Blaze pov.
We were near palace gates. I lift my hand for everyone to stop, so I can take in our surroundings. "Wait! We need to take down that five warriors! Quietly! "
"I'm on it! They won't expect to see me! Everyone thinks that their prince is dead! I can create a distraction long enough for you to come unnoticed. "
"That's a good idea, Kano! "
He then heads to the gates. I could see the surprised warriors, trying to figure out how is it possible for their prince to be alive.
I get close to them. Careful not to make any sound. I snap the neck of the first warrior then punch another in the chin, sending him on the floor, unconscious. Kano froze two in their place and sent an arrow in the fifth one chest when he tried to run away.
I couldn't use my element. Not yet! Flames will attract unnecessary attention.
I took Titus, Kano and another twenty of my best warriors with me. The rest of my army was hiding in the forest, waiting for my signal.
Farys and Aaron were on their way with their warriors as well. The final battle will be today.
"Titus and Kano take eight warriors each! I'll take the other four! We need to split! If you find Evolet, take her out of here! Engage only if necessary. Titus, you go to the left and Kano to the right. I'll go to the front door. "
They nodded and went on their way.
One of the warriors that were with me, opened the door, then fell. The other three were also dead. I looked around but I couldn't see anyone.
A burst of evil laughter made me turn my head back to the palace door.
"Finally! I've been waiting for you for so long, King Blaze Cyrus, son of Uri and Cyra Cyrus!"
"Aalto! You son of a bitch!Where's Evolet? "
"Patience now, boy! Or I will kill you right here!"
"Well, what do you wait for? "
"Well ..you see. I thought you'll like to see how I'll make your girl mine! Will be so fun for me to see your stupid face when I'll take her before your eyes! Do you usually cry, King Blaze?"A huge grin spreading on his face.
I threw big flames at him! But he moved his hand and there was only smoke left.
"You can't defeat me! You're so weak! So pathetic! Blood of War God is running through my veins! None of you can kill me!"
Suddenly I couldn't breathe! My legs gave up and I fell on the floor. My vision blurred and I grab my neck instinctively, trying to take in some air. Then I passed out.
Evolet pov
Zeru pushed me in a dark room."Go wash! You're stinking! The King will come for you soon!"
"Fuck you and your king, you traitor! I will kill you with my bare hand when I get out of here! "I spat at him.
He slapped my face, then burst into laughter! "You spoiled brat! I always wanted to do that! Maybe I can have some fun with you before the King comes! "
He came closer, controlling the air around so I couldn't breathe properly. I allowed him to come close enough so I can make my move.
"Of course you can, Zeru! You're so hot! I've noticed you a long time ago. But those stupid parents of mine were always on my tail. Then my Alter came in...I never wanted one! I want a man like you! One who can make his own decisions. "
"Smart girl!"He said smirking and grabbed my ass.
I clenched my teeth trying to hide the disgust I felt from his actions. Then I put my hands on his chest focusing on my elements.
"Aaahhh!" came out from his bloodied mouth. A huge hole was now in his chest. He was dead. I killed him. And I have no remorse.
I get out of the room as quiet as I can. I didn't want to be caught again. I head to the stairs, but someone grabbed me from behind covering my mouth so I won't scream.
"Evolet shh! It's me!" he said and released me.
I jump in his arms." Oren, thank God! You're ok! You both are! What are you doing here?" I asked looking at Amaya.
"We couldn't just go! I'm still your Guardian, you know? "
I nod smiling, not wanting to waste more time! I need to find Aalto and kill him once and for all.
"Let's go! I think he's downstairs! "
Taking step by step, we head down the stairs, just to freeze in my tracks when I heard Aalto saying he's a War God descended.
"Blaze!!" I yelled running to him.
"Well, well, well. What do we have here? A princess that escaped from my room and a healer that didn't know who her father is. Oh..and an insignificant earth elemental. "
Oren pushed Amaya behind him. "I'll kill you! You murderer! "
"What makes you think you can? But, any way I'll like to see you try!"Aalto laughed and froze Oren's legs."Oh! But you can't! "he added still laughing.
I could feel Blaze pulse, but he was unconscious. "What have you done to him? You monster!"
"Nothing! Just let him rest a bit! This night will be so long and unforgettable for all of us!"
"Aaaa!"Amaya yelled running towards Aalto! Hundreds of sharp ice pieces around her!
"Hmm!So brave! Just like your mother! I had so much fun killing her!"
Amaya's eyes widened for a second, but she didn't stop. She sent all the ice pieces to Aalto and jumped trying to hit him with her leg.
In a blink of an eye, Aalto was in front of her, holding her by her neck! All the ice was melting around them! She was struggling to breathe. Her face red and her feet kicking in the air.
"Amaya! Noo!"Oren yelled.
Blaze shifted and I knew he will wake up soon. So I let go of him and jumped on my feet. I needed to help Amaya now!
I grabbed Aalto from behind and pressed my palms on his chest, trying to do what I've done earlier with Zeru. But it didn't work.
He was too strong. He let go of Amaya who fell on the floor coughing violently and turned around. His eyes were now glowing red.
I sent flames, ice arrow and even tried to choke him, blocking all the air around him. But he smirked at me."Is this all you've got?!" he asked laughing.
I took a step back, feeling a bit afraid. But I knew deep inside of me I needed to do something right now. Before it was too late.
Aalto starts moving towards me. And I waited. I didn't move. I try to connect with my power. I focused on all the good things that happened in the past few months. And I feel it. It was there, trying to reach me.
When I was about to let it go, Aalto was pushed back slamming his head on the wall behind him. Flames surrounding him.
I turn around to see a very angry Blaze. Blue flames covering his forearms.
"Stay away from her! Stay away from what is mine!"
