Chapter 73: Chapter 073: I Don’t Care Who You Are!
“Is this what it’s like when an Evil Spirit possesses someone?”
Roger remembered the words Henrik once told him.
Ordinary possession allows a ghost to control a human body for a short time, even making an appearance in sunlight. Yet in such situations, the controlled person often exhibits stiff expressions and clumsy movements.
This was due to the incompatibility between the Spiritual Body and the flesh.
There was also the situation at hand, where the possessed person could still control their body and retain autonomous thought, and even, under the stimulation of the Evil Spirit’s power, reach the peak of physical strength that the current body could bear.
They gained terrifying combat abilities far beyond that of a regular person!
“The other party’s strength should be above mine,”
Roger gripped the dagger in his hand and stepped forward without fear.
He wasn’t sure how Henrik’s battle was going, but as long as he resolved the situation with Hannam here, the fight would be completely over.
With a sudden burst of speed, Roger took the initiative to attack.
His angle of attack was tricky, burrowing under Hannam’s armpit and skewing upwards from that position—the dagger could easily pierce through the muscle and plunge into the heart!
Roger hadn’t noticed that, from his body to his mindset, he was completely different from the person who had first arrived in this world.

To Roger’s surprise, Hannam’s response was incredibly quick. He retreated swiftly, and the weapon in his hand swept up to clash squarely with Roger’s dagger.

Roger suddenly remembered Gilmore mentioning that when he had launched an attack, he was easily knocked down by the elderly Hannam.
Having a relatively long life, it was unsurprising that Hannam would be willing to spend energy on combat skills.
The force from the clash caused Roger’s right hand to go slightly numb, as he expected, Hannam’s strength was indeed above his.
While his dagger was parried away, Roger’s body leaned closer. A shorter weapon meant greater risk; once Hannam managed to put some distance between them with his superior strength, Roger would be in danger.
Roger’s actions were lightning-fast, each stroke faster than the last. The elf race was known for agility, and this basic Saber Technique deeply embodied various essences.
Straightforward and sharp!
It was even somewhat pleasing to the eye.
Roger quickly found an opportunity to leave several shallow cuts on Hannam’s body.
Slight white smoke rose from the wounds.
Roger’s dagger was smeared with Potions that restrained Spiritual Bodies, and with the Evil Spirit present within Hannam, the pain from the dagger wounds made it incredibly agitated.
Consequently, Hannam’s attacks also became more brutal. He abandoned guarding some less vital areas of his body and frantically swung his weapon, using sheer strength to overpower.
Roger didn’t dare risk it all like Hannam, and his offense slowed down a bit.
Although he wasn’t very experienced in real combat, he was quite cerebral. He didn’t clash head-on with Hannam, instead moving swiftly, widening the intervals between his strikes, but making each attack more perilous!
The basic elven dagger technique, when wielded by Roger, seemed increasingly natural, and he even incorporated some techniques of leverage from the Universal Sword Techniques into his attacks.
Although the wounds on Hannam’s body were shallow, their cumulative effect along with the Potion seeping into them was significant. Hannam’s blows remained powerful, but his breathing obviously slowed down between the exchanges.
In the midst of the fierce battle, Roger’s heart gradually calmed. His breathing rhythm became clear in his mind.
Facing Hannam’s direct Pierce, Roger took a deep breath. Under a state of intense concentration, his body’s strength twisted into one strand.
He swung his dagger out.
The speed wasn’t fast, but leveraging the body’s rotation, he perfectly gathered all of his strength!
The dagger struck the outer side of the pitchfork, causing Hannam’s body to unexpectedly veer off course.
A flash of determination in his eyes.
Roger’s body spun rapidly, the blade of the dagger slicing open a wound between Hannam’s ribs. With a roar of anger, Hannam swept back with his weapon.
But by then, Roger had already moved behind him, the dagger dancing between his fingers.
The Achilles tendon was cut, causing Hannam’s body to drop uncontrollably to his knees, and by that time, Roger’s dagger had already slashed upwards along the thigh, leaving a ghastly wound on Hannam’s body.
The pain made Hannam drop his weapon. Roger flicked the dagger upward, gathering force before viciously thrusting down!
A hint of cold light flashed in Roger’s eyes, “Who cares who you are?!”
But it was at that moment that the Evil Spirit possessing Hannam suddenly materialized, an invisible Mental Shock
Roger was momentarily affected, the movement of his hand slightly delayed, and when he struck, the dagger deviated slightly, fiercely piercing into Hannam’s shoulder!
Hannam let out a scream of agony, and the Evil Spirit automatically left him.
The barn door burst open, and Henrik charged in.
“Wait a moment, don’t kill him yet!”
Henrik raised his pistol and fired three specially-made bullets in rapid succession into the head of the Evil Spirit.
The Evil Spirit let out a wail like that of an infant, then completely vanished into the air. With the death of the Evil Spirit, Hannam suffered a backlash, blood seeping from every orifice, his face ghastly as he collapsed.
“You cannot kill me, you all can’t kill me.”
“I am from the Voodoo Council.”
Hannam lifted his head, his handsome face still marred by the ferocious remnants of the spirit’s possession.
“It’s a critical time now, killing me will bring you big trouble.”
“Haha, I know everything. If it weren’t for something big about to happen, why would I dare to do such a thing?”
“At this critical moment, if someone from the Hunters Guild kills a person from the Voodoo Council, tsk tsk, can you guess the consequences?”
Hannam laughed wildly.
“The already fragile situation would explode instantly!”
He looked at Henrik, “Just some ordinary people, and I’ve cleaned up everything, as long as that guy dies, even if someone came to investigate, they wouldn’t find anything.”
“Why not turn a blind eye?”
“It’s better for all of us that way.”

Seeing this, Roger let out a light sigh.
This Hannam, he absolutely mustn’t be left alive.
Being the focus of such a malicious, scheming, and cunning person… tsk tsk, Roger certainly didn’t want anyone clearing weeds from his grave next year.
