He wasn’t cold as ice either. Whoever looked at him, he would respond with a faint smile.
His eyes seemed both affectionate and indifferent, that kind of suave demeanor, like an unrivaled gentleman from a noble family.
Lawrence Winters frowned deeply as he watched.
Where on earth did he pick up these playboy manners?
Lawrence grumbled in his heart, slightly turning his body, attempting to slip past Kenneth Osborne to get to the door.
Yet Kenneth unexpectedly stretched his arm out in front of her.
Lawrence instinctively grabbed his arm, trying to push it away.
Kenneth quickly moved backward with ease, taking the little force she used to push him away.
Lawrence, having no other choice, was almost hanging onto his arm as he led her out of the dormitory.
Kenneth turned back to close their dormitory door, and said calmly, "Do you just like grabbing people’s arms? If others don’t let you grab theirs, you’ll only grab mine. — I must owe you from a past life, huh?"
She didn’t mean to grab his arm!
She clearly intended to push his arm!
I never thought you were this kind of Kenneth Osborne!
Lawrence hurriedly let go, but Kenneth raised his hand and held her arm, half dragging and half pulling her towards the stairs.
The girls in the dormitory building noticed they seemed to be quarreling, and crazily ran out to watch the commotion.
Now and then, someone sneakily passed them by with a pile of books in their arms.
When they reached the corner from the third to the second floor, Lawrence couldn’t hold back anymore and said to a girl holding books, "I haven’t even reached the second floor yet, and this is already your third trip upstairs! Are you showing off your stamina?!"
The girl, embarrassed, covered her face with the books and quickly went upstairs.
Kenneth looked back at her, seeing her frown at the girl’s departing back, and said indifferently, "People can go up the stairs as many times as they want; it’s not your house, don’t be so bossy."
As he spoke, he stealthily extended his arm again in an L-shape, saying, "Watch the stairs when you’re going down, one more fall, how will you explain to Auntie Wen and Uncle Zhang?"
Lawrence came back to her senses and immediately clung to the arm within easy reach, muttering, "Kenneth, you’ve changed..."
"How have I changed?" Kenneth strolled leisurely down the stairs, smiling faintly as he said, "It’s common for those we once knew to change their hearts, only to say later that people’s hearts change easily."
Lawrence rolled her eyes, inwardly grumbling about Kenneth acting all high and mighty, but dared not say it aloud.
Her intuition told her once again that Kenneth was in a bad mood at this moment.
Kenneth noticed she didn’t argue back, turning to look at her, somewhat surprised, "Why no reaction? Admitting that I’m right?"

Kenneth said no more, striding forward quickly.
Once outside the dormitory building, Lawrence intended to let go of Kenneth’s arm.
But Kenneth quickened his pace, leveraging his height and long legs, he strode forward, so she had to keep clinging to his arm, jogging to keep up.
They went all the way to Heart Restaurant outside the South Gate, and Lawrence was sweating all over.
"Kenneth, we’re here to eat, not rushing to save a life! — Why are you walking so fast?" Lawrence took out a tissue at the restaurant door to wipe the sweat off her forehead.
Kenneth smiled, half-jokingly, "To help you lose weight. Later, Joyce and Rachel are going to order so many delicious things, if you don’t burn some calories first, your weight will bounce back."
"No way, right?" Lawrence was very satisfied with her recently slimmed-down appearance; how could someone who has lost weight bear the thought of getting fat again?
"Well, try it. Go back and sleep after eating, stop morning runs, and resume your original eating habits. If you don’t gain twenty pounds, consider it my loss." Kenneth said, leisurely climbing the restaurant steps.
Lawrence imagined herself gaining another twenty pounds, shivering at the thought.
Another twenty-pound gain would make it 136 pounds, really an eyesore.
Maybe even her uncle wouldn’t recognize her as his niece...
Lawrence clenched her fists, not even angry anymore about Kenneth dragging her to jog all the way here.
She followed Kenneth into the restaurant.
Fortunately, Kenneth slowed his pace once inside the restaurant.
Once inside, she saw him turn into a private room.
It should be the private room booked by Rachel and Joyce.
She lit up with a smile and joyfully followed him in.
Inside the private room, Rachel, Joyce, and Cecilia were already seated, each with a cup of barley tea in front of them.
Kenneth sat in one of the remaining two seats, so Lawrence had to sit beside him.
Because that was the only available seat.
"Okay, everyone’s here, let’s order," Joyce said, pressing the button to call for service.
Soon, a tall, slim man in a white uniform walked in.
His expression was somewhat aloof, unlike the typical smiling waitstaff, with distinct features and a very westernized profile, deemed quite handsome.
Such a handsome guy, actually working part-time as a waiter in a restaurant.
Lawrence couldn’t help but take a few more looks.
Not only she, but everyone at the table was giving him a second glance.
The waiter seemed a bit surprised upon seeing them too.
Lawrence’s gaze flickered over the table, reading everyone’s expressions, secretly wondering if he was an acquaintance of theirs?
She didn’t know this person, but looking at the faces of Rachel, Cecilia, Joyce, and Kenneth, it seemed like they really did.
Lawrence glanced at Rachel, just as she was about to grab her phone to message her and ask what was going on, Rachel had already shouted out.
"Blake Leaf?! Why are you working here?"
Cecilia lazily added, "...Your computer science faculty gives so many subsidies to poor students, yet you don’t apply but come here to earn such little money... what a waste of brains..."
Lawrence somewhat understood now.
Joyce saw Lawrence’s half-comprehending, half-confused look, and sighed, motioning for Blake to come over, "Blake, today is the day Rachel and I are getting engaged; come join us for a meal. — My treat."
