Fuck, I even fail at cussing him.
Oh, how badly, I wanted to snap his neck like a twig and then feast on his blood. I was ready to turn into a cannibal today and why won’t I? He snatched every person who was supposed to be mine. From Diana to Jasmine, he’s taking everyone whom I had developed feelings for. But to my dismay, I can’t do anything but simply watch him throwing shades at me.
It’s my fault. It’s all my fault. Why the hell did I let Jasmine go? I was blinded by my vengeance that I didn’t even realize when she became indispensable to me. At least she was by my side with her own will. But no, my madness for Diana blinded me to even glance at her way. I pushed her away from me and today when I want her, she hates me to even come near me.
Sighing, I looked at my wife only to see her shedding tears for her new lover. The scene twisted the knife in my already wounded heart.
What’s so good about him? Can’t she see my efforts? I know I did a mistake but I am ready to make it up to her. My eyes then fell on that demon who was draped on that fucker’s shoulder pathetically.
I let out a low-key chuckle. I hope he dies. I should have stabbed him in his heart straightaway.
But would that even make Jasmine love me?
I myself know the answer to this question. No.
A cold sigh left my lips and I dropped my gaze to the floor. Everything is over now. I bet that my death wouldn’t even thaw her heart.
A sad chuckle escaped my mouth. Maybe that’s my punishment for hurting an innocent.
Her sobs grabbed my attention. Lifting my head, I found Jasmine who wiped the blood that was trickling down his mouth with her bare hands.
Yeah, keep doing that. Your departure wouldn’t kill me but your actions would definitely force me to shove a dagger down my throat.
Annoyed, I averted my eyes when suddenly they fell on George who was watching Rose with a heartbroken expression. My heart went to my baby brother, maybe we were born to be broken by love.
I kept staring at him ruefully when suddenly I noticed something. His one hand was on the ground supporting his body while his other was behind his back. If I remember he wasn’t stabbed in his back.
Frowning, I shifted aside to take a better look. A scintillating ray emerged from his back and struck straight in my eyes, dazzling me. I immediately closed my eyes and looked away.
What the hell was that?
Once my vision got cleared, I again focused my attention on George’s hand which was still pinned behind his back. A silver handle peeked from his back as he swirled that mysterious object in his hand.
Wait, is that a dagger?
Shocked, I looked at it keenly and indeed it was a dagger. But that’s-
It is Kiora’s.
He had hidden in the whole time.
Still, in disbelief, I looked at George who quietly twirled the dagger between his fingers while his eyes were pinned on Rose.
So, he attacked Calix with his bayonet and not with Kiora’s. That’s why Diana was able to cure him.
George had kept his expressions neutral but the red streaks covering his eyes were enough for one to understand what he was up to.
The fire of revenge was still in his heart.
Good then.
My lips twisted in a smirk. If he kills Zachary then my path will be clear. Without him, no one would be able to leave Heaven. And then I will be able to live my life happily with Jasmine with no worries.
That thought brought back my long-lost happiness. I looked at George who was silently preparing himself for the attack.
I knew he wouldn’t let me down.
Anxiously, I waited for him to make a move and in the meantime grabbed my sword. Once, he kills Zachary, I would slaughter Zagan and Calix.
With the support of his elbow, George slowly dragged himself away from Christian and the others. He bit his lips to control his whimpers and once he was away at a foot distance from him, he grabbed the bayonet tightly and then looked at Jasmine.
‘Wait, what is he doing?’
George was glaring at Jasmine who was still engrossed in curing Zagan. My brows instantly puckered in confusion.
What the hell is he doing? Why is he wasting time?
I waited and waited but George did nothing and continued shooting daggers at Jasmine.
Irritation grew on me. I tried to grab his attention by waving my hand but he was lost in his rage.
“We’ll take our leave then.”
Zachary’s deep voice pulled me back to reality.
Shit.
Panic coursed through me as I looked at Christian who nodded in approval. I quickly jumped to my feet and watched Zachary leave with his so-called family.
‘Damn, George.’
Cursing lowly, I looked at George who also managed to stand on his wobbling legs, his hands gripping the knife tightly.
“Attack now, what you’re waiting for?”
Shooting him a glare, I spoke with clenched teeth and sauntered in his direction only to stop dead in my tracks.
“No, what is he doing?”
My heart dropped at the pit of my stomach when George smiled manically and abruptly lunged at Jasmine.
Fuck, he was targeting the whole time.
“NO JASMINE!!!”
I screamed at the top of my lungs and ran to George who was startled by my ear-splitting scream. But my eyes were on the dagger. Lunging on him, I grabbed it from my hands when suddenly George pushed me hard.
Stumbling, I almost fell to the ground but fortunately landed on something hard. Relief washed through me but a sound of piercing flesh followed by a loud gasp freeze me on spot.
A scorching liquid scalded my skin. Terrified out of my wits, I looked down only to see my hands covered in blood.
“N-No”
All the air got sucked out of my lungs. With widened unbelieving eyes, I looked up only to meet with a broad muscular back.
“W-What?”
Panicking, I looked up only to meet with the shocking eyes of Jasmine.
Wait, if she is alive then whom did I-
My eyes turned to the size of saucers. Horror-stricken, I pulled the dagger back and stumbled back in shock.
“ZACHARY!!!”
Diana yelled at the top of her lungs and ran to Zachary who was still frozen on spot. But soon his body convulsed and he dropped to the floor with a loud thud.
“NO!!!”
“ZAC!!”
“BROTHER!!”
Calix, Rose, and Jasmine also ran toward me before stopping near Zachary who was panting hard. Their eyes then snapped in my direction and shot me a glare.
B-But I didn’t do anything.
Rising to his height, Calix wasted no time and pounced on me. Without giving me time to explain, he straightaway threw a punch breaking my jaw. The force made me see stars but jerked me back to reality by grabbing my collars and shaking me violently.
“YOU BASTARD!! HOW DARE YOU??” He sneered at my face. I vigorously shook my head in denial.
“N-No, I swear. I didn’t do anything. It was George who was-”
But before I could explain to him, a deep voice cut me in between.
“What are you saying, brother? You only told me to give you the dagger so that you can kill Zachary?”
WHAT??
With the speed of lightning, I turned my head towards George who was looking at me coldly.
I opened my mouth to retort but the words died in my mouth when I found him smirking.
That means he wasn’t even trying to hurt Jasmine in the first place.
The realization struck me like a lightning bolt.
I was tricked by my own brother.
