DxD: I Steal Luck Chapter 91

"You... what did you do?!" Struggling to get up from the ground, Bete glared at Blake, his voice filled with suspicion and rage. In that split second, he had been the attacker, yet his assault had been effortlessly dodged, and he was sent flying by a single kick. The most baffling part was that he hadn't even seen Blake move or strike at all. It was as if he had teleported. It wasn't just Bete—Ais, Tiona, and Tione, who were watching from behind, also couldn't follow Blake's movements. "Blake... this person..." Only the Level 6 adventurers, Finn, Riveria, and Gareth, managed to catch a glimpse of what Blake had done, but even they barely saw more than a blur, their eyes struggling to keep up. Finn slightly turned to look at Riveria, as if seeking her opinion. "Hmm, he's terrifyingly fast. Bete's about to lose." After a brief silence, Riveria turned her shocked gaze back to Blake. This level of strength was far more astonishing than the rumors had suggested. They couldn't comprehend how Blake had managed such a feat. It wasn't unusual for a Level 1 adventurer to defeat a Level 2 opponent through superior tactics, but for someone at Level 1 to move faster than even Level 6 adventurers was utterly beyond their understanding. It shattered the very logic of the adventurer hierarchy. Seeing Blake still looking as relaxed as ever, Bete grew even more enraged. Although this brief exchange had made him realize that Blake was far stronger than he had imagined, being so easily overpowered in front of Ais filled him with intense frustration. His pride wouldn't allow it. "Blake, right? This time, I'm going all out. Don't blame me if you end up dead!" After shouting these words, Bete suddenly pulled out a dagger-like weapon from his leg armor, radiating with magical energy. "Bete's actually planning to use a magic sword..." Seeing this, Finn furrowed his brow, displeased. This wasn't supposed to be a real battle, after all. "Don't worry. Blake will be fine." Just as Finn was about to step in and stop the fight, Ais suddenly spoke, her golden eyes shimmering with certainty. Having trained with Blake for a week, Ais was confident in his abilities. This level of attack was nothing to worry about. Everyone was stunned and looked at Ais in surprise before turning their gazes back to the silver-haired boy, who remained unreadable. "This is my magic, Hati. It absorbs magic and converts the power of the magic sword into enhanced flame attributes, which in turn strengthen my body." As if realizing that using a magic sword might be seen as unfair, Bete's angered expression turned serious as he explained his magic. However, he didn't mention its final effect—it could also absorb damage. "Good magic. Let's settle this with one final strike." Blake gave Bete a surprised glance before responding with a light chuckle. He held no grudge against Bete, so he wouldn't treat him as an enemy. Of course, had Bete carried the intent to kill earlier, Blake wouldn't have shown him such courtesy. Without further words, Bete pushed off the ground and dashed toward Blake, his speed and power increasing dramatically as he activated one of his skills—Double Wolf Chase. In the blink of an eye, the hundred-meter distance was closed, and Bete's twin blades, now infused with the magic sword's flames, cut through the air in two arcs of yellow-red light, forming crescent-shaped slashes aimed at Blake. Facing this powerful attack, Blake didn't choose to dodge as he had before. This time, he decided to meet it head-on. With a flicker of his crystal-blue eyes, his aura suddenly sharpened, like a drawn sword, and dozens of sword ki materialized around him. Not only that, but in the next moment, these sword ki seemed to be empowered by the defensive properties of his soul, turning radiant as they fused together to form a massive sword that collided head-on with Bete's flaming twin blades. The clash lasted only an instant before Bete, wielding his fire-infused blades, was blasted away, crashing into the wall and leaving a small indentation in the shape of his body. The massive, gleaming sword, meanwhile, grazed Bete's hair and embedded itself in the crystal wall just above his head, disappearing into the stone. Cough, cough... so strong...! Looking at Blake, who remained calm and composed, his stance completely unshaken, Bete's pupils widened in shock as he muttered to himself. He was a firm believer in strength. He despised the weak, but he would never deny the strength of another once he had witnessed it firsthand. The fusion of One Sword to Rule All combined with Sword Spirit Magic had turned out to be an incredible combination. Although its attack range was relatively small, its power was immense. Looking at the deep sword mark above Bete's head, Blake pondered. He had spontaneously decided to merge the dozens of sword ki from his Myriad Swords, and it had worked. The truth was, he hadn't even used his Holy Sword—he had merely converted his own energy into sword ki, which was actually quite weak on its own. A single sword ki wouldn't even be able to kill a Minotaur. However, by fusing several sword ki into a giant sword, it reached a level strong enough to overwhelm a Level 5 adventurer. And once Sword Spirit Magic was added, the attack's strength reached the level of a true Level 6 adventurer, easily overpowering a fully-powered Bete. Of course, there were clear weaknesses: the attack range was reduced, and its speed was slower. Even Bete, at Level 5, could have dodged it under normal circumstances. The reason he hadn't was that he had chosen to rely on the magic sword and faced Blake head-on. If he had opted to dodge, he would have had plenty of chances to see the attack's trajectory and avoid it. 🍊 Boost This Fanfic! 🍊 Every 500 Power Stones gets 2 bonus Chapters! 🚀 Want faster updates?
