Blake Leaf watched from the side, his expression turning gloomier.
A single bag like that, even if he worked, would require saving a whole year’s salary, cutting back on food and other expenses, to afford it.
Clearly, he and Lawrence are not in the same world.
Blake quietly took a step back, moved aside, and struck up a conversation with another idle shop assistant.
He chose a relatively young shop assistant, whose eyes weren’t very sharp and wasn’t yet able to gauge from someone’s attire if they were wealthy.
Thus, when Blake spoke to her with a friendly demeanor, she soon began talking without reservation.
"...Are you asking how long our store has been here?" The shop assistant thought for a moment, pulled out her phone to check some information, and said, "Our store was one of the first to enter City C; we just celebrated our 20th anniversary last year."

Blake sighed and turned to look at the pedestrians outside, each stylish and polished, where even casual street photography resembles models walking the runway.
The entire beauty of City C seems concentrated on this street.
He glanced up at the famous double C logo of Chanel, unable to associate it with the rustic address found in the Y City residence record.
Was Lawrence wrong in her calculations, or was he overthinking?
Or perhaps, the Su family had nothing to do with him after all.
He had merely indulged in a fleeting daydream.
In that instant, Blake’s eyes reddened.
From intense hope to deep disappointment, just a day’s and night’s difference.
This kind of emotional roller-coaster can strike a person hard.
Blake’s hands clenched tightly into fists in his pockets, yearning to pound on the door frame beside him.
Just then, the little one’s voice rang in his ear again, "Uncle, what’s wrong?"
Blake lowered his head to see the little one looking up at him.
Standing so close, his head tilted further and further back, his round little body looking as if it might topple over backward...
Blake instinctively bent down to support him, saying softly, "I’m fine, be careful walking."
Lawrence arrived, carrying the newly purchased bag, feeling very cheerful.
Seeing the little one familiar with Blake once again, she chuckled and said, "Your name is Asui, right? Where is your Uncle Zee?"
The little one mischievously smiled at her without answering, instead waving at her, "Big sister, you look great with that bag!"
Lawrence raised an eyebrow proudly, "It’s because Asui has good taste, helping me pick a nice bag."
The young man on the phone looked over sharply.

Lawrence softly asked Blake, "What should we do now? Are you still looking for clues?"
"Tomorrow I want to go to the street office here to inquire. Over twenty years ago, this address clearly belonged to my mother’s relocation, how did it become a store?"
Blake knew that even if he went to inquire at the street office, he might end up with no leads.
By Friday, he would hold onto his last straw.
And now, he was already conducting his mourning ceremony.
He began to feel that he might never uncover the truth about his own origins.
Lawrence stood silently beside him, without rushing him.
Suddenly, the young man approached holding the little one and said casually, "It’s almost dark outside, even if the street office had people, they’d have already left for the day."

Blake patiently explained, "Because this was a residential area before."
The little one said with a childish voice, "I know, residential areas are for people to live in. If you sell residential areas, you can build commercial areas... My mom and her friends often have meetings and vote on such things... It’s called, government planning!"
Both were taken aback.
Right, how hadn’t they thought of it?!
The two exchanged glances, starting to feel a sense of excitement.
"...Could it be that this was once a residential area, and later... demolished?!" Lawrence excitedly lowered her voice, "If true, Blake, you might be rich!"
"Not necessarily." Blake covered his thumping heart, whispering, "...For my mom, it was just an address; it doesn’t prove this land belonged to my parents."
