses for dire negotiations.
The signal it now sent out would reach Elves, Humans, Magi, even Djinn enclaves—those once deemed enemies or exiles. All would feel it: a summoning flame under their skin.
Beside her, the shadow known only as Ghost adjusted his blade. “You’re burning old bridges.”
Vaelin nodded. “Because I saw what lies beneath those waves. We need an armada of the willing.”
Vaelin’s eyes gleamed. “Especially them.”
POV 5: Admiral Henry Lancaster – CIC, USS George Washington
“Status of the Red Archers?” Lancaster asked.
“Colonel Zhao reports six units down, but the last strike pushed the Ravager into temporary retreat,” the operations officer replied.
“Temporary,” Lancaster echoed. “Not good enough.”
He pressed a key, bringing up satellite feeds.
“The temple. It’s reactivating.”
The ancient structure beneath the Rift Zone—covered in molten silver runes—had begun to rotate. Massive rings spun around the core, opening a gate-like structure pointing skyward.
Dyana’s voice crackled through the secure channel. “Admiral, this is a planetary anchor. If it fully opens, the Ravager might call others.”
“Other abyssal gods,” she said grimly.
Lancaster didn’t hesitate. “All mechs: prepare for full-armament strike. Petrov, your Titans are up.”
POV 6: Major Viktor Petrov – Blue Titans
The Blue Titans strode forward like ancient war-golems, Gatling guns spinning, railguns warming. Their formation was a wall of walking thunder, and when Petrov gave the order, they opened fire.
Rounds imbued with anti-magic matrixes hammered the Ravager’s outer shell. For every tentacle it regrew, the Titans took another shot. Ice lances exploded against their hulls, and several Titans were breached—but they kept firing.
Petrov’s voice growled in the channel. “We are the mountain. Break yourself upon us.”
A final railgun shot struck the silver runes on the temple, and the activation halted—briefly.
POV 7: Elven High Command – Inner Sanctum, Forestia
Queen Elara watched through a moon-lit scrying pool, her face pale.
“What have they awakened?” one of her generals asked.
“A relic older than even our gods,” she whispered. “One Luna herself sealed away before Elvenkind crossed the stars.”
“Should we intervene?”
She clenched her jaw. “No. We already have.”
She gestured—and from the pool emerged an image of Mary, floating within her containment chamber.
“She is the key. Luna made her so.”

Mary stood in the dream-sea of the Ravager’s consciousness. Its true body loomed—lightless, vast, and ancient.
Why do you resist? it asked.
“Because you rule the sea by fear,” Mary said. “I’ll rule by unity.”
You are nothing but flesh and fracture.
“No,” she whispered, and her body ignited in silver-blue light. “I am more.”
Her presence pushed the Ravager back. Through the psychic link, her will surged—filling the minds of the mechs, of Arjun, Briggs, Zhao, Petrov, even Lancaster.
All across the coastline, the mechs moved in unison, guided by Mary’s link. Shields harmonized. Railguns targeted weak points exposed by Red Archer missiles. Titans pummeled vulnerable limbs while Eagles stabbed through them.
The Ravager screamed again.
POV 9: Dyana – Sky-Crown
Dyana’s heart raced as she watched the temple’s energy begin to collapse.
“Mary’s forcing a dissonance,” she said in awe.
The synchronization between the temple and the Ravager was failing.
Dyana slammed her palm against the command sigil. “All forces, prepare sealing maneuver! We can’t kill it—but we can bury it again!”
POV 10: Final Joint Maneuver – Tanzanian Bay
As the Ravager staggered back toward the Rift, the mechs converged.
Green Guardian shields folded into an energy prism.
Red Archer missiles locked onto the exposed temple mechanism.
Grey Eagles dove from the clouds, cloaked until the final strike.
And Blue Titans stood firm, unleashing their railguns in a deafening final salvo.
The combined force hit.
The temple exploded inward—rings collapsing, dragging the Ravager’s writhing mass back into the depths. The earth quaked. The sea surged.
POV 11: Aftermath – INS Vikrant Medical Bay
Mary awoke to find Asha sitting beside her, her armor scratched and worn.
“Is it over?” Mary whispered.
“For now,” Asha said. “But the world’s changed.”
Mary nodded. “Then we’ll change with it.”
